Gary has been a key person throughout for Shelby American and he is one heck of a driver too. Great person and always willing to talk Shelby's.
I live 10 mins away from this shop and go there just to look and dream of the day I can drive out of those bay doors with a Super Snake Wide Body.

Frank, It was pretty cool to have total access to the factory floor and check it all out, Shelby heaven.
17k on top of the ecboost!! DAMN! might as well buy a GT and a whipple and have another shop install and tune it because those eco boost don't last long turned up!
Great tour. Micheal Bay needs to start putting snakes in his films. The Fast and Furious fanchise needs to put more snakes in. Cruse needs to have Ethan Hunt drive around in a snake in future Mission Impossible films. San Lee needs to *insist* that snakes be in a *all* of his Marvel films. Wolverene needs to be driving around in a snake. Wonder Woman would evan be *more* sexy if she drove around in a snake. I *insist* that the Smokey And The Bandit reboot have a snake instead of a TA.
Haha, Shelby's for everyone in the movies! I think they just did a film a couple years back that featured a modified GT500 as star car. The name escapes me but it was a chase, thriller, car movie.

This guy is cool! Met him today and he fired up the 17 gt500 gave it some revs and talked cars.

If they offer the Supersnake brake package with the EcoBoost itll be a monster drivers car.
Interesting stuff Rich...Those turbo 4 banger Mustangs are coming here...We have the 5.0's and I think a V6 version too...The police tested a couple of V8 Mustangs here for chase cars and the transmissions took a dump on the second lap..!
Hey Zig, I have heard the transmissions under hard and prolonged use are the weak link but after a couple of laps? Wow, they are supercharging the coyote's like crazy and the transmissions are holding up to boosted HP. Must have been some crazy cops! Haha
Mid 12's in the 1/4 mile is impressive for a 4 cylinder car that size.

I love the old gt500 from 2013 but new mustangs have better looking back and only this in my oppinion.
Oh and looks lighter also.
I like the styling of the newer cars too, much better tail end on them.

Could a 2016 Ford Mustang V6 be converted as well? For instance, would it be possible to make a V6 almost identical to a GT?
You should contact Shelby directly and ask, not sure if they do any V6 stuff.
The racered mustang in the background, is that a european version? It has white tail lights and a fake fuel cap pony logo. Do they convert cars for the global market?
I am not sure , not everything on the floor is a customer car. They have some R and D stuff too. Yes they do cars that are shipped globally.

Shelby American in Las Vegas is where they do the Shelby mods. These are not the same factory Shelby GT 350 and 500's sold directly by Ford but a post title conversion to Super Snakes in the case of the S550 5..0 GT's

You would have to contact Shelby American but to my knowledge they don't go that far back.
if you had a 2014 GT500, With only about $3,000 and a couple weeks you've got a 800hp with already a beefed up drivetrain?
There are plenty of cars you can mod yourself and get high HP, that is not the point for someone having their car transformed by the Shelby factory.
Point is COST
For some people that is a non-issue or there would be no Roush, Saleen, Shelby, etc.....
OR ,there would be No American Muscle, Steeda ,Bear,Brembo ,Whipple or "The Shelby Store"
Yes, enough room in the marketplace for the DIYer and the guy who can plunk down whatever they please. They aren't mutually exclusive and this is nothing new, the aftermarket and post title tuner cars have coexisted for decades.

Again, some enthusiasts are willing to pay for something they want. Clearly Shelby is tapping into that market or they wouldn't be in business. It's not for everyone.

Carrol Shelby has had nothing much to do with the Shelby cense 1970 when he sold the rights to the car to Ford except promo,s and some R&D Ford was going to sue Carrol when he went to Dodge because of trade mark issues. That why the the Shelby dodge Daytona didn't last but a year or so
More like '68 that is when Ford took over production of the Shelby Mustangs, it was all a marketing agreement after that.

So basically shelby has over extended themself, they are not so unique anymore, basically a Standard GT Mustang with even 1,000 HP and all the extras brake, suspension, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc, will never ever get your Money back unless you park it in a O2 controlled space / bubble and turn it over with the Odometer harness disconnected and all wheels turning and run it for about 20 minutes every month and wait about 30 years you might get your $$ back, but then again those who can afford it, do not give a shit about the money, like the a hay abs who just leave it on the side of the road when it breaks down ?
I am not sure what your point is, Shelby has a business, they sell goods and services. If the marketplace didn't want it then it wouldn't exist. Poof it would go away. It will never be 1965 again this is 2018 and this is the current state of Shelby American.
