Great video as always Emily. Thank you for speaking about the true origin of "Thanksgiving". I never "celebrated" it because of that and I'm so happy to be Vegan and not be part of the other autracity of this so-called holiday. 💚
You commented about the first Thanksgiving, I just wanted to add some info on that. I'm from Germany, we also have Thanksgiving, it's much older than U.S. history. It's called Erntedankfest and has every similarity to the one celebrated in other places, except with a more religious undertone. It's a celebration to be thankful for the bountiful harvest. I'm afraid you've all been lied to about Thanksgiving. It's a pre-Christian Roman holiday, interestingly enough, formalised in Germany by Adolph Hitler. (Thanks Wikipedia!)
Thank you so much for sharing, Betsy Smith.
My mind finally broke through the unconscious denial of the connection of actual living beings and what was on my plate. I went full vegan over night 3 months ago. It is the best decision I have ever made in my soul. Its the little part I can do. I can’t watch 1 second of slaughterhouse footage. Even what you showed here instantly brought me to tears. I don’t know how to help the animals other than be vegan and donate, and love my own animals with all I’ve got.

Why exactly do they cut off the beak off the turkey? Even if you're a non vegan and enjoy a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, this seems highly illogical and unnecessarily cruel.
I'm all for education and understanding our past, but I disagree with the "Sneak Attack" side of it. The dinner table on Thanksgiving is not the place for activism. Regardless of its roots and history it is a special day in the lives of American families and should be left alone. Plus, it is neither the time nor place to beat someone over the head for not thinking like you do with regard to eating meat. There is a time and a place to discuss your values and reach out to others. However, the conversation is worth having and should be done at another time. Just my thoughts on the matter. :)
@Sonic Sheep watch videos about carnivore diet. Many ex vagans do this diet now and are very healthy after they got very sick on vegan diet after years. On vegan diet you feel good at the beginning and maybe a few years but after that most of people get really sick.
@@jeanettenejadi1777 "Many ex vagans do this diet now and are very healthy" And you know that how? Did you see their blood work, or did you do a surface level glance at their appearance and determined that they "look" healthy? Carnitards are almost as crazy as radical vegans.
@@heckinbasedandinkpilledoct7459 some do well with it even after decades, some introduce other foods after few years of healing on the diet. It's different for everybody. You don't need blood work when you feel good and all your symptoms disappear. Blood work doesn't shows so much about your health.

So thank you sooo much for the vids (!) and can you make one about gelatin? 💕💕💕
You and Yourofsky are still my favourites
In a world where humans still slaughter other humans because there skin is a different color, worship a different deity, work for rival organizations, live under a different flag. Non humans do not have a chance while humans are still so cruel to each other.
YOURE BACK ❤❤
I have now forced my family to go vegan so I don’t have to worry about it this year :D woohoo #NoDeathThanksgiving
you’re* not you’ve
They were kinda hesitant but I convinced them :3
Guide to Christmas? Before Christmas?
Emily! We miss you! 🌱
Emily has been working hard in the background for the last couple of years on the full rebuild of the website and the setting up of the non-profit. She is, as always, pushing herself too hard but contrary to the comments of some trolls she is and always will be vegan and committed to helping those without a voice. Please be patient a little longer, Emily will be back producing videos and spreading the knowledge.
For thanksgiving I just bought and ate my own food apart from everyone else.
We miss you and we love you please Emily plz give us a life update?
Emily is alive and well and hard at work. The new site has had it's initial soft release but there is still a great deal that needs to be done on it before it can be called complete (or as complete as any continually growing site can be said to be). Emily is getting closer to getting back to producing content but whilst she may be incredible, she is still only one woman. This has taken far, far longer than she ever thought it would and she hates that fact more than you will ever know but she will be back producing as soon as she possibly can.
@@retrogirl1343 Nothing funny is going on. I have spent two hours on Skype only this afternoon talking through her next steps, hurdles and options. She will be back and she will be back soon.
Where are you??
Thanks
Do you have a problem with non vegan. I’m just asking
Emily has spoken on this topic if you would like to check it out: ua-cam.com/video/nPklnskTIMg/v-deo.html
See you soon?....Yay!
Never eat loved ones, great video Emily!
I’ve vegan for 14 year I was 12 when I started my vegan Journey, I I call Thanksgiving genocide turkey day , and it have more victims
then yulin dog murder festival. And Sydney Australia pig murder festival. And therefore The days is one of the most cruel depraved days.Of the year. To call it a holi-day must be the one of the biggest sarcasm is of them all.
Where is she? Does anyone know?

New subbie from Eugene Oregon 😺.
Where did you go? I miss your videos
@food4 thought I didn't know that was why I asked?...
@Ryan McQuillan where is this info?

It shouldn't be too much longer before she can return to producing UA-cam content.
Mam, i am going to be an vegan but my mother and friends is so much worried about my diet. So I must to know about the alternatives for meat and dairy products.. Hope you will help me mam. Eagerly waiting for your reply.
beans & grains & nuts & seeds. and you don't need dairy AT ALL
Where in Iowa do you live?
Being vegan for thanksgiving is like celebrating Valentine’s Day alone. Why even acknowledge this holiday unless you’re seeking attention.
where are you and how are you, are you ever coming back, we really miss you, like a lot...I hope you are doing well...

@xXViolet GrayXx I've been helping Emily with the odd task on the web site and I'm in daily contact with her.
New uploads please.

You're the best
Why exactly do they cut off the beak off the turkey? Even if you're a non vegan and enjoy a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, this seems highly illogical and unnecessarily cruel.
Ed Jones so they don’t peck each other out of frustration I think
So sad. That's why I became vegan.
Eat meat or be unhealthy
@Sonic Sheep watch videos about carnivore diet. Many ex vagans do this diet now and are very healthy after they got very sick on vegan diet after years.
On vegan diet you feel good at the beginning and maybe a few years but after that most of people get really sick.
@@jeanettenejadi1777 "Many ex vagans do this diet now and are very healthy"
And you know that how? Did you see their blood work, or did you do a surface level glance at their appearance and determined that they "look" healthy? Carnitards are almost as crazy as radical vegans.
@@heckinbasedandinkpilledoct7459 some do well with it even after decades, some introduce other foods after few years of healing on the diet. It's different for everybody. You don't need blood work when you feel good and all your symptoms disappear. Blood work doesn't shows so much about your health.
Hi dear !!!!!! :)

why soy milk has 6% fat ????
I don't know about soy but I do know that 2% milk (bovine lactate) is actually 35% fat.
Hunny!!! Are u ok? Sick?
@Sherlock Holmes And where is your source?

Hello Emily! We missed you!
Thank you so much, jose javier ! Missed you guys too. Though I've not been publishing content, I've not stopped the fight for a second. I've been (and am still) working really hard to build up Bite Size Vegan into a far more comprehensive, resource for non-vegans, new vegans, and activists everywhere-forever free and open-access.
what exactly has she been doing since making videos

WOOT! So glad to hear it, Ewa Zusanna! Thank you for making the change :D I cannot explain how incredible it is to hear my work's had an impact-it never ceases to blow me away and is the whole reason I created Bite Size Vegan.
