Purpose of asking whether a club is a title challenger based on just 5 games is to determine how insightful a pundit is. Insights like "they won't be title challengers cos they don't have a natural 6 and opponents will find and exploit an opening by x'mas." or "they will be title challengers cos their 3 midfielders rotate to play 6, 8 and 10, so they don't need to have a natural 6." Of course we will have to wait till x'mas to find out. "Too early to tell just after 5 games" just makes him a mediocre pundit at best. What's the point for asking a pundit's prediction when there's only 10 games left.

Let's get this right. Liverpool put up a challenge with young kids playing in many games. Liverpool was joint top on gameweek 31 last season.
@@sammyboy12345 we were top outright but injuries to jota Jones and Salah at Brentford away killed us in the run in. Midfield we ended up bare bones and players who played every game during the injuries caught up with us. We finished like 4 off arsenal after hwving a breakdown in the last few games losing to Everton,palace and drew with west ham. We finish ahead of Arsenal if we win 1 and drew another despite arsenal winning like 16 in a row. Half the team have won the title in our spine. Becker,vvd,Trent,robbo, Salah

Nunez was all over the place gakpo was inconsistent. Now u probably learnt for last season so u will put another challenge. Winning it is a different equation.

The whole "new manager bounce" thing doesn't really apply to Liverpool. It's phenomenon that is mostly occurs because a team has gone through a tough period, bad enough to cause the manager to be sacked, and the bounce is about renewed hope and formerly disgruntled players feeling like they have a chance to impress. In Liverpool's case, Klopp left of his own accord and at a time when things were going pretty well, there really wasn't anything to bounce up from.

Facing some of the best teams in the league is not the true metrics for a title challenge. The effectiveness of dispatching the smaller teams and winning the games you are expected to win can put you in the title challenge. Winning the title may need a little bit more depending on the other teams.
Last season Chelsea held their own against most of the top teams but didn't even make top 4 because they were picking up 1 point and throwing away the easy 3 points. Title challenge is a numbers game and the numbers pile up with dispatching the smaller teams.
This is why City are favorites and Arsenal parking the bus will only bring its karma against the smaller teams.
Liverpool midfield was all new last season, having played together for a year they will flourish this season.
Judge Slot in a few months, he will find the winter schedule brutal and he couldn't have been handed an easier start, every team been poor or off form, besides Forest who we lost to.

Spurs issue last year wasn't that they got found out. The issue is when they had injuries, they had to return to players that have been crap for them for years.

We lost to Forest not because of low block or lack of form but Slot fear of certain players and politics. Watch carefully and you will see Szoboszlai or any midfielders struggling to pass to our main striker Jota who doesn't fit that role when it comes to teams sitting deep as he is too fragile and not quick enough. hence why he failed to score in previous three games even without low block although we still won as the opposition team is not as tight in the wing area. So the problem was masked.
Slot seems to play it safe with Jota because now its becoming apparent that the other players don't like Darwin as when he plays, the midfielders never once pass to him in a great position to score even tho he is more effect against low blocks as he is physically stronger and fast.
Slot panders to clicks in the dressing rooms and ostracise players who are being ostracised by their team mates especially Darwn and Tsimikas who when allowed to play for a while contributed more to the team terms of quality passes and pace. Its really strange as both are not lazy or anything.
The only common denominator is that both have long hair and flamboyant....Facts of life. It happens everywhere.
