I bought the 65" A80L from a 18yr old Samsung Plasma as my first intro to OLED TVs, and I'm blown away with how accurate this picture is out of the box using the Custom mode!!!
I like these Sonys and the quality is top notch but if you buy one and you use both consoles then it’s best to run them through your AVR if it’s new enough and has all the gaming features and/or soundbar that way you really only need the one HDMI 2.1 port. A switcher would also work if you don’t want to use external sound.
@@ahmedmohmed4346 because eARC/ARC is too unreliable and it’s much easier running everything straight through an AVR. I’m using the Denon X4800H and I made sure it had all gaming features before I bought it and can confirm that there is no noticeable input lag.
Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a comparison with the Hisense U8K and Samsung S90C, as it has pretty much come down to those two for me, for my next TV. I'm kind of wanting to experience OLED, since I've never owned one, but all my TV's double as monitors and are on a lot, so I've been leery of getting one - but I might say to hell with it and chance it if I can be convinced the experience is worth the extra money over something like the Hisense, and after reading and watching a gazillion reviews, it seems there's a general consensus that the S90C is the "best bang for the buck" OLED this year. I think I'd put more stock in your opinion on the matter, since you'd probably be judging them more in line with how I would, just a regular guy wanting an all-around good experience when watching content and playing games, rather than a bunch of tech spec D-measuring. ;)
Great video brother. I got the A80l 2 days ago and I’m having a hard time with game mode. Basically, as soon as I turned on the ps5, the tv converts it to game mode and the colors flatten/dim terribly leaving the picture looking the opposite of what I paid for lol. It’s also impossible to adjust most settings while in game mode. Any thoughts?
Go to settings > picture > colour > change colour temperature from expert 1 to cool and thats it. Colour will be changed to normal view and you can enjoy game mode. Hope this helps
@@novindar hey sorry my English is not perfect, but thanks to you I was able to find a normal image and remove this strange yellow filter.. Having acquired an A80L recently, I was surprised by this yellow filter and I found it a not very disturbing... I just came back from a C1, that's probably why I'm not used to it. But I've now set the color to Cool and it's fine. Thanks to you !
No it doesn't, I have measured inputlag with reality creation and it doesn't change, if its available while using game mode it doesn't affect it, only if its grayed out.
I mean, just going on the reviews I've seen, and comments by people who've bought it, I think most people would agree that the A95K would be a clear winner, but you could almost buy two of the A90L sets for the price of a single A95K, so....
@@Grimlock987 First off, the C3 is very nice TV. I was somewhat kidding about it being obsolete. That said, the S89/S90 is QD OLED which is a better panel, and will provide better color and brightness, period. Honestly, it comes down to value in the end as both Tv's will do just fine. I purchased the S89C 2 weeks ago as it was $1800 for 77inch and is same as S90 and 2nd gen QD OLED. Great TV. Do your research. Plenty of Videos out there. I found the Best Buy employees not 100% helpful. Good luck.
One thing that sucks about this tv is u have to put the spundbar into port 3 so you lose a port for gamimg port 1 and 2 has stupid lag the c3 is much better sending this crap back and getting another LG C3
Really wanted to get this TV as I have had Sony TV's for years and had really good luck on them. HOWEVER, I ended up with a 77 inch S89C bought at Best Buy for $1800. The s89C is the best gaming TV out there. I agree with this reviewer, why does Sony only include 2 HDMI 2.1 ports???? This TV is $900 more than the S89, and $400 more than the C3 and S90. I love Sony but Sony is FONY on their TV pricing.
I’m looking to upgrade from the LGC1 and I’m debating between LGC3 or S90C but S90C has a handful of issues that put me off so I’m debating Joel lmk is the brightness good I’ll use it for my PS5 XBSX and Switch OLED
Good to know, I have looked at the S90C too..but after the dud I have on the Samsung Qn90b I would rather pay a little more for a Sony OLED LG C3 would be great, but my gaming tv would be in the same room with my family tv and that is a CX and I have had issues in the past with two f the same Brand
@ahmedmohmed4346 it's what I always find with lg and sony, literally every single year.... I get excited for the new years tv's I do research and then I find sacrifices. Lg low color luminance, sony no hgig, usually lower hdr brightness and only 2 hdmi 2.1 ports, plus bs "perfect for ps5" marketing that means nothing. If you can forgive a few glitches, samsumg always makes up for it in value and never comprises in game mode on the oleds.
lol people crying about 2 hdmi ports. 😂. Idgad about 4 ports. I want the best picture for movies and live tv along with 1 port for my game. Y’all dudes complain too much. Go buy a lg just for gaming and have shitty video quality

How is the sdr in game mode?

I thought it had to be on enhanced format to play 120hz?
Thanks Joel
I'm curious why on spider man you had motion blur on in the game settings
Joelster here, which other TV would you like to see me review, the TCL QM8, the Samsung S90C or the LG C3 Oled? 🔥🚨

S89/S90 is the better gaming TV. Even without DV it blows the C3 away. C3 is obsolete now. Don't buy an obsolete TV
