  • Decorated gymnast Simone Biles testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 15 as lawmakers examined how the FBI handled its investigation of former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, who was convicted in 2018 of sexually abusing women and young female athletes in his care. Biles got emotional as she explained her belief that the system failed her. “USA Gymnastics knew that I was abused by their official team doctor long before I was ever aware of their knowledge,” she said.
