I'm taking apart mine but the cheap screws stripped and now I have to Dremel the heads. I'm a scrape collect the droppings, Easy Off , pressure wash, soap n vinegar, pressure wash then run it at high heat for 30 minutes. I might as well buy a new one😅
I was disgusted when I found the same thing in mine and overreacted by giving it away....Not even an hour later after trying to find something equivalent to what I had which was a 5 burner Broil King....I realized I F'd up because I spent $1200 on that grill 8 years ago and today an equivalent is damn near $2000....So yes I should have just cleaned, sanitized and 🔥 whatever was needed and kept my investment. Quality cost!!!!
I hear ya!.... I've taken every measure to clean and sanitize the grill in that video, but I'll be honest.....I still haven't used it. Lol I still light charcoal and use my $80 smoker, even if it's just a steak.
@@mrchrisg2819 I would like this option if I still had it to not use. When I posted the grill for free on Nextdoor I had over 100 responses to it in just a couple of hours. I knew I was giving away something valuable at that point. I would have just repeat burn every inch of the inside of the grill and kept it
I found a family in mine it’s been 2 years since I can’t get myself to use it so I have been tack welding mesh on all the openings and tacking c channel so a plate can slide in from the inside for the rotisserie hole
I used a pressure washer with water straight off my water heater..... wire brush and scraper, repeat. Same with the grates/ cooking surfaces, I wire brushed them used "sos"pads before putting them into the dishwasher on sanitize mode. Scraping the inside walks was the dirtiest part, but remember to do a thorough job..... when is all clean, run it for an full hour at high heat for good measure. I'll be honest, I still use my smoker cause the thought creeps me out a bit. Good luck!
@@mrchrisg2819 thank you So much. I'm not really into the whole cook where they crap..it urks me out no mater hide much cleaning I would do..lol my wife wants to save some money this way
I have the same problem. The critter is entering through the grease drip channel. Need to find a way to put a screen in place but have access to clean regularly. Was hoping Traeger would have some kind of accessory
Here is an idea. Take out the grease pan and grates. They will have nothing to climb on. Only thing is where to put the grates and pan as it attracts ants
its gross disgusting, this is why i switched from gas grill to weber master touch premium kettle and pellet smoker too..no holes or gaps for mice to get in.
Not the balls 😂🤣
Hate the mice. But been wanting to try a smoker and this one looks more up my alley than the cost of a green egg!

Exact same thing i did

Thank you for posting, any suggestions on how to and what to use to clean the grill and barbecue so you can safely use it again?

Preheat your grill for a minimum of 10 minutes. Use a still grill brush to remove the charred debris. You’ll be good to go. Fire kills everything.
Hate rats and mice. They got in 2 different grills of mine. No matter how much you clean it still feel gross cooking on it. Ended up trashing both
👍
Just learn to barbeque and eat the rats :))
One down… lol
We're in Menifee and we seen droppings in our trager
Same!!!!! This ruin thanks giving
