That's such a cool idea! My brother is getting married in a few months and I could gift them some of these.. I don't have wood scraps, so I'll probably try it with veneer. Or maybe I can get some shavings from a local shop. Do you have any further tips on wood types other than not to use white oak? Preferable woods that can easily be stained in different colours 😊
These would make a great gift! Any wood with tight straight grain should work well, maple and walnut are probably going to be two of the better options. I'd avoid red oak, white oak, and ash. Maybe try poplar too for an affordable and stainable option
They look so nice, but one mistake, and you have a bunch of wood shavings on the floor. Maybe dip them in a very thin epoxy, like a table top epoxy? Would make them way harder to break, but kills the natural look of it.
@@BuiltKnotBought I meant to dip the whole flower in epoxy. If you use very thin epoxy, it will run down the stem before it sets, but leave a thin layer on the wood.
The amount of time you spent on them makes them way more precious than anything store-bought. Nice job! Lol the lack of fingerprints and beef-vase!
Thanks for watching and for the kind words a greatly appreciate it, who needs finger prints anyways
I like them! Definitely a keepsake
Thank you for watching and commenting 👍

I think if I coated them in epoxy they may become to brittle to bend around the stem but it's definitely worth giving a try
