"That one should not have hit me." Dark souls in a nutshell.
shout out to all the ones that should have hit but didnt
When the side swing comes as part of a combo attack like it did there, I think that's when it can still hit you
My exact thought was "Welcome to dark souls"
when the attack goes through 2 flights of stairs into the next room
How's 2022 8 year old comment
Whoever designed the hall was a fool, it clearly didn't need any of the columns for support.
agreed
+aaron4820
Actually, you are incorrect. Dark Souls is set in a kind of late-medieval period, depending on the area; the architecture varies. In particularly you'll note that Anor Londo features gothic structures typical of european constructions of around the 1300-1400 period. You'll note that most of the buildings in Anor Londo include flying buttresses to transfer the load outward, allowing to larger interiors. Although they obviously have access to steel, I doubt that steel-reinforced concrete was used; you can see most of the structural materials are stone slabs. For such a large interior (even with flying buttresses) you would definitely still need internal supports. I don't think these pillars are vaulted, which means this structure would not actually be possible with their materials. If the pillars were vaulted, then the destruction of even one of them would most likely result in (at least partial) collapse of the building.
As a structural engineer I've analysed much of the buildings in Dark Souls and most of the buildings in Anor Londo must be held together with "magic". In particular the building with the 'Painted World' would be highly problematic.
Torgo That was a really interesting response, thank you for that. I was making a joke from the fact that every single pillar was destroyed by the fat one and the building was still standing, therefore it's safe to conclude that they were redundant in the first place.
+aaron4820
Haha, yeah I know. It's just interesting to analyse these structures anyway. In fact many people believe that Anor Londo itself is just a "dream" of the player character, especially if you notice how when you kill enemies they disappear mysteriously (instead of turning into ragdolls).
When you take things into account (like the corkscrew elevators, etc.) It's apparent that you're right, the whole place is held together with magic glue so the columns must be purely aesthetic.
+Torgo the theory that I came up with was that Gwyndolin is using his magic to create all the enemies in the area. We know that he was creating an illusion of Gywnevere and also creating a false sun in the area. Also if you kill Gwyndolin all of the enemies except the painted guardians no longer spawn, presumably because he cannot create them any more being dead and all.
With this in mind it is easy to come to the conclusion that Gwyndolin is magically creating all of the enemies and even the bosses, explaining why there bodies kind of fizzle away on death instead of rag-dolling.
Also Anor Londo was created by shape shifting gods who could change size at will so magic seems to be the answer to how they do most of their amazing shit :)
I'm starting to make progress everyday on this boss
+Arno van der Veek Lmao. I just beat Ds3 6 times. I'm rebuying a ps3 to finish this game.
Arno van der Veek I'm in the same zone as you -yesterday I aaaaaaalmost had it. I've been trying for 50 times now. once I've finished this game, I'm moving from X360 to XOne
Nobody cares about how many times you finish the game :D
ds1 is way better. Ds3 just sucks
xbox one gets backwards comparability bitch and why the fuck would you buy an entirely new console for one game?
Funny how Solaire was slammed into another world because of Smough's butt.
3:46
ButtCatt Nah he just slipped right on in there.
+Horse Master Boss Your comment is pure genius. Needs more likes.
Yeah it's a bit too devastating for solaire right there
yeah i guess you could say Solaire got a hole lot of experience from that fight
My Solaire was so badass he killed Smough before I could kill Ornstein... Super Ornstein is so much harder... Why, Solaire?
lol
+Τριαντάφυλλος Τσιακίρης Really? When I summoned him, he just got fucked by Ornstein.
At least if you kill super pornstein you will get an epic armor instead of a goofy one
+Jehn Seena
Not get, you will be able to buy his armor
For some reason, I find Super Smough tougher. I'm not entirely sure why, but it might be cause I fought Super Smough on New Game Plus One, and fought Super Ornstein on normal game.
