I’ve never been a fan of the SKX but I really like this one, hackable movement a plus, I’d swap out the crystal for sapphire. Thanks again for another look at this beauty.
I can spend less and get a display of the 4r36 with my bottle cap and my baby monster, but that caseback with the tsunami is what I’ve wanted for a long time. The SKX011 was a grail for me, and yesterday I finally received one! It’s soooo much better in person than I thought it would be and I had some pretty high expectations. I’m still riding pretty high. But for the prices of the new SKX line, the choice is easy. Get the old line till Seiko drops the prices on the new. Even if the price goes up, get the old line. Great review Aron👍🏼
Love all the models, lots of different looks to choose from! But if you are little handy, I would prefer to modd the old SKX, lots of parts from dlw watches! At least when the price is so high on these 5KX, perhaps when they drop in price I`ll choose a 5KX.... The 7s26 movement is old but the non hacking part doesn’t bother me! I bought one of the blue seiko 5s for the good lady and she absolutely loves it. But do you think they could finally get the bezel alignment correct? Nope. So disappointing to give one as a gift and to have bezel misalignment. But still a beautiful watch

Noticed the prices on Amazon UK starting to come down to just over £200 from the original £250...that makes it a far more interesting proposition for me. Torn between asking for this or the Phoibus wavemaster for Xmas.

Not useless at all. Hacking, handwinding, enough water resistance to swim and snorkel. Fix the bezel alignment and it’s a perfect watch at around $200.

Price does not Justify the minuses, not about 100m, but the case back, no pip, crow is plain. I still go with the orient triton and phoibos.

Does it have the same brightness as the 011? I have heard that this blue version lume is weaker than the green version.
