Hi, I'm gonna attempt this tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get some answers to a few questions by then. First of all, none of us are advanced players (that's why I'm watching these). My main question is what the actual invasion of England will look like. I'm assuming the 9 transports will be placed on turn 3 in zone 112, but how do I keep them safe? I feel like they won't be safe against whatever planes/ships my opponent will undoubtedly throw at them right after I place them. And then, what else will be supporting the 20 landing units? Will I need ships other than the cruiser and destroyer (I'm assuming the Battleship was doomed)? I feel like I might need planes in case he scrambles against the fleet, but I'll probably need planes in Russia too. Fortunately, I can tell you a few moves my opponent will likely make. First, he'll 110% buy an IC in Egypt on turn 1. Second, I'm 90% sure he'll scramble all 3 fighters when I attack zone 110. Also, if I lose my battleship in 110 (like I said, I'm assuming that's inevitable), he'll undoubtedly see that as a big victory and likely won't hesitate to start buying more ships, maybe in zone 109? Not too sure on this one though, as I know he'll be concerned with Egypt. Lastly, we're not playing tournament rules, so there's a chance I could kill the cruiser in 16. If I do that, there's a good chance he won't bother with Taranto, because last time I scrambled and I ended up keeping my battleship and a transport. Like I said, we're by no means advanced and my opponent will probably crap his pants when I buy the 9 transports, but I don't trust myself to keep them safe and also not fuck up in Russia. Anyways, based on this, is there any additional advice/adjustments to be made? Thanks
I have a good amount of experience but I understand this comment is 6 years late. I could share my recommendations but by now I assume you have grown in your own strategies. But let me know if you still want my advice :)
Hello :) Thank you for the video. How will Italy keep up with the english fleet taking away income in the med? Is the Germany airplanes supposed to take them out? That's my first idea to that solution, but after watching your video about G1 in this strategy, I found that the chances of Germany having their Bombers intact from turn 1 are less than 50%, if Britain scramble in sz 110 (3 fighters). In my testgame, Britain won with one spare fighter, leaving Germany with 4 tacs and 4 fighters. That should be enough to take the fleet out still, but how will Sealion go down when Germany has next to no airforce left? It's my understanding that they need to spend all their gold on transports and ground units up until sealion, no?
They are not needed Moscow is only 4/5 spaces away depending on your route... is why you will take it turn 5/6 (remember turn 2 you are in idle mode to allow more units to the front)
Sired. What does GE do after a succesful Sealion because they won't have enough time to build up the Atlantic wall should they build a navy instead to prevent the US from landing?
Remember is US is locked and loaded, you will NOT do London... if US is Locked and Loaded and aimed at Europe, you will have to access their assets, 4 trans? 8 trans? etc. Like I said if every IPC was spent on Europe, you will not attempt Sea Lion, and hold the lines, remember then there would be little US in the Pacific and Japan will be killing it. If it looks good, and you take London, you will then have the money from UK and your base income (less russia income, russia income is for Russia) to fortify turn 5.... naturally it wont be the 50-55 units if no Sea Lion, but you can easily drop 20 (10/10) as youll get about 30 from UK and your base income is 30..... be thankful you left Normandy to Italy.
I'm sorry for not understanding the AAA rules. I've read the rule a few times I just don't quite get it. Could someone please explain? If I have 10 planes (4 Fighters) (4 Tac) (2 Bomb) going into an amphib with 5 AAA guns defending, do the AAA guns get a total of 30 shots? It says each AAA gun gets 3 shots, so is that 15? And the lesser amount is 10 planes. So 10 planes X 3 shots. Thanks.
AAA get "upto" 3 shots, meaning 1 AAA gun can roll on 3 aircraft..... in your case, 5 AAA guns can have "upto" 15 shots, but you only have 10 aircraft, so the AAA rolls 10 (1 per). If you had 1 aircraft and they have 5 AAA, they get 1 roll period, not 1 roll each. The details are in my card deck, I have a AAA card.
Ok, that makes sense now. I love it. Along with the zero defense for transports. I'm going to play a friend of mine that has made a living with shooting down my planes with AAA guns and transports, for 15 f-ing years! Nice to see some '1' luck eliminated somewhat. Thanks for your help.
LOL, we have all fked up here and there, back in the day, I thought bombardment hits did not get to roll a defense roll.... was just BAM they are gone.... Its also funny, when I designed my card deck, there were rules that made more sense as I wrote them out.
Sorry for the confusion. I don't own any of the 40 sets so idk if the chips under the units are the standard ones that come with the game. I see a lot of people use the aftermarket plastic chips that have this ridged ring around the outside, but personally I'm not a huge fan of it. Would much prefer wooden chips for this
Yes the game comes with the plastic chips, though I changed some of the colors for preference.... as to using wood, unless they interlocked like the plastic ones, I can imagine a huge headache when you stacked them.... I’d be down to see some wood ones though.
I do 2 variants of Cobra Kai, depends on a few other things, opponents, am I ALL Axis, or just Germany... but in this vid its a minor, but im also a fan of a major. As for UK in Greece, I do that too every now and then... when that happens, just between Italy and Germany in the turn sequence, those guys wont be there when its Uks turn again anyway.... Axis cant let that go un challenged.
Thanks for the comment, what was the cheat? If you are referring to the ping pong, any retreated attack all units must return to a single territory which at least 1 unit advanced from... this ping pong effect allows units to move 2 spaces rather then 1 ..... make sense... no, but I didn't write the rules lol :) ... there are several parts on the map where you can "ping pong" your units.
Love your money and board. I've been trying to save up for that set up. Cancer set me back on finances. My sons and I play every day.
"If you do do... it" lol. Great Strategy vids brother. Looking forward to implementing them ;)
lol.... Ive really upped the Cobra Kai, same thing, but way deadlier now.... but, saving it for the tournament... in case im Germany!
Great vid thx for the advice!
Those fighters aren't allowed to land in Southern France because it was just taken, correct?
Hi! I like your videos. Just subbed. Was just wondering how you made your dice? Looking to make something like that :) or purchase. Thanks in advance

by having Italy defend the western coast, do you miss an opportunity for Italian Can Openers on the Eastern Front?

If g1 is done on russia but no j1 is done in the Pacific is US still out of war sorrhly for my ignorance
Yes, Russia at war does not effect America
Ok thank you

Hi Sired, what do you use as your unit counter chips? Thanks!
You lost me... the colors?

What if UK lands troops in Greece T1 ? Also what kind of industrial complex is on Romania ?

Sweet 20's btw
Not of massive importance, but I think you cheated a little taking Yugoslavia.
Your pieces look great by the way

What pieces are you using Siredblood? They look great!
I bet you lose a lot
