If it's a registered Service Dog it can go into any store, shop, grocer's, restaurant - any business - in Canada, and I imagine the laws are similar for the US.

@@TakaAmun A true service dog is not supposed to be carried...ride in buggies etc...supposed to be on a leash on floor. But really how is the dog supposed to alert to anything if it's movements are limited.? What would it alert to....when she starts cussing.? Which seems to be pretty regular.
I've seen too many people abuse the system just to bring their pet into places where they shouldn't be. I know Tractor Supply...Lowes & Home Depot people can bring a Well behaved dog into there. I take my dog Alot. But lotta people think just because it's a little dog that it's ok. Also they aren't supposed to be petted while on duty...but she is tho. This is everything I've read. @@user-lc7zt6lt7o Agree with most everything you say. That was a more concise statement than what seemed like a generalization originally, and I may have taken it incorrectly, despite the intended spirit of it.
I'm not familiar with specific local laws, but here Service Animals aren't strictly for alerting, and can be held because PTSD or similar trauma types simply require comfort. In the case of Tourette's, it's not apt to alert, but it may serve to calm the owner.
This is just supposition, I only know we allow a declared (that's the loop hole) Service Animal essentially anywhere.
Also the reason none of these stores challenge, because they can't demand proof, or at least in Canada. Animal *must* be registered, but neither registration papers, nor a Service vest are actually required, and can't be asked for 🙄