Dark Souls narrated by Owen Wilson
Austin Saylor
Oh my god hahaha
Haha YES! Good call!
wow
i had to do it
WOW
when you summon Solaire and he doesnt follow you into the boss room :(
It herts
Nope
Wtf man
I love how Solaire is doing really well in this fight... when I fought Smough, he just kept getting stun-locked by his lightning ass attack. Thanks Solaire, you're a really bad tank! :c
+Temmie with me, he was dead within 10 seconds.
Problems for me:
I can't use a shield with my character. I will do little to no damage if I attack one handed.
Solaire is really something else.
Fights the two giant sentinels taking off half his health, then dies immediately to Ornstein.
Solutions: get the light and stable balder shield from the merchant in sens fortress. Upgrade it to +5 and you're good to go. And kill the sentinels before you summon solaire. This may take some practice, but you'll get there.
Skill issue
RnG is also a factor; Smough v2 always spams the super mario buttslam when I have to get close for a hit
"So whichever one you kill first is gonna absorb the power of the other one and become stronger."
Uhhh...
E-102 Gamma wow thats fucking great ive came close to killing skinny bird overthere and i havent even touched fat ass
Ethan Mena XD
I fucking murdered soliar in one hit and cried.
E-102 Gamma I'm scewed luckly there's a thing called soul spear witch can beat them like 100000000000000000000000x simpler
Ethan Mena your comment made my damn day
Easy solo strategy (no NPC):
Phase one:
1.) Line them both up. Keep walking backwards, around the entire arena nonstop, making them chase you. While doing so, you want the fatty to be infront of the other guy. The fatty is going to block his attacks for you.
2.) You can dodge all attacks of the fatty by simply walking backwards and if you are insecure, you can roll once or twice backwards.
3.) Whenever he does an attack, punish him. I suggest a long-reaching weapon, like the halberd. Just do a R1 attack and back off.
Rinse and repeat until phase one is over.
If you execute these steps properly, you should not lose any HP. The only problem arises when the thin guy dashes through and you have your camera locked onto the fatty. So he gets out of vision, potentially positioning himself behind you and ram you.
First of all, you should prevent that situation from ever happening. But if it does happen, here is what you do: Unlock the cam or focus the thing guy to hold your shield up against him. Then try to run behind the fatty.
Phase two:
This is basically just like phase one, except without step 1.
Kite / run backwards, use lightning resistant armor and shield. You should lose HP very minimally.
Dodge his charges sideways. Do not be too close to him, he can electrically charge and impale you with his spear, doing 50% hp dmg or more.
And even if that somehow happens, you still got ample tie to pop a pot. The AI is not quick enough to punish you, so you can >always< recover from that as long as you spam that while standing up.
Perhaps one tip: If you can manage it, make him charge at a pillar. So when you predict that he is gonna charge, position yourself behind a pilar. That usually stops him. And then punish him immediately in return, do NOT be greedy - step in, 1 slap, step out.
Even if you are 100% hp and he is 5% hp, don't. Shit can go really wrong! Trust me!
:')
THANK YOU MAN
if he charges against a pillar it just pauses his charge and he then randomly proceeds to charge afterwards, the thin one can also just hit u through the fat one…
@@neomizo™yeah, it’s BS and none of the tips work. This is the fight designed for META BUILDS!! I’m running around with my upgraded morning star and level 1 pyromacy. The fight is a joke.
Ornstein & Smough: 👎
Thin guy & fatty: 👍
and here I am...Finally beating the gargoyles...
Lochlyn Gilberd yeh but much easier to kill
did anyone just have smough spam the fuck out of the lightning butt slam at 20% health?
Yep. On NG I could handle it, but on NG+ I had to kill Smough first. Powered-up Ornstein is not that bad. At least he doesn't have instakill moves.
Bindair Dundat Yeah it took me forever to find out how much easier it was for me to defeat super Ornstein
Wonderboy Yup. i had Orenstein lighting spearing me in the corner Smough butt slam spamming and Solaire was just blocking 10FT away.
