Addie is starting 1st grade, Landen going into 4th, the twins into 6th and Tommy starts middle school (7th grade)! 🥺 Lilia doesn't start 8th grade until tomorrow so today we are getting her hair cut and having a special last day of summer break! My name is Jess! I had a daughter (Lilia) at age 18 w/ my high school sweetheart. We mutually split up & co-parent to this day. I met someone new, got married at age 19, had twin boys (Kyson & Kaden) and another son (Landen). He cheated, we split ways, & he’s not around much. After juggling life as a single mom of 4 for some time, I met Chris, he had 2 sons: Caden and Tommy, who eventually became my step sons. After Chris and I got married, we had our 7th child together, Addelyn. I feel like a ridiculous complete hormonal mess, lol. I teared up while Landon was explaining his whole carburetor bit. A combination of pride, of his knowledge at a young age, and happiness he has active loving adults in his life that take the time to teach him, and care about things that are important to him. Not at all of us had that growing up, or at least I didn't. Go Poppy! making lifelong lessons.
I think Landon found his calling ❤
He’s always going to have a special memory of his papi teaching him all this mechanical stuff

What a mechanic he is going to be. Hopefully he takes it up in high school.
Stuff like this is why I wish so many schools hadn’t gotten rid of auto shop. I took it when I was in high school. It was required for all students, boys and girls. So was home ec. I was getting home ec at home so I begged my counselor to let me take shop twice. He was surprised that a girl actually wanted to get her hands dirty and greasy.
I took mechanic shop for two years. Have two diplomas.
Or he might grow out if it lol

WAY TO GO LANDON!!! The fact that he was willing to learn how to do it and actually do it is one thing but to remember all that !! I am impressed !!
Get a dry erase board calendar for your kitchen or living room. You can color code it for each kid and put the schedule for the month on it. And maybe even out an initial for each day for who's doing drop offs and pick ups etc. That way it's in front of you and it'll help everyone know where they're all supposed to be each day. Glad everyone had a good first day!😊
What a great idea it sound like it would help and the kids could also see what needs to be done and who is gonna pickup and drop off

Better yet, make magnets with each child & adult's name or photo and move them around the weekly chart as needed. Make multiples of each to make it easier lol. Drag & drop 😂
Oh my god!! I am so freaking impressed with Landon’s knowledge of his quad!! It’s fascinating seeing the kids turn into their own little people, it’s just crazy to me
I loved hearing Landon telling you all about the problems with his quad and how knowledgable he was and who taught him. This is something that my Dad and older brothers did with all of us. We had to have basic knowledge about the car, how it works and how to trouble shoot when there were problems. It started with the push lawn mower which we had to clean and care for each time we used it to cut the grass. Then we had to learn about the cars,checking oil and other fluid levels, filters, how and what the carburetor worked and what it did and how to adjust it. Next was the battery and spark plugs and the various belts. I helped my brother clean and rebuild the engine for his car using parts from another engine he got from a auto junk yard. We weren't allowed to get our drivers license until we knew how to do general maintenance and repairs so that we wouldn't get stranded due to car problems. Newer cars are more difficult because of all of the computer technology and sensors. Unless you have the equipment to hook it up to a computer and scan it before you can do anything and the general setup of the engine makes it harder to access what needs to be fixed.
Oh my goodness! Wow. I am super impressed and shocked with Landen! The way he explained how quads work and electric cars function and handle and “gas power”. It is really nice that he was willing to learn from his Papi and putting it into practice. Great job! He’s only nine years old and knows more than me on that stuff and I’m 19. Jess, I have to give him credit on that. 😊
I absolutely loveeee that he has such a special relationship with Poppy. It’s absolutely adorable and makes me adore and cherish the relationship I have with my grandfather and all he’s taught me 🫶🏻

Today was the first day for my kids! My son was like whatever no hug he’s a 3rd grader but my baby my daughter is a kindergartener today and she cried 😭😭 my son his first day in school he was so chill about it.
