Ok, I had the exact same reaction when he 1 hit Malphas. And then I learned that Malphas takes stacked damage by each piece of the bird through the separate portals. So Malphas took Hell On Earth damage 3 times due to the 3 open portals. Pretty insane.
here’s how to win all stages with Vergil instantly: 1: Get super Vergil to complete them only if you have beat Dante must die mode. 2: once you have it keep spamming judgement cut end and hell on earth or deep stinger. 3: if there are any enemies that are very annoying like fury or proto Angelo. Use judgement cut end on them or he’ll on earth 4: done now you can complete it by yourself! You can do it
I spent 10 hours on level 101(used save backup method in ps+) and barely scraped out a victory. You're insanely good. All that's left for me is Nero, but I'm unable to defeat Urizen phase 2 and probably not phase 3 with him. At this point I would almost pay for someone to do it for me 😅
In your case, it was probably slow to do Hell on Earth. Hell on Earth is invincible during activation, but not invincible immediately after activation.
When you’re in human form you can take damage but in this case he was in Sin Devil Trigger mode, so maybe that’s why he was invulnerable during the activation
@@borismarck9200 you gain invulnerability when performing hell on earth for a certain time but you see him take damage so I just found it weird the concentration didn’t go down

Try going to the void and repeating it over and over until you get the timing down. some people use the visual method of watching the Yamato as virgil sheathes it to release, but i've found it much simpler to time it on sound cues. Keep in mind that perfect JCs care slightly faster and more forgiving while in the air and also that they are faster still when in SDT. You need to adjust your timing just a little bit depending on what form you're in and if you're on the ground vs midair. hope this helps you get it.
What worked for me is to just hold and release triangle (if your on ps4/5) to a rhythm. Keep adjusting it till you get the perfect judgement cuts, and eventually it just becomes muscle memory
Yes listen to the sound of the JC slash effect - IMMEDIATELY after you hear it tone down, release the Y or triangle to then hold down the next and continue to repeat until the third perfect JC and “jack pot” 👌

Also if you do void slash but don’t cancel the animation of him sheathing the sword then you will gain DT

I'm gonna assume that the multiple heads coming out all take damage independently of the body so it literally just tripled up, insane tho