Seems like Solare was telling you with your actions that shouldn't have been in a corner NOT blocking and where he was BLOCKING.
DS is a game that teaches lessons if you pay attention. Notice how Solare WASN'T getting gangbanged in the corner?
Now you get it.
Right, how about you show it to people without the phantom? Some people might not have any humanity.
or might have accidently killed Solaire :/
Mantis Okay, now see... that is actually a good reason to have a problem with this strategy. I hate when people say they have no humanity. Humanity is a huge mechanic of the game... go get it.
But my guides are not the "This is the definite way to win" guide. There are dozens of different ways to beat each boss in this game and I can't make a video for every variation or every person's personal situation. My guides are about the simplest strategy in combination with the most commonly used play-style -- sword and shield.
Here's the how to beat every boss super easy mode: Make a Mage character with Crystal Soul Spear... kill nearly every boss with two shots.
TerraMantis
Don't get me wrong. I am in no way critizising you or your Guide :D
TerraMantis Getting humanity is easy, but staying unhollowed long enough to kill the two royal sentinels is just downright impossible, at least on PC. You have maybe 60 seconds top to live once you reverse hollowing, until a high level player shows up to kill you. If you happen to be wearing the silver knight gear, you're probably not going to win in PvP. I tried summoning without killing the sentinels, but the phantom didn't join me for the boss fight.
WeirdDNA
Im sorry to say this, but that's how the game is supposed to be. :D
On my first playthrough, I learnt that there was a summon for the boss fight, but I had no humanity. In order to get some humanity, I killed Solaire. After I was in human-form, I went to the summon location and there was no summon sign there. I did some research, and... yeah. I killed my summon and realized the mistake I made. I face-palmed very hard.
Nah don't buy that, why the fuck would you kill solaire?
Wtf did you kill solaire
Biggest mistake of my life. Granted, it was quite a while ago and I was rather younger then too.
@tsorig_5387 young, dumb, and full of c*m....
That is after O&S ran a train on your ass.
Just joking ofc. I started my first serious Ds1 game after I played Elden Ring. I was having a real hard time with the difficulty curve and just how the game mechanics worked in general. I also kept starting a game while a little tipsy, so it was MORE difficult, and when I would return to the game I'd have no damned idea what I was doing....
Anyway, long story short, I'm finally enjoying the masochist journey of Dark Souls, and I just got to Ornstein and Smough. Only a few tries in so far, but I wanted to watch gameplay and see if it was worth getting humanity to summon. Which I think I want to do now. Also I found out there's a boss you should kill before O&S if you want his armor set.
Play on, I'm loving this shit myself.
Gahdamn i killed solaire when i first met him, that’s why I suffered in gargoyles now im in anor londo bymyself
Level 62. Black Knight sword PLUS FOUR. Estus +3 33 hours logged into this game and I still cannot beat this fucking prancer and porkchop
BKS is awful
+Mr Sister Fister you what m9
Guys i fucking did it. Three fucking years and i absolutely fuckinh destroyed them
+Imperator Houlihan hooray 😄
Go for ornstein first use something with reach like the great scythe or the halberd then cheese smough behind one of the pillars. Easy.
i need a small guide on how to defeat them alone... im out of humanity
You can farm humanity from the rats in the depths. There is also a nearby bonfire there.
I'm on my first playthrough and I finally beat these two. After what seemed like an eternity of trial and error. I mustered up enough concentration and moxy to defeat them. What a thrill, I could feel my heart racing as Smough had just 2 hits left. Cant wait to see what's next.
Boobs
He forgot to mention that he was using a pretty powerful weapon against those two. Which helps ALOT.
