    How bad was the crash when you hit the chuck?

    That chuck certainly doesn't center very well.

    How did you set this up in Mach? And what did you have to set your dip switches to in the control box? I have the cncrp pro with everything all wired up. Just can’t figure out the tuning setup.

    You have a well thought out and designed rotary axis that functions great! Really enjoyed your video. I've owned a CNCRP 4824 Pro for 4 years and would like to add a rotary axis however I can't justify the $2700 + that Avid (CNCRP) charges for the kit. If your willing to share your setup, I would appreciate any info you would provide.

    A pity that you machined chunks out of your new tail stock running centre...! I'll bet that made a bit of a racket...!

    Awesosme, finally the video I was looking all the time! I’ll bring my CNC in the next coming weeks from China, And I defenetly need the 4th axel, could you send me some links of the 4th axel you’ve bought?
    Thanks a lot in advance
    By the way I used to live in China for 12 years and now I live in Frankfurt Germany.

    @Matt Reidy Awesome, I have been planning on getting a CNCRouterParts table for awhile now and it looks like it might actually be happening soon. I have been interested in doing a rotary axis for said purchase and am I glad to see that you shared a video of your setup. Are you planning on using it only in that position or do you have plans to locate it elsewhere in order to get more height?

    • @MattReidy
      @MattReidy  6 років тому +2

      I've got it rigged to be able to raise and lower into the table. See for details: drive.google.com/open?id=0B23R36bDW2nzTlo5aV95ckdSVUU

    Curious if a larger dust shroud will be coming from the various manufacturers to handle 4th axis work. The existing shoes don’t seem to catch dust any where near as well as they need to when you are using the 4th axis.

    • @dillonpapa
      @dillonpapa 4 роки тому +1

      don't get me wrong, it is a great tutorial but that is exactly what I was looking for in your video was how to make sure you clear your chuck and tail stock. you sort of explained it when you added the dowel through the middle but it would me nice to have it explained in more detail.

      @@MattReidy Nope. it's not the same, please never lie or shame from mistakes beause we can learn from others mistakes, i can see you crashed very hard on the chuck there it chipped off the edge of the chuck clamb...good tutorial btw

    Instead of Aspire I have VCarve Pro 9.5 and I'm curious as to whether you have ever tried cutting an STL file on a Tapered Piece? VCarve has the same setup as Aspire for Rotary Cuts and though I have figured the Rotary cut into a Cylindrical piece.. I haven't yet found if it is possible to make this same cut in a Tapered piece.

    With parts of the bit going back and forth in mid air it seemed like the z-axis was off a bit, but as all you were doing was rounding it out, there didn't seem to be to much of an issue.
