There are many comments from overseas. I am glad to know that there are people outside of Japan who are listening to it. I have been listening to it since I was a teenager. I am almost 50 years old now, but I still listen to it from time to time. By the way, the composer is Hiro who plays the keyboard. He is now at the age where he will retire from Sega in a few years(^^;).
@@liamconnolly234 The original SST Band disbanded in 1993, but there have been successors, notably "Sega Sound Unit [H.]" featuring keyboardist Hiroshi "Hiro" Kawaguchi, bassist Takenobu Mitsuyoshi or guitarist Koichi "Mickey" Namiki among others, all of these are great if not legendary composers in their own right btw. While [H.] seems to have disbanded too (in 2015), there is also "Blind Spot" led by the aforementioned Namiki which is still active and performing. This band doesn't have Hiro or Mitsuyoshi but still a lot of former S.S.T. Band members like Kimitaka Matsumae, Masato Saito or Jouji Iijima.
I fell in love with AFTER BURNER as a kid when I was 4 yrs old. I was waiting for my mom and saw the stand up arcade, saw the attract mode and had to play. FINAL TAKE OFF will always be my favorite song in the soundtrack. Now that I am almost 40, I still come back and listen to this live rendition, play the games, and look for an arcade machine (sit-in preferably) and relive those memories. I was a TOP GUN fan as a kid and wanted to fly a Tomcat. Never made it but I will always have the gem of a game and amazing soundtrack. It's in my workout playlist to this day. GET READY!
Man, God save the Internet. Years ago I never thought there was a band that played music from sega games. Thanks to the internet I learned about Sega SST. Have the music now, but never thought someday I would actually see then in video. And here it is! Thanks so much!
SST= OutRun, and Afterburner's Best background Music band. Always an forever to be the Ultimate for Sega's soundtrack.. Always Played this groups music tracks to any kind of combat game, tryed it once with X-wing... Oooh it was very in tune with stuff. hehe A +
I have these performances from the dvd and they are amazing. . . These guys were (are) really talented. Especially that keyboardist and Koichi on the guitar!
Gracias... Pense que era el unico que disfrutaba esta musica de video juegos en la fecha, y eso que fue publicado el 2007 esperaba algo asi desde mucho tiempo..
Japan..........the most interesting place in that whole ricepicking area. Too bad they're the only ones that got nuked twice back in the day, it should happen to all the other shitholes in that region except Japan. Japan really brought great consumer electronics and videogames.
The soundtrack still sounds so epic after all these years long live their music!🎸🎸