True enough, quelaag's furysword is powerful, but it's also rather easy to obtain when you're this far into the game. You already have her soul after you killed her in blighttown, so all you need is a +10 curved sword and 5k souls, both of which are easy to grind up when you're in anor londo / sen's fortress. If you haven't spent your demon titanite on anything thus far you'll also be able to up it to +5 immediately when you get it.
silver knight sword + 5 wrecks them so badly and buff it ooohh booy so easy
3:47 poor Solaire got bug down the planet T^T
Damn
I still don't understand why the bosses act different in the youtube videos I see, that attack at 5:35 looks so easy to evade, but when i'm playing the hammer seems to have an autolock on me so even if I roll it hits me everytime. Do you guys mod the game or what?
EDIT. OK so now I have 150+ hours on this game and I think I know why this happens, if you're new in this game read this:
This guys dodges the attacks relatively easy because he's using a medium armor, if you use a heavy armor you character will be HEAVIER and SLOWER and the attacks will be harder to dodge.
Had the same thought but in the end i just stick my character sort of inside of Smough. I hate that hammer because it has its own hitbox and act as a shield too.
Auzep i think so too, the bosses on youtube look so noob...
mine are so smart...
i play on PC tho
Sheridon S. Kaleb
It doesn't matter if you're playing on pc, everything is just as hard as on console. Usually when youtubers upload something it's their best try, so it's probably just chance the bosses seem dumb.
quelags furry sword is like the best in the whole game for the power to weight ratio. its so light and just keeps chopping.
just look up best dark souls weapons?
dingosatemybaby
Best weapon is great sythe
3:45 is so powerful it made Solaire disappear into the ground!
man...i failed 20+ times on this boss, tried rolling tactics naked taktics, hiding behind a pillar 10 min with barely even scratching the fatty, and the final wipe was when i got him just to 1 bar i split a keyboard in half(cried afterwards) after the last time i died I finaly got to that point where i go and watch guides on the net.i beaten him the first try after watching your video :) THX ALOT SIR!!!the tip about he not damaging u with the swipe attack did the trick i offloaded on the bitch :)
Bro how old r u now i wanna know
@@casual0014bro why you asking
@@Raad2777 Because it was 9 years ago that he was playing now where is he
You forgot to mention the fact that you're using Eagle Shield. All of the attacks that wouldn't be blockable with a normal shield can be blocked with a greatshield like Eagle Shield (except for butt slam), which makes the fight much easier.
I remember beating this boss on my like 3rd try and feeling good about myself, then every play through after I got absolutely destroyed so I guess I got lucky
Do you have one for NG+ with Smough dieing first
Is there an alternative to Qualegs Fury Sword? I have the lighting spear but i dont think it does a lotta damage :/
I killed Lautrec after Smoughstein and got his armor
Just killed them after a bunch of tries, 6 or 7. I highly recommend to finish secondary worlds/bosses before going through this fight (i.e. Painted World of Ariamis and Northern Undead Asylym). With a Black Knight Sword +1 TWO HANDED and 10 or 8 Estus should be enough. It's important to dash through the enemies before the fight from the respawn of Anor Londo's bonfire. A tip for Smough: when he runs to you with the hammer pointing forward, just run against him and dash forward as well, you'll dash the attack and gain almost 2 seconds to damage him a bit. But be careful and sure that Orstein is not preparing an attack at the same time!
PS: If you find these ones difficult, prepare for the 'next round' because it's a fucking nightmare.
Does my Claymore +10 with knight shield +1 good enough for this boss battle or do I need better weapon and shield?
if u have help in battle how do u let the player know to kill the one u want first? what message should be written to let them know?
Try to get the black knight sword/greatsword. I used Havel's set and that to kill them, it's still hard due to how slow you're but the BK sword should make up fot that.
Also, I have a personal recommendation to killing Smough and Ornstein. Use crystal halberd or other crystal weapons. I used the crystal halberd and I killed Ornstein in like 5-7 hits and Phase 2 Smough around 9-19 hits
If you can get quelaags sword then it's gg to them lol. My first playthrough and I beat them in 2 attempts even though in one of smoughs hit I should've died but I was as healing at the same time and I didn't die?
