    At 0:27 you mean round off right as right hand first and twist left? If you continue to twist in tsukahara vaults it would be to left ant Kasamatsu to the right... Do you think kasamatsu is easier for guirls than Tsukahara full? Very ihnteresting video, thank you!

    • @savingtenths
      @savingtenths  2 роки тому +1

      Yes. Right foot forward/Right hand down would equal round off right and twist right. Continue in the same direction.
      Tsuk is right/left. Kaz is right/right. Vice versa. Yes much easier for both men and women

      @@savingtenths Tsuk and Kaz don't necessarily twist in different directions, you can definitely do Tsuk entry and keep twisting in the same direction. The Kaz just does 1/4-on entry rather than 1/2-on. The body passing through multiple planes means turning sideways with 1/4-on entry and then 1/4 again in the air and in the same direction (Kaz) puts you forward in the air: the same as turning 1/2 on the entry and then 1/2 again after the entry.

    • @Zuranthium
      @Zuranthium Рік тому

      @@carsonrein9913 You can do Tsuk right/right or left/left. I'm not sure why this channel is saying otherwise. It's a modern misconception among many people it seems about the actual difference between Tsuk and Kas vaults.

      @@savingtenthsround of with right hand down is actually left twisting. Analyse trampolinist doing half in (wich equalls the round of) full out. You can see that it is left side twisting if the half in is the same side as right hand down roundoff

  • @sebastiaanfrancois4796
    @sebastiaanfrancois4796 День тому

    This actually a big misconception on gymnastics. Round of with right hand down first is actually left side twisting. 2 ways to analyse: 1) look at plane through wich the left shoulder moves when you go from standing to placing the right hand down (the right should will move forward and left shoulder will move backwards = left side twist). 2) look at trampolinist doing half in full out. You can see the direction of the stomach to compare the half in to the round off. Here you will see that when the stomach goes to the left (like in a round off with right hand down first) will finish in a full out twisting left. This means its left side twisting. Otherwise you would end up with a weird move that is almost impossible to do

    I’m working on a kaz and was wondering if I should be spotting something? And should I be emphasizing the front tuck part or go straight to the twisting?

    • @savingtenths
      @savingtenths  2 роки тому

      I’d recommend doing side somersaults off the table then 3/4 out rather than going straight to the front tuck. Try and look at your second hand block

  • @nickselleck4680
    @nickselleck4680 2 роки тому

    why is it that we turn the hand out opposite of floor ( the upside down "T") is there a better block? less injury ? i feel like it would be harder on the wrist and harder to block, i just want to know why teach it that way ive never seen it taught that way and want to know out of curiosity

    • @savingtenths
      @savingtenths  2 роки тому

      On floor your acro tumbling stays the same height. So you turn your hand in for the backward momentum into the back handspring. (Round off and back handspring behind the same height). Vault we use the cartwheel/round off to block up. Coming in low, and blocking up and off the table. Not going over and down. Turning the hand out provides this solution and is actually better for the wrist. You want to block down on the table through vertical to give you height. Turning the hand like floor gives more of a push action. I hope that helps!

    im still confused.. so the hands should be normal for tsuk (first hand forward, second turned in-twisting opposite directions), and both turned out for kaz (twisting same direction), and both slightly turned in for yurchenko (bhs)??

    • @savingtenths
      @savingtenths  2 роки тому

      Yes I think it’s best for Kaz/Tsuk hands turned out. Yurchenko, hands in

  • @Chancexoxo
    @Chancexoxo Рік тому +1

    I under the first hand but why is the second hand turned in that direction?

    • @savingtenths
      @savingtenths  Рік тому

      If the hand/fingers are turned back towards the springboard, they’ve
      1) over turned too early, 2) won’t leave the table before vertical and 3) it will turn into more of a push and flip.
      We want to block down and fast into the table during the entry. Not push off and flip after vertical

    are the Tsuk and Kaz worth the same in JO?

  • @TinyHouseHomestead
    @TinyHouseHomestead Рік тому +1

    Simply they are two different skills, a TsukFull is a RoundOff FullTwist Back twisting the same direction (1 1/2 twists total) and Kasa is a 1/4 on 1/4 off (opposite twisting) then BraniOut (1/1 twist total)! There are several ways to teach each, and it depends on how the gymnasts learned basic cartwheeling, roundoffing, flipping, and twisting! And all these should based upon the acro kinesthetic evaluation of the gymnast from day one! Gymnastics is a just a game of "ADDON"! 😱😁🤣😝🤪👍👍🇺🇲

    • @savingtenths
      @savingtenths  Рік тому

      Kaz twists the same direction where a Tsuk 1/1 can technically twist either direction but most probably will twist the opposite direction to the entry.
      Kaz will ALWAYS twist in the same direction, there‘a no other way.

    • @kenjikeda
      @kenjikeda 9 місяців тому

      Kasamatsu twists the opposite from a roundoff and tsukahara is the same twist direction actually. A right lunging roundoff is a left twist and a left lunge roundoff is a right twist.

    • @TinyHouseHomestead
      @TinyHouseHomestead 8 місяців тому +1

      @@savingtenthsNope, you are completely wrong, Kaz twists opposite direction, the first 1/4 on is one direction, the next 3/4 twist is the opposite direction, You need to learn twisting mechanics! 😱🤣🤪👍👍🇺🇸

      @@kenjikedaA Kaz doesn't even do a "roundoff", it is a 1/4 on one direction and 1/4 off the other direction, then a Brani out! A Kaz is a Tensica Brani Out! You do a 1/4 twist in one direction and then the 3/4 twist the other direction! 😱🤣🤪👍👍🇺🇸

    Why do you turn the first hand that way? Not meant to be challenging. I’m genuinely curious.

    • @savingtenths
      @savingtenths  2 роки тому +1

      Great question! To absorb the impact as they’re coming in, bringing their elbow into their body, rather to the side if their hand (fingers) were forward. It’s all about absorbing the impact, to get the second hand in as fast as possible!

      @@savingtenths Excellent video! Still curious about the hands - I generally understood the job of the first hand being to push hard in order to give the second an easier time blocking?

    • @savingtenths
      @savingtenths  2 роки тому +1

      Hands facing forward causes too much wrist flexion. Also elbow will bend to the side rather than down, so if that hand is turned down, the elbow can act like a spring to carry on your block up. Rather than potentially hurting your wrist, and elbow energy going sideways.

      @@savingtenths Nerding out about this... just rewatched the Tokyo Women's Vault Finals which featured one doing hand fwd (Yurchenko/Cheng entry), one sideways, and one back like you're suggesting. I'm going to play around with hand backwards at the gym because you make some good points here, and because Alexa Moreno uses that technique and she's an undeniable monster! Ultimately I think it might come down to where each gymnast feels the strongest?
