He certainly is, and also a historian as well as having an honorary doctorate of music from Queen Mary University of London. Truly a man of many talents👍
The reason why guitar sound in the main riffs in this version is different from the original one because there is additional guitarist in this version..... pre 2000 era they have 2 guitarest, post 2000 they have 3 guitarist in their lineup
@Meeshrick I agree..... Janick and Dave have the same style as one dimension sound... However, Adrian is totaly different style which create with Dave the iconic sound of maiden. I like Janick but he is a needless addition to the classic maiden songs.
@@abdallahalhadid really get annoyed when Janick does solos live that Adrian recorded in the studio. Like Hallowed be thy name, Revelations, and even this duel solo in the Trooper...Adrian is very precise and Janick rather than doing the same in a different octave he's just ad-libbing a sloppy mess
One of the best renditions of Eddie. There have been so many of him but this is one of my top 3 versions. It's unreal the energy these guys have after decades of touring! UP THE IRONS!
Bruce has mentioned before that the band tends to continually up the tempo as the tour goes on, it's just the band's excitement with playing live, much to his shigrin. He has told them to stop upping the tempo so he can keep up! It just goes to show what a tight, well-oiled machine they are!
I remember an old interview where Steve talks about choosing live recordings for Live after Death. The boys were very surprised when they realised that every song went a bit faster live!
Nice to see you with your hair down Sam. I just bought tickets to see Iron Maiden in San Diego in October! Finally get to cross them off my bucket list!
Damn How did you manage to just get tickets for San Diego show, ?? I got my tickets for Portland like 9 months ago, LOL They were selling out quick then.
You can’t go wrong with Maiden!! Love them!! Alexander the Great( studio/lyric ), Stranger in a Strange Land, Sea of Madness…….so many!!! Most of their live stuff is sped up somewhat. Thanks, guys!!! 🤘🤘🎸🎸❤️
If you like Maiden's sound you should give UFO a listen. Steve Harris (Maiden's Bass Player) was a massive fan of Pete Way of UFO, it's where Maiden get their 'Galloping Bass' sound - & Steve gets his fashion sense - striped spandex - from. I recommend the track 'Rock Bottom' as an opener - & the Guitarist is one Michael Schenker, little Brother of Rudolph Schenker of the Scorpions who at the time of recording Rock Bottom was younger than some of your underwear & already a Guitar genius. Pete Way, sadly gone & much missed these past four years. Saw him live with UFO, Fastway & Waysted - always too drunk to stand, always in a spandex leotard with the crotch somewhere around his knees & always, always, always a Monster Bass-playing Machine. He's telling War stories in Valhalla as I type. Love your stuff, keep up the good work. Love & Kisses from the UK.
Iron Maiden The Kings Of Metal, Eddie Is The Bands Mascot and Is On All 17 Studio Album Covers, Maiden Are Huge In South America, Check Out The Talisman From Iron Maiden - En Vivo 👍👏.
Iron Maiden....Rocks you to the core, and teaches you a history lesson as well. Eddie is the Skeleton.....look at their albums covers in order to see his evolution. Eddie Rocks.......Up The Irons
The great thing about this band is they were actually intelligent. Most their songs are history based, not all but most. They were one of the best of their time. Trooper is a great song to start with too.
Iron Maiden's mascot Eddie the Head has evolved over the band's career, first appearing in 1980 as a papier-mâché mask created by Dave "Lights" Beazley, the band's lighting and pyro man. The mask was used as part of the band's stage backdrop and was connected to a fish pond pump that would spill fake blood during shows. The band later transferred the name "Eddie" to an illustration by Derek Riggs that was used on the cover of their debut album. Eddie has since appeared in many different forms, including a cyborg, an Egyptian mummy, a lobotomized mental patient, and a samurai warrior, to reflect the themes of the band's albums and tours. Eddie has been featured on most of the band's albums, singles, and live albums, and is a permanent fixture at their concerts
The original music video version is well worth a watch, it puts the song into context really well....saw them in 1989 or 1990 I think..in Belfast . A 10 -12 ft tall Eddy came on stage (a guy in costume and stilts) and rocked out with the band ...it was my first concert and I was hooked, I'm now 50 !
4:30 "I Don't Know If That's Eddie, Per Se" In answer to that question, Phil, that is indeed Eddie, as is every other incarnation that you and Sam had seen. Eddie's been the mascot of the band even before Bruce Dickinson joined the band. And appeared on all the album cover art in some way
Can you believe these bad asses are not in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame? WTF?? No radio play but sold out arenas/stadiums globally. Merch everywhere. RnR HOF has fan votes every year, VOTE!!
Iron Maiden's mascot is the skeletal ghoul 'Eddie the head'... It was introduced in 1980 on Iron Maiden's first album created by artist Derek Riggs after Maiden's manager Rod Smallwood wanted a 'sixth personality' to represent Iron Maiden visually because none of the 5 members of Iron Maiden in 1980 were striking personalities (They were all fairly shy and quiet guys, including vocalist Paul Di'Anno) Derek Riggs drew the first Iron Maiden cover of a skeletal ghoul w/ hollow eyes and punk rock hair, standing in the dark London streets... and that was what Smallwood liked and commissioned Riggs to draw 'Eddie' in various incarnations from 1980 to 1991... Riggs said the painting of 'Eddie' was inspired by the photo of a decapitated soldier's head on display on a tank during the Vietnam war. After Riggs quit working for Iron Maiden, artist Melvyn Grant took over drawing 'Eddie' in 1992. The name 'Eddie' came when Rod Smallwood met Iron Maiden in 1979 during their club days, he noticed that the band had a silver mask next to the band's logo onstage which would spew out smoke during their set or drip fake blood during the song 'Iron Maiden'... Smallwood asked bassist Steve Harris what the mask was and Harris told him, "Oh, we call it the head" (In his thick British accent, it sounded like "The 'Ed"... hence, the name 'Eddie the head') When Iron Maiden began touring in 1980 on their first album, Eddie replaced the silver mask onstage and Smallwood had 'Eddie' masks made so that a roadie could assume the character onstage... In 1982, Iron Maiden hired a stage prop company that created tall figures onstage w/ actors on stilts... They created this monolithic 'Eddie' to wander onstage during Iron Maiden concerts and would tower over the band members for a few minutes before leaving.
I’ve always preferred the studio version of this song precisely because the tempo of live version is too fast for Bruce to keep up and it does have a negative impact on the vocals. So pleased that someone else finally agrees! 😄🤘
Tempo is a little faster live, it’s one of the reasons people love the live songs - obviously the whole show too, so much energy. They are touring this year too and still draw a big crowd young and old.
Eddie's been there since the beginning. They have an animated version that's about 10ft tall that comes out on stage and combats the band. Better live than reordered. South America lives their metal. 100,000 people often. Bruce is also an Olympic level fencer I believe.
Maiden! They just plain crank, do their self titled song, Iron Maiden! Great song, also when you can, see contemporary band Liliac, a family of sibling, musical savants, they do a kick buff cover of the Trooper that is a must see, it is from around 5 years ago and they are just kids and teens and it is one of the best covers you will ever see. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶🔥
Newer Iron Maiden songs I suggest: 'The reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg' ... 'Paschendale' ... 'The red and the black'... 'Stratego' ... 'For the greater good of God'... 🔥🔥🤘🤘
More Maiden please
iron maiden parchment.. One of the best of the 21st century
Only Bruce would be belting out at that level while waving a massive flag 🇬🇧
Bruce is a pilot, fencer, author and singer
I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I have been fan since 1982, have seen them 17 times and the 18th time will be in October in Montreal, Canada.
I'm 52 Chilean metalhead as a Lot of Friends ..
Eddie is the mascot and he’s on every single one of their albums. Yes, that’s Eddie in the background. Eddie the dying corpse is complete fire.! 🔥
I have about 12 iron maiden posters with Eddie. Many of them being pretty obscure , like phantom of the opera or charlotte , the harlot

