There is NO best Sabaton song. It all depends on where you're from, what event or person that you connect with, and the mood you are in at that moment.
Smoking Snakes were released o Heroes, not Carolus Rex. There wasn't only one new song released jn 2023, there where 1 new song for each EP released in 2023: "Father, the first solider & 1916"
The 2012 album, Carolus Rex, was recorded by the original line-up, Rikard Sundén, Oskar Montelius, Daniel Myh, Daniel Mullback, Joakim Brodén and Pär Sundström. The band broke up after the album was released in the spring of 2012. They then recruited Chris Rörland, the former guitarist of Nocturnal Rites, Thobbe Englund, the former bassist of Raubtier, and Robban Bäck the drummer of Eclipse. Robban left the band after 90-ish shows in late 2012 and was replaced by Snowy Shaw, a former member of Dream Evil. He was later replaced by his drum tech, Hannes Van Dahl, who has been the drummer ever since. Thobbe left the band just after the release of The Last Stand, in 2016. He contributed quite a lot to the song writing, especially on Heroes and The Last Stand, and even on The Great War, co-writing Fields of Verdun. He was replaced by Tommy Johansson who was in the band for almost 8 years, co-writing a few songs on The War to End All Wars and a single. The other guitarist, Chris Rörland, has also contributed a lot to writing parts of the music on several songs since The Last Stand. Hannes Van Dahl has also contributed some to the song writing, mainly Man of War, on the Heroes album. Tommy Johansson left the band in 2024 but we were instead blessed with the return of the Fender Stratocaster legend himself, Thobbe Englund. And here we are.
There is a bonus track worth of mentioning, it was not suppose to be a hit, but is played now on every live show because fans love it, even though Joakim hates/hated it. That is best song of Sabaton, so catchy that my kids sing it everytime when there is change of echo (tunnels etc.). It is called Swedish pagans. About Tank's, Sabaton has 2 stage prop ones, and other is named Audie and second Walter, named after gentlemen's from Heroes album. Sabaton's music videos are worth mentioning, they are awesome. But they'r live set is even more impressive. And to add for a list of other things they doing like history channel, there is a video game coming from Pär soon, and they have magazine that comes with merch.

Great one. But as a swede I still must say that theiir best song and the way most of us love Sabaton is: En livstid i krig (A lifetime of war)

Learned some cool stuff I didn't know about them. Sabaton is an amazing band and what got me into metal. We love Tank Metal!!
