- There are few places on earth that can match the diversity of Canada’s vast forests. In particular, the province of British Columbia is home to 40 different tree species and biogeoclimatic zones.
From planting forests to manufacturing products, the forest sector in British Columbia is a sophisticated and interconnected network involving sustainable forest management, wood processing and hundreds of communities that live, work and play in these forests.
As North America’s largest producer of softwood, British Columbia’s wood products are used in a wide range of buildings and products, showcasing their structural, aesthetic and versatile qualities.

Calling the timber industry of B.C. sustainable is inaccurate. The fact that there are still Old Growth forests being cut is embarrassing, allowing the loss of such a unique habitat that we will not see restored in our time, if ever. This seems more like propaganda than a true story. I wish that everyone who sees this video is also able to come to this realization
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We encourage you to check the BC Government website for the Province's latest approach to the management of Old Growth forests.

@@naturallywood If in fact it was anywhere near sustainable, old growth would not be on the table. Industry is greedy and short sighted and you are representing the interests of industry, nothing more.

The circulation of forest resource is big issue now for global warming. I think.
Pretty sure concrete is a lot worse. Better to build with wood.
