You put in all the cheeses I like .. especially the smoked Gouda..I use ground mustard instead of nutmeg but will definitely try nutmeg..bc you look like you what your doing. You didn't over drench it with sauce..very good guy
A question please. I want to make mac and cheese the day before and refrigerated. Would this type of recipe, which sounds so good, be okay to do ahead of time?
Hi. Yes, you can make this ahead of time and refrigerate. Allow your mixture to cool down completely before placing in the fridge. Also, add an additional 15 minutes to the cooking time since it's starting off cold. I hope you enjoy. Please let me know how it turns out for you!
If you prepare the Mac & Cheese the night before & put in the fridge, won't the noodles absorb all of the liquids? When I get ready to cook it the next day, should I add more milk? Just tryin to get it right
I do recommend you covering the dish tightly with foil or an air tight lid before refrigerating. Noodles adsorbing some of the liquids is a good thing! My recipe measurements create enough liquid to sustain being refrigerated beforehand, so you shouldn’t need to add more milk prior to baking. Thanks for the question.
