You used it on a piece of bark. Much more air and it seemed zero wind. It failed twice for me in the wilds but I'll try again. Thanks James. Not bad for your second ever video!

Thank you so much for watching these old videos! There's actually some pretty good content there and I probably should remake some of them.

Just recently used this and it seems to work well..... I've always been around and used cedar.....but I still carry a package of this in my OS Pack.

It does indeed work pretty well! Glad you like it. I also like the natural tinders.

I just tried this out not long ago...I liked it. Cant' beat it for the price! I was going to make a video on it but you beat me to it LOL It did burn quite a while, too and doesn't hurt the environment. Sounds almost too good to be true, right?

Yes. I'm not sure why it only has a 5 year shelf life, that to me is the only feature I don't like. My philosophy is that if you find something you like, buy a lifetime supply because in a few years, when the market is saturated or demand falls off, it won't be available anymore. This has happened to a lot of great products. Unfortunately, the survival and bushcraft community is not that big worldwide and so a lot of unique, niche products don't stay on the shelves very long even though they are awesome and do a great job.

I bought quite a few and set some aside in proper storage, to see how well it will perform after its expiration. I agree, many products disappear, simply because they don't have enough time to catch on and there are not enough of "us". I would think that this product will probably last longer than 5 yrs but I'm thinking that maybe it'll sort of dissolve itself (not sure how to better word that) based on what it's made of. We'll know in 5 years, right? LOL Did you make that striker yourself? I need to find me something like that!!! I still have a Maya Dust Pile challenge to win and that would come in real handy!!! 😉😅😅

You can find them online at www.speedysharp.com, they are about 12 dollars and are actually made to sharpen blades. But the carbide on them, which never goes dull, generates sparks better than anything I have ever tried and because it's a sharpener, it's multi-purpose.