Does it need to be upgraded?
would it be possible to do this with SO I keep dying whenever I am rlly close to killing him
Very detailed guide! You should make more guides like this.
Thanks for help!
"Easy Ornstein and Smough" in a Video title.
I not knew that this would be possible...
How to defeat Ornstein and Smough realy easy
- full upgraden giant armor with the giant shield
-full upgraden Black Knight Halberd
Fully upgrading those items is harder than this boss
@@ahmet240sx not if you find the giant blacksmith. Bro sells twinkling titanie lmao
What shield should I use, I have put lots of points into endurance so will the balder shield do me fine?
What +? level pyromancers flame were you using and how high is you intelligence for magic attacks?
That's nice and all, but why does your sword do metric shit tons more damage than mine? It shouldn't be that different.
It's probably the scaling. I'm not too sure what qualaag's sword's scaling is but I assume it's useful as a dexterity weapon more than a strength or magic weapon. Someone correct me :P I'm not too sure but I'd assume that's why he lands large hits.
andomitor8 Dexterity and Humanity
because it's a bad how to
"It has really high lighting resistance, and you're gonna need that." Lol.
Did he show what level his pyro flame glove was at? As well as that eagle shield he was using?
smough flattened solaire so hard, the notification of his vanquishment took ages to appear
“That one should not have hit me”
That’s what they all say homeboy....
How do you define "easy"? An easy boss would be one most players can beat on their first try without reading or watching a guide first. If "easy" means finding a weapon that exploits their weakness, using an armor set that resists their attacks and studying their moves to dodge them, then the whole game is easy. I'm not saying the game should be easier. I'm fine with the difficulty. But it doesn't help anyone to call something it isn't.
No, that's a casul boss.
i mean... its making it easier than it would be normally? perspective matters family. plus youre the one trying to cheese a dark souls boss then complain ab being able to cheese a dark souls boss.
did you kill the giants at the entrance first?
coz whenever i summon solaire, they attack him a lot and he can never last the entire fight one on one when i split the bosses. He dies mid fight and i get screwed over. any help? and they are hard to kill also
Thank you! I would have missed Lautrec's armor if you hadn't said anything about it, and the guide itself was very helpful!
Did anyone else notice smough butt slammed Solaris so hard he disappeared from the video no message or nothing
Npcs. The fuck. Sol was taking smough to the face like a champ
This fight is so much easier when you can ignore one of them for the first half.
um i need halp u see i have run out ov humanity and weel i cant summon solaire so i have to solo the fight as a wizard who is not very good with the furysword. anyway any advice
You can farm Humanity (the item) from killing rats in The Depths.
what the hell? knight solaire disappeared when they were fighting smough and when the fight was over, it said knight solaire was vanquished 3 minutes after the fight was over. was this a glitch?
I remember getting killed many many times in my first playthrough. Just know this: Every Smough in every scenario is always super easy and the giant Ornstein is difficult.
Super O is really hard, but possible.
especially if its your first run and u didnt get help through the internet.
it was so hard for me xD i love it
solo or you fail the man test.
i went in there solo...i didnt even know it was the boss door...the surprise that it was them distracted me enough to get me killed.
took me 6 hours to beat em my first try with a +4 lightning bandits knife and eventually the use of the crystal halberd
still havent beaten them... although im using catarina set, tower kite shield, and quelags sword+2... im screwed.
sounds like you are too slow, shields are lame and usually terrible in boss battles
MorroWolf Shields are incredibly useful. Every boss I've fought I just circle around them with my shield. I don't do any rolling.
im not sure how the leveling system works in this game, if i put points in dexterity what does it do?
Where i can get the armor u e wearing?
Crap, I had the Serpent eat the Silver Knight armor.
Use the next best Lighting resist stats. Leather Chest, Hard Leather Gloves and black leather Trousers are all easy to obtain, fairly light and have okay resistance to lightning. If you've allowed the Firelink keeper to be killed by Lautrec then her 'Blood Stained Skirt' has the best magical and lightning resist in the game for leg armor, so use that if you can.
