    How to Deliver a WordPress Website to Client USING ELEMENTOR

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  4 роки тому

      Only 2 of the stages include Elementor, and as I noted at the beginning of the video, this is how 'I' deliver a site to a client. If Elementor isn't part of your process, there are still ways to create a more customised dashboard if you want to do that and the stage on restricting access to Elementor wouldn't be applicable.

    Hi Paul. I enjoyed the video and will begin incorporating some of these suggestions into future onboarding events. I do have a question. In prior videos you mentioned using White Label CMS. Do you still recommend that plugin or do you now recommend LgoinPress? Thanks.

    • @WPTuts

      White Label CMS is a great plugin, but I felt it was a little overkill for what I was aiming to achieve, but is still a very viable option for many use cases and one I would still consider using depending on what I was trying to achieve. :)

    Great content! But what if a tutorial turns out to be outdated in a couple of months? Which is the case quite frequently due to updates, free plugins going pro etc. Wouldn't that lead to a confused customer calling again and again? How can we avoid that?

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  4 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately, that's technology and none of us can predict with certainty that things won't change in 3, 6 or 12 months. If you're creating a website for a client and using any of the techniques mentioned in this tutorial then that is always a possibility. But, much the same as buying any form of technology, obsolescence is part of the whole thing and any client who thinks that what they pay for today won't change and evolve should be informed of these things as part of your onboarding process.
      Offer them maintenance plans that include updates and possibly new training as and when changes occur. It's a great way to make additional income .
      I'm sure that when a client buys a new car they are aware that there will be ongoing costs for updates, repairs, etc., and a website is no different. If they don't want to pay to be up to date, then they'll have to deal with any eventuality that may occur as things progress.
      you can't run a car forever without servicing and expect it to be the same as when you drove it out of the showroom. ;0)

    This video is gold! I just want to make the best decision on Main wp vs Manage WP, I just made my account with Manage WP but I have backup buddy as the current solution for backups until I switch to vivid. MainWP looks great but isn't that another WP installation you need worry about securing? One mistepp and someone has access to all client sites?

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  4 роки тому +1

      With MainWP if you're concerned about security, you can install and configure it to run on your local computer instead of online. This would allow you to manage exactly when the application runs and reduce your risk of any security breaches.
      If that isn't an option for you, then ManageWP would probably be a better option. You could still take advantage of WPVivid Backup to schedule regular updates directly inside the website it's installed on.

    Thanks for sharing. As I mentioned at another video there're tons of plugins out there you can use to change the ugly main wordpress login screen, BUT what I haven't seen so far is a solution when using the forget password function etc. without falling back to the ugly wordpress layout. I can't believe that none of the well known "big" plugin developer out there are taking care of that beside the main login widgets they provide. For me a workaround for that would be very important 😀What about you?

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  4 роки тому +1

      I agree, it seems to be one of those overlooked areas in the whole WordPress login/account process and doing a search online doesn't really yield much in the way of useful info.

    • @formgarten

      @@WPTuts Following your thoughts about a perfect elementor, in my opinion that's a missing big thing. I found an elementor plugin that does that job using ajax, but I haven't tested it so far. But I really would prefer a plain, non ajax based solution for that. As I said before: elementor itself should provide a template based solution. The plugin I found: theplusaddons.com/elementor/widgets/login-signup-password/

    Hi Paul, this video was awesome. I stumbled into it while researching about how to create websites for clients, which is something I'm just starting to do.
    However I do still have a question unanswered: My client gets his/her own hosting, and then adds ME as an administrator of their WP site? Or is it the other way around? I'm very confused about how to make sure I create a website for a client, but he/she remains the owner.

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  3 роки тому

      If the client has their own hosting, they only really need to supply you with access during the build or deployment stages. You'd have to decide with the client as to whether you want to manage the site or hosting moving forward and agree on fees moving forward.
      To be honest, there's no hard and fast rules. It's up to you to agree with the client what works best for all involved.

    • @WPTuts

      It all depends on the site that I'm working on. If it's a new site, then I'll develop it directly on the clients domain (with a maintenance page to avoid nosey people) and if it's to replace an existing site, then I'll usually develop on a separate spare domain I have then migrate the site over to the live server/domain once finished and approved.
