It is the largest ever sawn Jade camellia made of Kirishima wood.
I was able to take a board with a width of over 1m.
It's been longer this time as well, so I've uploaded it in two parts. Please take a look at the first part.

しまぐろ（ネズミモチ）でこれほど太くなるのは稀有でしょうね・・・外材ですか？
関東でも垣根に植えられてるのを見たことがあります。ネズミという名の由来はかわいそうですね（笑）余談ですがオオイヌノフグリも同様です。（笑）
素晴らしい木肌ですねぇ！しかも大きな欠点の無い板。厚く切り出しましたが豪勢なテーブル向きでしょうかね？メオトレンジャーいい仕事！

シマグロは国産材です。今まで製材したシマグロの中では最大でした。
オオイヌノフグリ… 確かに！とても可憐な花なのに！！（笑）

Well that log turned out to be absolutely beautiful, the wood grains being so large really gives it so much character. Part #2 was well worth the wait : ) Enjoyed this with my sushi and tea. My very best to you and you're beautiful wife.

Camellia is normally a slow growing understory plant. I am wondering how old this one was when it was cut and why was it cut?

When reversing the trolley, she presses the lever on the top of the trolley with her foot.
This will adjust the position of the bandsaw.

「シマグロ」という木です。またの名を「玉椿」とも言います。
昭和天皇皇后様が薩摩藩から嫁ぐ際に、嫁入り道具を作るのに使われた木だそうです。その際に、通称シマグロから「玉椿」というという上品な名前が付けられました。実際の椿とは似ても似つかぬ杢目ながら、独特な上品な色合です磨くとピカピカと輝きます。