KrankuEDM He ate those too.
Jeffear Cowardly The next best gear for lightning is wanderer set located in Blight-town and the Thunder Stoneplate ring whihc you can buy from the crestfallen merchant in Sen's fortress.
Alternatively you could just face Ornstein and Smough using whatever gear you've got and try to dodge more frequently or use online co-op.
KrankuEDM He ate the Wanderer as well, and I killed the merchant...I should really plan ahead more.
Also, dodging is out of the question because my entire build is based being a juggernaut, a fat-rolling juggernaut that is.
Jeffear Cowardly you should probably get online co-op help at this point, unless you decided to feed all your fucking humanity to frampt.
Why do this videos show players with weapons doing 600-800 damage or summoning other players of "how to beat a boss" instead if using an unenchanted weapon with alright armor and a weapon that deals a fair amount of damage, thus creating an actual challenge. I want to see a true melee only character beating this game, from what I've seen most people stick to Mage classes or warrior Mage mixes, more towards the Mage, my point is is that I think most people posting how to videos on dark souls don't have any actual skills except the skill of either grinding out souls on Mage skills or looking for enchanted weapons, it makes these how to videos pointless.
Carlos Contreras I never really used magic in videogames. And I probably won't do in Dark Souls. At least I didn't use it so far. But the point of this video is to show an EASY way on how to kill them so it makes sense that he shows what you need to make this fight easy. I mean I didn't have any of that stuff and even used a halberd imbued with lightning for this fight and it wasn't that easy at all. In fact it still isn't. :D I've tried countless times. Got onehittet by that lightning slam countless times and never won that fight. So fighting without pyromancy or some fire weapons and without an armor that protects you from lightning makes that fight... well, not quite easy. :D
Though I've almost beaten him once without any of that stuff. But suddenly my controller started playing with me and pressed some random buttons on the D-Pad.
Instead of healing I was reducing my non existent poisoning and instead of fighting with my halberd I fought with Astora's straight sword, :DD
Haha I beat these two with a black knight halberd and wanderer clothing on, I seriously didn't find armor that useful in this game. It's weird though, when I started playing dark souls I thought of building a warrior tank because, it's always right to fall back to a melee class. Anyways I always liked getting the better armor in the game until I noticed that it slows me down more than I wanted to. So basically I found my "niche" in this game by creating a character with basically the lightest clothing(I don't even think wanderer clothing is even armor at all) I prefer to move fast and deal tons of damage. I don't think I'll ever use armor no matter how high my equip load is.
By the way, the only game I ever played where magic was actually useful was Skyrim. Mostly due to the fact that magic actually scales with the more you use it, it created an incentive to level up magic. Usually you would see the Mage character as very weak but if you focused on magic in elder scrolls you would pretty much become god like if all you used was magic.
Carlos Contreras hey Carlos, go check my fight against Ornstein and Smough on my channel. I think it corresponds to your definition of a melee fight.
Carlos Contreras bullshit
what ist the green "mist" surrounding you?
Is this the same area where you fight Aldrich in 3? Anor Londo I think?
wondering, how do you take down ornstien if smough dies first?
GCP: giant circumcision position, just watch out for but slam
just stay near he's croch and keep slicing away. when he does a stab-jump back attack stay close. when he butt slams just roll away because he's slam is much smaller then smoughs
Ornstein is pronounced "Ornshtein" like "Einstein", not Ornsteen.
That dragonslayer has German roots.
Hahhh
I followed your directions and somehow manage to beat both of them without my aide dying. Thank you.
My first time beating this boss I was alone. That feeling when you have passed them on your own.. that feeling.. didnt even know how to co-op then
This is my first playthrough and I'm fighting these two punks with silver knight armor and a black knight sword +3. Lost all my humanity and have none in store so I basically have to go solo on these bastards. I'm slowly developing a strategy though. Ornstein is pretty easy, smough is the one that kills me everytime because I forget to watch his movement sometimes. This fight is actually kinda fun...... Kinda.
