Not to mention Penelope’s challenge included stringing Odysseus’ old bow, and according to the poem none of the other suitors could even bend it. He’s essentially laughing in their faces because Penelope devised a challenge only he himself could win, and both of them knew it.

I actually think that entire verse are Easter eggs from all of his fights. “He’s aiming for the torches!” - Scylla (obviously) “Our weapons, they’re missing!” - Circe was able to unarm all the men with her spells, Odyssey went for the next best thing. “He’s using the darkness to hide his approaches!” - Polyphemus and the other Cyclopes’ weren’t seen at first because of how dark the cave was.

This man has now survived a war, polythemus, poseidon (where he loses 500+ men), circe, the underworld, sirens (he kinda killed them without their song affecting him), scylla (losing 6 men), zeus himself (losing the rest of his men), calypso trying to keep him on ogygia, poseidon again, the suitors stand absolutely no chance to a man that has been through hell for 20 years.
Yes 20 years can be caught up by a hard fight and several corpses pretty quickly it’s like free therapy, they can take out their frustrations on them and reconcile and appreciate eachothers abilities more

I spotted "a dude in the middle" who looked strange, right before the reveal and I almost lost my mind when I realized it was Odysseus. This was awesome! -edit I just realized I noticed him because he is center in the shot which (in my opinion) is absolutely prefect for the surprise reveal

Think of an NBA player who is the shortest in his team, and look how tall he is compared to other average people. That is odysseus. In the books, he is described as a short but witty hero (the average height for a hero is 6'0 while the average height of other people was 5'4) but when he encounters the suitors, he is described as "towering over them"

The look of confidence to fear when Odysseus says “you don’t think I know my own palace I built it” is them realizing who they are messing with and that they have made the final mistake of there lives because there not dealing with the Odysseus that left Ithaca all those years ago no there dealing with the man who lost 600 men to monsters on the way back to his kingdom the only thing keeping him going and alive was his determination to get back to his wife and son a wife and son these men planed to kill there dealing with the man who had to deal with Poseidon and Zeus and lived there dealing with a man with nothing left to lose

I just want to point how the realization of the 2 suitors that are sweating in fear because Odyssesus is saying he built the palace and the 2 suitors are like: "OH SHIT....... WE'RE SO FUCKED!!!!"

I'm not sure if it's the wall design but at the start there is a human figure which just happens to be where the arrow is shot from and that's such good detail
The look of confidence to fear when Odysseus says “you don’t think I know my own palace I built it” is them realizing who they are messing with and that they have made the final mistake of there lives because there not dealing with the Odysseus that left Ithaca all those years ago no there dealing with the man who lost 600 men to monsters on the way back to his kingdom the only thing keeping him going and alive was his determination to get back to his wife and son a wife and son these men planed to kill there dealing with the man who had to deal with Poseidon and Zeus and lived there dealing with a man with nothing left to lose

i know im late to this but i love how if you think about it his using scylas method which is to take out the torches (yes im aware she killed whoever held them but im pretty sure we can all agree if someone was holding the torches he would of killed them first)
