Just had both eyes injected at same time, 6th time 2nd day and already seeing an improvement in clearing fuzzy vision, well worth it. Bit traumatic but no pain , if your offered it don't refuse. Good luck.

How many times a month do you do this ? And do you see the improvement, and afterward, do you see the eye returning back to its normal blur vision ? Are you always having to have these shots in order to retain the vision ?

I wish I saw this video before my first one, but my doctor who did it was VERY good at putting me at ease and informing me. These aren't really bad - I mean I'd rather not ever get them, but they really aren't bad even though they sound like something you couldn't even live through from the pain and fear. It's quick and painless. Anyone who is reading this because you're scared please try to relax and realize it will be over very quickly and you'll be fine, as hard as it is to believe.

@mheyrie I just went again this very morning and it has been 12 weeks - as my eyes remain stable and improve they widen the time between shots - and o felt a LITTLE fear because it's been so long but yet again it was so fast and painless. The pain comes afterwards when one of the drops they had put in kind of stings - it is the drop and NOT the injection site. But the injection, in all honesty, is super quick and painless and easy. Don't freak out. Be a little scared maybe but just keep thinking about how when it's done you're going to walk out as if nothing happened literally.

my steroid eye injection for uveitis was super strange, a nurse applied numbing eye drops three times, five minutes in between each time that felt like a cold sizzle each time. I knew what was coming so I could mentally prepare and steel my nerves somewhat. When the injection happened there was no pain whatsoever but there *absolutely* was a sensation of pressure. It felt like getting an injection in my gums after novacaine, except in my eye. I was very stressed about whether moving my eyes around would affect anything, but I remember trying to shift my vision so I wasn't looking directly at the doctor and it turned out fine. Like the video said, you never even see the needle. This was two weeks ago and my uveitis is clearing up very well.

In November 2021 I noticed my right eye had lost sharp focal ability. Test revealed a hemorrhage on my macular. Started with eye injections each 4 weeks. Stopped the injections in July 2022 but noticed my right eye vision beginning to blur again by September. The hemorrhage had started to come back. Since then I have had 5 more injections. Now waiting 6 weeks between injections. Vision has improved. Injection pain? Yes, but it's just for a few seconds and it's what the Dr. calls "pressure". I have told friends it's like an ice cream "brain freeze" in your eye.

Using a cartoonish-looking eye character to demonstrate does not minimize the anxiety most of us have about the idea of having a needle jabbed into our eye ball.
Would it be possible for someone to have three or four cocktails before having the procedure done?

I get this injection every two to three months. I don't dread it. I entertain myself with my iPhone while waiting for the numbing drops to work. The shot itself is momentary and there is little to no pain. If you were walking down the street and felt this in your eye you would barely notice it. Sometimes there is no discomfort afterward but sometimes the eye aches for a while. I'm not sure why the difference.

Because the procedure is “tolerable,” which is med-speak for it is going to hurt or later be painful.

I have scanned the internet for a personal video made by someone who received one of these injections, but have found none.
Most are made by doctors who use terms like the procedure in well tolerated by patients. Well tolerated are two words that give me little comfort.

Not a little burning with mine is like a hot poker going in my eye enough that I’m gripping on the sides of the eye chair that leaves me with nausea and a headache for a good hour after my injection. I realize it’s debated dying, but it’s sucky and I regret getting them All the time even though it does help my sight it’s terrible. I wish they come out with a less burning Betadine

Has anyone missed a shot after this procedure? Does the blurry vision come back if you miss ? And is it a temporary fix ? So every month you must return to have it done ? Like an drug that you need always to keep the vision? Do you see better afterwards for how long , are yoh dependent on the shot ?
