- To celebrate 1300 subscribers (thank you all so much for your incredible support that I feel unworthy of) I figured I would put together a thorough guide with explanation of how to best deal with each enemy and boss in Zombies Ate My Neighbors! I hope you find this helpful and enjoy!

Awesome thank so much for this. One tip for megadrive version is that to switch weapons or items you have to hold the A button and then use the B or C button to cycle through them.
Yeah, I think it's less user friendly for the Sega version, but I've played it as well. I appreciate that you enjoyed this :)
Not sure how many people are aware of this, but you can actually destroy the cainsaw maniacs very quickly with the gorilla potion simply by positioning yourself inside of them and punching. You can tell if you are doing it correctly as they wont blink or flash at all and they should die in a couple of hits without falling on their backs.

+yoshipwns001 Good question! That level is not in the original ZAMN. It is the bonus level for level 39 in the Oh No! More ZAMN hack entitled "Problem Child." I also include my game footage from the Ultimate Hack, the Beta, original, and even my own hack.

Is it true the password system is useless due to the loss of weapons?
The password system is OK the first 2 or 3 times. After that, you will have difficulty towards the end. Especially if you go straight to the last 4 levels.
Yes, essentially. The passwords don’t store your weapons or items.
@@gamewithgreg I'd go for the password GLZJ for starting on Level 29 as the max. That massive house level gives you 2 medical kits, 1 red monster Potion, 2 boxes of inflatable cl8wns, 1 weed whacker, 1 holy cross and 1 bazooka to collect plus the random luck of hidden cupboards to collect additional goodies and 4 dollar bill stacks for points

+Joseph K. Yeah I have too before. It depends on if you can get him oriented so that he is moving at the top horizontally and you throw the plate horizontally into him. Many times, a single plate will go through a whole phase if you can get the perfect hit.

+Joseph K. It sure is! I took clips from my Beta playthrough, my hack playthrough, and our co-op of the Ultimate hack. There were also a couple of my other older videos I included in there.

@@Skyhurricane89 I knew there were aspects about this video that I didn't recognize. Question. Is the flamethrower from the original game? I don't recall ever finding that weapon.
@@tomahilaire3921 Yeah, it is in the original SNES version, behind the skeleton key door with the bonus in level 22. It is not in the Genesis version though.
Theres no such thing as banana weapon in the original version.
You're right, it was in the Beta but taken out for the original.
Hey? I Played that game when I was 11, now Am 33. Is possible to take.down the ufo?
@@kdin1019 Yeah, it's super easy to take it down. Just use clown and then throw sodas at it. I show how to defeat it in many of my ZAMN videos.

3:27: There is another way to kill the Jelly Blobs that you didn't mention. Freeze them, and then you can weed-whack them to get rid of them. ;) Oh. And you can also get them stuck in trap walls.
+Joseph K. Oh yes I know about that method, but it was going by so quickly that i didn't have time to mention it before it went on to the next enemy, lol! I had put the montage together and then commented over it afterwards.
@J 17 You can also use the fire extinguisher to take them out without using anything else. Just keep freezing it.
At first I thought you were British, but about 1 minute in and I realize you are southern/country.
This is easily my favorite game from the SNES and Sega Genesis era. A friend and I reached the 40 something level where you fight the giant spider, and the game glitched out and we couldn't progress any further. Basically robbed of beating the game, the one and only time we made it that far. It's level 46 or 48 or something like that.
Yeah, the first giant spider boss is on level 36, and I've had that happen to me too, it's a bad glitch that can really screw you over as you know. Hopefully you can come back to the game now and knock it out with some time and practice :)
It's good timing, my new boyfriend was just asking me about this game recently because he was thinking we should try it together. I gave him warning how hard it is and that he may want to practice first just to get comfortable. This will be very helpful in giving him a rundown of what to expect and how to deal with situations, I think.

blobs only being killed by frozen makes sense, thats how they killed it in the movie haha
Yeah, they implemented a lot of references from movies into the game :P Such as silverware killing werewolves in one shot

This would've been considered one of the greatest games of all time if it wasn't so hard.

lol no wonder I never got past level 2 or 3 as a kid hahaha. this game is crazy man. great sound track. Always get instant nostalgia when hearing that music.