The Best Band💪🎸🥁👍Thanks You Two !!
Eddie!! Yes I'm here for Maiden. Run to the hills is a banger too. Great reaction as usual my friends and Peace out 🙏 ✌️ ☮️
I'm amazed by Bruce vocal performance! Most singers aging can't sing like he does in this video
One of the best renditions of Eddie. There have been so many of him but this is one of my top 3 versions. It's unreal the energy these guys have after decades of touring! UP THE IRONS!

The background behind the stage was my favorite Iron Maiden poster that I had in my room!
The Trooper is based on the Charge Of The Light Brigade in the Crimean War you always get a history lesson from Maiden UP THE IRONS
Besides poems. Samuel Taylor Coleridge would be proud of them on Rime of the Ancient Mariner. For me, their best song.
You are Most likely to get a history lesson when you listen to iron maiden

Iron Maiden forever!🤘❤🤟
Run to the Hills is a must
Iron Maiden was the first concert I went after the covid lockdown in 2022.. awesome open air concert in the summer evening. Perfect.

Great band but the bass "galloping" was lifted from Led Zeppelin's 1976 masterpiece "Achilles Last Stand" Something for you guys to check out
I think it's more likely the galloping effect was borrowed from Deep Purple's 'Hard Lovin' Man' since Steve Harris is a big fan of Purple.
Could’ve sworn they wanted to do studio cuts first? What changed because I agreed with their reasoning.
