Gratz on your first major piece of proto-tech, remember while some encounters have set pieces of proto-tech: the miming base will always have a drill, and another will always have an assembler and another will always have a thruster, most have random pieces. So your luck with the RNG will often determine what you get. Also, if you haven't done so already, you can set the game options so that you can have up to 2 proto-tech encounter spawns at the same time, more if you edit the game config file.

I put a keypad on the prototech parts to claim them, the small grid has been on mag plates so already a seperate grid, the large grid I grind all connected parts then claim it that way. Still need to hack with grinder but use a level 1 and is easier to not loose parts.

It's nice to see you do what i do all the time on official servers now. I wasn't as lucky taking out the perfect event controller to prevent warheads being armed tho, haha. Now instead of rushing i just park my ship with a safe zone and activate it, it prevent the explosions and being shot at. I made myself a small grid ship with grinders to be able to gather all the mats i can and it's also able to transport components i want to get out, tho now i mostly grind them for scraps when i don't need it because of limited 20k PCU on officials.
It's gonna make you very rich tho, there's a lot of parts for the factory, warship and transport ship. You gonna need an assembler tho for sure. Panels are a lot of ingots when disassembled.

Why does your build and repair grind pink things ?

I set the grind color to that pinkish color, you can use any color of your choose really, but that is generally my default grind color.