Does anyone know where I can see a walkthrough where the players collect as many items as possible? I want to see a walkthrough with 56 Ames Kits.

thanks for this. I've been playing it since I was a kid recently rebought it for SNES after having it for genesis for along time but I got rid of that copy. Then last time I played it super casually but I got further than I ever have before so hopefully this will be the little boost i need to finally finish this mamma jamma

I absolutely loved this game since I think I was something it was made in the 1993 so I'm 32 right now my birthday coming up soon maybe in 5 more days and I'm going to be 33 and I think I was something around 20 or 10 I really don't know but I do know I was somewhere around 20 but not 10 idk why I put that down
You're about the same age as me and this is one of my childhood favorites :)
7:11 I was like raising 1 eye brow and I was like ehh and level 45 died 6 times every time but now since I practiced I beat the game and level 7 I'm usually scared cause sometimes there could be werewolves and the sound gets me
@@margaretsherrill9432 Yeah, it took me a long time before I beat it too! Pretty much played it non-stop from 6 to 8 years old when I finally beat it at 8. Didn't have any other games to play, haha
Also I have a game called roblox and during level 4 theme I sometimes play a game of zombie attack cause the theme sounds nice/and I usually play in first person mode and I usually do cmds and cmds are real cool I've been doing a lot of scary/blue guest trolls/alerts/btools/bans and kicks and u can get robux to get all those other cool stuff I'm 3m robux rich I love that game and zombie attack reminds me of level 48 and 4 and 7 XD

cross + pandora for the spider, its the sanctuary build, no damage on you, although it does need a lot of ammo
That is true! You'd think it would deal quicker damage to the giant spider as effective as the cross is on other enemies such as Frankenstein, werewolves, mummies, etc.

@@margaretsherrill9432 Is the martian bubble gun good on the giant spider? I don't think I had much luck with that when I tried it in the past. It is good on the little spiders though :P

Frankenstein was the one who made the monster he is the docter.
Dr Tongue who drinks the potions and vanishes is the leader.
And Dr tounges usually when ur in a huge room he could turn into a spider or big head and the big head reminds me of air heads XD

You actually sat down and counted the shots it took with the water pistol to kill enemies?
+Joseph K. No, I just know most of them from years of playing this as a kid. I forgot to mention some due to lack of time, such as the werewolves and purple ants which both take 10 shots. If you freeze most enemies that is reduced by half. For example, if frozen the werewolves would take 5 shots I believe.

Awesome! I have only completed this game with Game Genie. Maybe halfway through without when I was a kid. Recently dug up my old SNES, took it apart and cleaned it. This game is definitely on my todo list!
It's tough when you first play it, but I highly recommend it :)

@@oldmanreyko9644 Ah, I know what you're talking about now! You mean that some of the levels you do not recognize from the original. They are actually levels from Zombies Ate my Neighbors hacks. I've made 3 ZAMN hacks myself. You can go to Romhacking.net to find out more.

Doesn't seem you mentioned that the Vampires' bats are also fairly good at getting your Neighbors. And you didn't mention their affinity for killing pool guys. Lol
+Joseph K. Yeah, it seems like I've had them kill more pool guys than anything, lol! But honestly, the vampire is not likely to kill your neighbors unless you are careless and it's more likely that they'd do it by swirling into the victim. Hmm, is it too much of a surprise that I've had vampires kill neighbors more in my hack than in the canon or any of the other hacks? ;)

Skyhurricane Yeah man, I got to level 32 on my own. Here's hoping to getting to the end with your tips.
Oh yeah buddy, if you made it to 32, you should not have any problem beating this! I definitely recommend starting at the beginning and not using passwords though as you have limited ammo if you do. You got the boss on 36, but remember to use the weedwacker (or flamethrower if you have it) and you should be fine :)
Skyhurricane Yeah I heard that. What I have been doing was using the bcdf password to start the game with the day of the tentacle so I can have the bazooka to unlock it again in level 1. That way I have a decent amount of ammo and hopefully enough lives to make it to the end. Oh and thanks for talking about that flamethrower. I need to keep that in mind on level 22.
