Often times, countries will contribute troops to another country's war to not only provide direct assistance but to also give their troops practical experience so they can bring that experience back to their own country to train them. With mortality rate like this for the North Koreans, there's absolutely no hope for that.
I've read from some experts on North Korea, that there is no chance that NK will take the Soldiers back anyways. Because they have seen the outside, which is too risky for the sheltered life of North Koreans
I doubt that Kim wants them to come back. A huge part of NK propaganda is that the rest of the world is a cesspool compared to NK. Having such a large number of peasants come back from the "outside" would inevitably lead to the exposure of that belief as a lie. Even if the NK soldiers were treated poorly, they still would bring back ideas threatening to the regime, such as how they were handily defeated.

Kim Jong Un needs to pay a high price for sending his soldier to fight in a war which has nothing to do with him. Even more worrying is the idea that Russia will assist with his nuclear ambitions. It seems we're fast descending into the arena of a global conflict - something I hoped I would never see in my lifetime
Unfortunately it has everything to do with him. KJU needs resources. His entire country has been on the brink of economic collapse for over 30 years. Putler can supply him with resources, but since NK doesn't have anything useful to use as payment, KJU uses the only currency he has: Human lives.

I really can't grasp the fact that the North Korean army just doesn't seem to give a crap about their fallen brothers. I don't care what military force you are with if your brother gets injured you try and help them and don't just leave them for dead.

It's an unfortunate result of generations of brainwashing and isolationism. Those feelings of camaraderie and brotherhood are deeply suppressed. Now, theyre just fodder for the Russians in what I assume is a tactical "sacrifice" to further deplete Ukrainian ammo & resources. Whatever the case, it's still unfortunate to see happen. They're still human beings after all.
I bet the Russians only threw the Norks into the open battlefield just to prod and test out Ukraine's defense positions. That way, they'll know whether or not it's worth sending out their forces to capture a position.

At least in the old days, they sent in the calvary... and then the spearmen followed... and they had shields... the peasant infantry with sticks and clubs came last.
Russia did not invade Ukraine because they thought Ukraine was a threat. They invaded because that area of the world is a good choke point preventing Russia from getting steamrolled by Europe in any future wars. This is the entire reason russia has been pissed about the expansion of nato for decades. Anyone paying attention knew this would happen eventually. Nato had been basically taunting and begging them to do so for about 20 years. Well, they finally did something about it.
@Maibuwolf Comments like yours just amplify putin's propaganda. Post Soviet countries have been jumping through hoops to join NATO because *they* always knew that russia remained a threat. NATO would have never invaded russia - still hasn't - because rich western countries were only too happy to do business with them.
Well they said they wanted to gain experience in modern warfare tactics, this is what you get while you isolated behind your walls for 70 years and made threats to the world, we've been preparing to deal with you.
The NK tactics are not surprising if you look at history. This is what they have always done rather like the Japanese of WW2. Mass frontal infantry attack with total disregard for their own life was a hallmark of both the Pacific and Korean wars. They were the reason why the claymore mine was developed. I assume that the Ukrainian troops are using this type of mine for the same purpose.
I feel like this is more delusional training and being stuck in NK in a bubble where you are lied to all your life that your country is the most powerful country in the world. I think a good comparison would be those fake martial arts “masters” who have lived in delusion and have their students fake how powerful the master is by throwing themselves on the ground when the master “attacks”. The moment they have to show their skills against a real master who isnt playing into the delusions they get absolutely destroyed because they cant actually fight at all. This really looks like what these “soldiers” were trained like. Its basically just sending these men to death because they are so ignorant to reality of what war is due to what they have been presented their entire lives. They go out there thinking “we are the most powerful country, our leader is the greatest, theres no way we can lose”

I think the rate of nullification of the N. Koreans in Ukraine is lower than in Korea. Apparently dozen of soldiers are dying daily in "accidents" or starvation back home.
The North Koreans failed in the Korean War. Because of surprise and unpreparedness on the US and South Korean side they were initially successful. In a matter of months, however, the combined US and South Korean force had mostly overrun North Korea reaching the Yalu River. I took 1.5M Chinese soldiers to push the South Koreans and their allies back to the borders that had existed at the beginning of the war. That took them another 2.5 years or so, with very high casualties. The thing to note is that the North Koreans in the Korean War actually had combat experience fighting the Japanese and in the Chinese Civil War. Today's North Korean soldiers have none of that.
@@Danny_Cruz Im sure people said similar things when they introduced machine guns and chemical warfare during WW1. But hey, we still got nukes if you would prefer those?

One of the worst (human) monsters on the planet - AsJonathan Swift might have said : "Putin is one of the most pernicious little odious species of Vermin that Nature ever suffered to crawl upon the Surface of the Earth".
Russia has never cared about how many soldiers die if they can take the objective. The Chinese and North Koreans have the same attitude. The Germans in WW2 could not believe how the Russians would force their soldiers across open fields into the German guns. In Korea, human wave attacks by the Asian forces shocked the UN forces. They were using the tactics used during the First World War, over the top and into the machine guns.

You are heavily underestimating the Russian army. If it were as bad as you describe, Ukraine would now hold Moskow. They learn. Slowly, but they learn. Which has nothing to do with their tactic of meat waves. Those work after all. And you lose less of the important armored stuff.
@steemlenn8797 I dunno, they needed NK soldiers to to help so they must not be doing to well. Pretty sure Ukraine could make it to Moscow if the western countries didn't restrict how they used the weapons nor the range at which they are allowed to fire on Russian soil.

I’m 76 now but I remember as a child watching old American Civil War movies here in the US, when the British soldiers would be all lined up like in parade formation on the battlefield, like bull’s-eye targets, and didn’t fire their weapons until on command of the officers. They didn’t even try to hide or move but just took the shots that were fired at them by the American army. History is fascinating. From dragging around heavy cannons and cannon balls to lightweight drones in the sky.
Seeing your fellow soldier go down with injury and not running to help is so telling, on so many levels, about the battle field ability of the NK dedication.
@@nic.h5B not for free actually that Putler has paid lil Kim. That's not the whole deal either. When you are trapped like a rat in a trap of your own making nothing is free, even from your "friends".
NK has their own affairs to attend to. I'd be willing to bet that Kim is somewhat concerned that 10k of his soldiers are dying with no meaningful impact against the forces of a relatively minor nation who aren't even defending their own land (Kursk). If he continues to throw soldiers to Putin, and they continue to be slaughtered, not only will he begin to drain his own manpower, but he'll be showing the world more and more that he has no functional military. Even if they had no reason to do so, Kim would believe that this would embolden the US and SK to more aggressive military stances.

Well the way things are going for Russia they won't have anything to give to nk at this rate

The only reason can think of is that they're terrified of what happens to them if they stop to help their fellow soldiers
