  • This raptor camera was stolen last week sometime. It was mounted about 8' high and powered by an external battery. It was locked with a python lock. Somebody had to walk about a 1/2 mile with lock cutters to cut this off and take it either home or to a pawn shop. If you see any raptor videos with this scenery and it does not have my signature under it, it is from that stolen camera. Help me find it, please.

So sorry to hear about your camera, Ulli. I know how it feels, I had 3 stolen from me sometime during Thanksgiving week. 2 off the same tree and one about 50 feet away. About 80% sure it was a hunter. Also had a 4th one in the area that had a cable on it, the card was taken from that one. Pulled all my cams out from everywhere, just started putting some back out a week or 2 ago.

Yikes. That hurts. So sorry!!!! I never leave any cameras on public land without locks and I try to put them in not so easy to see places. This one here was 8' high up and locked but still....Thank you for watching.

I wonder if someone was out there up to no good during the night, and was alerted by the white flash. Either way, people can be real doozies. Sorry for your pain, it was one of my favorite spot of yours.

Thanks, Philip. I am now thinking this was an inside job. Because you also needed a ladder to get up there. It had to have been a truck that had access to the area in winter. The only entities in there are the city and the oil companies. Nobody will carry a ladder 1/2 mile. So now we have even more suspicion. Thank you for watching.

Wow! This is a disgusting situation. One of my great disappointments was discovering that at some hiking trailhead parking lots there are signs warning to park at your own risk due to "smash and grab" crime in the area. That is apparently a thing now, organized crime to steal from people leaving their cars to enjoy a hike in nature. Indeed, this prompted me to actually buy a second vehicle to take to places like this. So, I'm not surprised at the theft of one of your trail cams. Our society is degenerating, as we lose respect for one another.

I hear you loud and clear. It takes two gates to be opened, each with a different security code plus a bout 1/2 mile walk (unless they biked). All was locked. You had to premeditate this to get the job done. You need some good cutters bc regular ones don't cut through those locks. Thank you for watching. The trail head stuff has been going on for years and years, unfortunately.

I'm so sad to hear that you've had this camera stolen. I had a camera stolen this past year, too. It's so disheartening!

@@zenphotojourney thank you. We all know that sinking feeling, don't we? In this case they had to bring tools and plan it out. I just remembered, you need a ladder to do this here too. A ladder and hefty wire clippers, and then you have to hike a ways. Thank you for watching.