Good luck. In my opinion ornstein and smough are the hardest boss encounter in any souls game. The maneaters in demons souls and smelter demon in dark souls 2 are also challenging. The thing about smough is he keeps reminding you that hes alot faster then one would assume, lol. The you got ornstein with his dashing spear thrust. In this fight i also keep doing laps around the arena, while i try to isolate one of them.
Steve Thickpenny *always
Steve Thickpenny fight Artorias
bubbajoe117 Sword Artorias Online....im sorry i had to....im sorry...
bubbajoe117 I have. Still stand by what i said. Fighting artorias is always a fun and challenging time. Its my badass knight against an equally badass knight.
Done, with no help and Hollow. GGWP
what was the gold ring you had on?
can you make one of these for Seath? that fight is ridiculously difficult...
pewdiepie used the exact equipment u advisedO.o i think he n00bed out
yea he did farm that sword tho
Honestly, this fight is easy as fuck if you go Ornstein first. Smough first, on the other hand, is something entirely else.
LATE AF: I killed lautrek but his armor isnt here? any help?
Is Ornsteins moveset the same as in ds2 sotfs?
I don't know why you can't pronounce both Smough's or Solaire's name correctly.
He is pronouncing Smough correctly, though...
Because there is nothing that indicates how they are 'supposed' to be pronounced.
eyegrinder94 I just say "Ohrnstine and Smoh."
Ben Ornstein is pronounced wrong aswell. "ohrnstine".

HOW TO EASY KILL ORNSTEIN & SMOUGH WITHOUT NPC OR ANY HELP:

Can Solaire be summoned again when we lose the first time against the boss?
I tried to beat ornstein and smough with solaire but I couldn't manage to kill them so I decided to go backtrack and level a scimitar into a quelagg's fury but when I came back to the bonfire solaire was not there anymore. To clairfy I am in NG and not NG+. Anyone else have this issue?
This fight is so fucking annoying. I'm almost lvl 100 and can't beat them. It's so stupid that you have to fight 74386598724 enemies on your way from the bonfire to every boss battle. I really like this game and i like its difficulty but if i won't beat these 2 in the next time, i will never play this shit again
Nevermind, I did it :D
Sam There was a bonfire in the castle, I am stuck in this fight but I only have to kill 3 normal enemies and then sprint, about 2 minutes to get to the boss fight everytime.
Giovan Doza I know, I meant the other boss battles, too. The way to Quelaag for example. I was very angry when i wrote this comment and it's ok now :D
Sam You can usually just run by the enemies and go straight for the fog wall, i recommend doing that.
Holy fuck lv 100
I beat them solo and I killed smough first! You have no idea how happy I am right now lmao
Same. Took me about 40 minutes
I never knew that you could summon Solaire!!
That is going to make this battle so much easier when I reach it! XD
What level was your pyromancy flame?
This boss ruined the fucking game for me. Solair keeps getting killed by the big dudes outside in the hallway, or ends up with half hp when we kill the guys outside. Horribly designed boss.
***** when i use a plunging attack the other golem woud kill me very easily, for my build atleast. also, does anyone play this game online with a PC? cant find anyone to pvp or pve with. and when i do, i get ganked
Just use a bow
or simply kill the sentinels BEFORE summoning solaire; that's definitely not the hard part, they can be picked one by one and killed, only be aware of their healing ability
you don't need solaire just use the crystal halberd and try separating ornstien from smough and lunge at him.
saleh106 And if you try to kill Smough first, THEN WHAT....
I felt like killing Smough first was easier for me IMO
How are you wearing that entire set with 18 endurance?
