Not a fan of that genre, but the lyrics resonated with me. I was hearing this about the time I separated from my first wife. She was certifiably a narcissistic sociopath, who built our sham of a marriage on lies and control. The story is far too convoluted to explain here, but it was bad. This song described her to the fucking letter.

When this song was on TRL (or was it just MTV?) every day, I was 12 and being bullied in school. I would get off the bus, run home crying, and turn on MTV. I will never forget the debut of this video and my first time hearing and seeing it. It was a particularly bad day at school and I was in deep, aching pain because of those kids. This video came on and held my attention and then I heard those words: "You think that everybody's the same. I don't think that anybody's like you." It wasn't just the words but it was also the way he sang them. It was a revelation and changed my entire perspective on the situation. After that, when the worst of the bullies would come up to me in the morning, I would remember this song from the evening before and recite those words in my mind and feel a sense of comfort and strength in myself that I had not felt before. It gave me so much strength. I was never as hurt again by what people said about me. I was free. I doubt the artist had any clue that their words would help out some random 12 year old in Huntersville, NC at the time. I wish I could thank them. If you are reading this, thank you! You changed my life for the better.

That’s the power of music. The words can be interpreted differently by every single person, the songwriter may have written it about one topic but we can hear the words as something else and there in lies the beauty of music and the written word. It can bring such emotion to us, love hate sadness strength ...... when a song truly gets to me I will get goosebumps on my arms and tears stream down my face uncontrollably. I think the artists love to hear how their music has touched people’s lives ♥️ thanks for sharing your story

Alot of people don't realize it's a concept album because they hear a song like Nookie or Break Stuff and just assume all their songs are childish, but in reality those songs are meant to be sort of childish and as he grows and learns from relationships/hardships the songs reflect that. I grew up on this music. The 90's were my teens, born in 80 and my first concert was Nirvana in 93. I still got the ticket. Anyhow finny now that I am 43 this song and this group I am still jamming and empathically living through the lyrics. Too COOL. Thank you Limpbizit. You have given me so much more thought prosses than you could ever understand.
I broke up with my first love with this song, honestly. I use to believe it was him who did all this crap to me, but was it, not me allowing him to in the first place.
I survived so much shit while most of my people are gone now. Is it a blessing or a curse?

no matter what anyone says about limp bizkit, one thing for sure is that they are talented. they have made metal music feel so hip hop. Wes Borland has made guitar riffs that are heavy but feel so catchy to listen to. and Fred Durst have channeled deep emotion into frenetic music. believe me, not many metal band vocalists are able to do it. limp bizkit, you guys are the real hip metal.

All Nu-Metal, all had their very own distinct styles and sound.
Bands today all sound the same. Buncha uncreative losers, we live in a soulless society.

You know there was a time that everyone loved limp bizkit. Even the people who supposedly despised limp bizkit were like "man I hate Fred Durst, but that Wes Borland can really play!"

I do find it comical that people blamed these guys for the riots and rape that happened at Woodstock at 99. They're an upbeat band with an upbeat and mosh type show. It's not their fault that the crowd at Woodstock 99 was a bunch of idiots that couldn't handle themselves. Woodstock 99 crowd ruined big festivals in America forever.

What happened at Woodstock 99 was inevitable and was a long time coming. To place the blame on any one group is really short-sighted and stupid.

I recall sitting at a small bar in a Las Vegas hotel on a cold November evening in 1999, and off in the distance this video played on a large screen, loud enough for me to hear it. I was instantly hooked. Got up from the bar, walked over, and watched the video to the end. Was in love with the song ever since. Everytime I hear it, it brings me back to 1999 and it makes me happy.

    Just think about it
    Just think about it
    Lately I've been sceptical
Silent when I would used to speak
    Distant from all around me
Who witnessed me fail and become weak
    Life is overwhelming
Heavy is the head that wears the crown
I'd love to be the one to disappoint you
    When I don't fall down
But you don't understand when I'm attempting to explain
Because you know it all and I guess things will never change
But you might need my hand when falling in your hole
Your disposition I'll remember when I'm letting go of
    You and me we're through
    And rearranged
It seems that you're not satisfied
    Too much on your mind
So you leave and I can't believe
All the bullshit that I find
    Life is overwhelming
Heavy is the head that wears the crown
I'd love to be the one to disappoint you
    When I don't fall down
But you don't understand when I'm attempting to explain
Because you know it all and I guess things will never change
But you might need my hand when falling in your hole
Your disposition I'll remember when I'm letting go of
    You and me we're through
    And rearranged
    You and me we're through
    And rearranged
    You're no good... for me
    Thank God it's over
    You make believe
That nothing is wrong until you're cryin'
    You make believe
That life is so long until you're dyin'
    You make believe
That nothing is wrong until you're cryin'
    Cryin' on me
    You make believe
That life is so long until you're dyin'
    Dyin' on me!
You think that everybody's the same
    I don't think that anybody's like you
(You ruin everything; you kept fuckin' with me
Until it's over and I won't be the same)
You think that everybody's the same
(You ruin everything; you kept fuckin' with me
Until it's over and I won't be the same)
    I don't think that anybody's like you
    Just think about it
    You'll get it
