The 10 minute version is an absolute masterpiece, but I have to admit I also listen to the 5 minute version just as much. It makes me feel so nostalgic, like I’ve been transported back to 2012
No, but sometimes 5 minutes version hits hard it gives me goosebumps every part the way she sings it and the instruments is so nostalgic even though 10 minutes version is my all time favorite both are masterpiece💜💜💜

I recently started listening to Taylor Swift because I read somewhere that they were studying her lyrics at some college. I never gave her a chance but now after buying 6 of her albums she is one of the great lyricist of our time
The way the leaves fell like endless tears during "You call me up again just to break me like a promise" and all that's left was a shriveled, deciduous tree by the time she sang "I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here, cause I remember it all too well."
That my friend, is an incredible masterpiece from the ARTIST OF THE DECADE.

I loved the transition of the tree. It was green and lively first, then it gradually faded and became grey without any leaves. That represents this song so wonderfully

I love how this is one of the re-recordings that maintained the original mood the most. I mean, you can tell it’s still emotional after all these years, even though she’s healed. It’s not so much like she is visiting a memory but reliving an emotion. You can tell it’s already in the past for her, but that it has left its durable mark. It’s def one of my favorite re-recordings so far!

As a recent novice listener - I made the comment that I felt this was her best written song - just over Back to December. I appreciate the repeated narrative of the scarf and the change-up of the lyrics for the chorus - and then the rehashing of those lyrics in the final few lines - just masterfully done.
Musically - the steel pedal guitar and the thunderous piano on the bridge - just incredible. I would have loved to sit in the production booth of this song. Big kudos.

She's moved on and she's said so herself that her fans have changed her experience with her music so I think when she sings this she thinks of us and doesn't feel pain from the relationship she's moved on from

Time heels a lot of wounds and re experiencing the pain is often a different feeling since you've grown so much since that moment. Allow yourself to feel pain without it consuming you, be compassionate and loving towards yourself. It will heal.

I’m 51 years old with a Master’s Degree in Vocal Music and decided to listen to her music to see what all the craziness is all about. I get it. She is an AMAZING storyteller. The only reason I'm sad is that I couldn't enjoy the re-released albums and new album is that the person (my older sister) who introduced Taylor's music to me passed away of cancer just last year.