Would the dragon tooth and havel's armor work
I hate this fight, in fact, this part is the thing I hate the most from every single freaking video game I've played. By the time I got a clue on how to beat them, I had wasted my oportunities with the crystal halberd, made a wrong build and had no humanity left. On top of that, I could've easily created Quelag's fury blade if only I knew it would help me so much. After wasting so much time I'm starting to doubt if there is a point to continue on.
The other annoying things about the game, are that you can't travel between bonfires (before you beat O and S) to easily farm humanity (or for other purposes) and you can't F UPGRADE YOUR WEAPONS AT ONE VENDOR only. Why do I have to travel back trough sen's fortress, so that my +5 weapon can ascend to a +6 weapon??? Why do I have to search for another f vendor deep in one of the most frustrating areas, just so he can upgrade my weapon to fire ? This isn't making the game any harder, it just makes it cheap and infuriating!!!! Look at bloodborne. All of the above mentioned negatives are fixed and the game is still hard and fun.
+homerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Couldn't agree more, except about Ornstein and Smaugh. DS1 is all about being annoying rather than actually requiring skill, it's more an exercise in patience for doing the same thing over and over. O+S aren't bad though, kill em solo by taking out fatty first, then second phase keep pillar bottom between you and skinny and chuck dung bombs (make sure not to toxify yourself). Easy peasy.
Yeah I beat them last week and finished the game. Hardest fight in my gaming history, totally worth it. My mistake was trying to kill ornstein second, fatso was way easier.

You can also beat both of them very easily by pumping all of your souls into your GIT and GUD stats.
Quick question, which one would anyone say is easier? Ornstein with Smough’s powers or Smough with Ornstein’s powers?
what is the name of that sword?
too bad i accidentally killed solaire
OMFG just beat the boss like 20 minute fight all out of health dont fucking do this with a DRAKE SWORD its FUCKING crap!!!!! upgrade something before entering this boss is recommended i already beat this game and i still think this boss is ridiculous
+spacekees102 i agree but every one swears that the drake sword is all mighty & powerful when i get killed every time when i use it against ornstine & smough
+noah Charles yeah and lightning resistance gear right lol i did this boss on the second try with total noob gear im proud of myself finished all souls series and bloodborne in a high speed tempo but DS1 is way harder for me dno why xd
spacekees102 allot of people do not understand that lightning resistance gear does not protect you from omega ornstine & smough at close range i even used the havel rock gear & got better results because it protects against physical attacks as well as lightning but i got owned when using the silver knight gear because it protects from lightining but not so well from physical attacks.
also all stabbing weapons are useless against titan sized opponents like omega ornstine & smough because you keep missing
noah Charles true man and ranged also seems a good tactic for this boss to get some extra damage done
spacekees102 with quick ranged attacks smough is a cake walk but you will have to keep a distance & time your attacks carefully but ornstine isnt so easy on ng+ he is more dangerous at long ranges & can still dash toward you
Took me a *few* tries. But I finally did it.
I just kindled the bonfire twice to give me twenty estus flasks. I made it to the summoning sign with only a small amount of damage from those royal knights. Nineteen flasks at my disposal for the main event. I also have enough stamina for the stone armor. Conveniently, it reduces lightning damage even more than the silver set. I also had the ring you get from the merchant in Sen's fortress. I *might* have forgotten to equip that ring before the fight began. I hadn't thought about it until I was fighting Smough 1v1. Also I had to change weapons while trying to keep my distance. It was a cluster and a half. Eighteen flasks used, but I managed to defeat him. My hands were shaking for like three minutes afterwards.
HIDE BEHIND PILLAR TO AVOID ATTACKS.
Wow genius insight why didn’t I think of this before
More like: "How to win like a noob"
Are they immune to magic swords or weapons?
where do you get that weapon?
what are your rings
would a fire uchigatana be a good weapon for this fight?
Does dragon head stone work fam
is it a +1 fury sword?
I'm just trying to tank this fight with Havel's armor and a Black Knight Halberd. I don't have enough strength though and have to give up use of my shield. I can get one down at a time but their combinations are pretty tough.
