Brilliant! Greetings from Scotland (the old country).
Doesn't he mean Baguette 🥖 ? You can never get enough of bread based songs 🤣
Starts with dancing and before you know, they're begatting all over the place.
Lmao 🤣
Oh, stop! 😂
LMAO!!!!
Loved it!!
Well, you know that's what they told me in our little old Baptist church many years ago so you must be right!
This is the nicest, purest thing I’ve seen in a long, long time
agreed
Loved watching this. While I understand some posters issues with the lack of following footwork exclusively. Part of the joy of this video is watching the faces of all the participants. It relays the joy gotten in that form of dance.
In America, we dance with our entire bodies.
I dance with this group and it’s called traditional clog dancing
Dancin is so joyful! Can’t be sad or mad when you’re dancin!
David danced before the Lord.
That looks like so much fun.
They're all having such fun!
The joyous traditions like a patchwork quilt across America in all its joy for life. God Bless America and all its people. Traditions are the best thing to hand down to the next generation. Do not lose that wonderful way of life, to something dark and hateful.
This has been stuck in my head for the last 3 days...
Make that 8 days.
@@Mediocre_JT, 😂
I learned about clog dancing in western North Carolina, in the Asheville region.
This was dope...just look at how happy everyone seems
This is absolutely wonderful! 🙏💖🌹🌻
Really enjoyed from beginning to end ♫
Praise the Almighty! Thanks & Blessings for administering the Gospel and advancing the teachings of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, through dance & music. Keeping those drug-addicted teenagers off the streets seems to have focused their energies in such a positive way. The Lord works in such mysterious ways. Amen.
Just sent this site to my Texas preacher nephew; hope he enjoys it as much as I did!
I wish I could move to Texas. Robert at 67.
This actually the clogged group I dance with
Glorious. Life enhancing. Thanks!!!
At 1:48 the guy on the right is my current clogging teacher
Mine too! I just started this year!
Wow just amazing thanks for sharing this beautiful video
What a lovely, upbeat way to start the day!
Fantastic ,can we please have some more of this.
After the messiah has arrived
YES
A gorgeous, wonderful Masterpiece! Bravo!!
I recognized those Little River Cloggers!!!! Yee Haw!!!
Wonderful. What better to start the day. Thank you for uploading and sharing this with the world.
Love this
Quite wonderful, wonder where this was done. It reminds me of North Carolina where the folk arts are strongly promoted.
I'd say that singer was English from England
Love it
This is the sort of video that reminds me how much I love this country.
Love the smiles!
Truly incredible!
I remember laughing at this part of the Bible so I'm trilled someone turned it into a song....
Wonderful!
A bit of fun, but not a patch on the dancers Hoffman filmed in the 1960s.
i am from Yorkshire where clog dancing is thought to have originated So i naturally love this, as it takes me back to my youth
Thank You. Blessings.
Hilarious and joyful at the same time. Wonderful to see young folk enjoying folk dancing. Do they know what's involved in begetting yet? When I go to a contradance, it's mostly older folks, like me.
Lay down boys, take a little nap.
15 miles to The Cumberland Gap
I have Palestinen American family up there in the mountains.
It is begat mesmerising
This is great😊
Awesome
Appalachia seems like a really interesting place,
Amei, achei muito lindo ❤
Awesome! Subscribed.
Excellent! However why did not they wear XIXth Centurian cloth?
There's various forms of Clogging, I like to see traditional Flat footing (Buck boarding) where there's very little upper body movement, and with fiddle and Banjo. Not crazy about the mandolin. Robert at 67.
👏👏👏❤️👍pure joy .🇺🇲🇩🇪
Очень мило и душевно!❤😊
These cloggers stomp up a storm!
Sting on the bass?
Where are their clogs?
Great dancing
Is this " Double Entendre ' " Folk Music ?!?!?!
So I'm watching this video with the theme song from the movie space jam lol just a random perfect timing thing.. the video randomly popped as i was scrolling through UA-cam.. then spacejam started playing on my phone because i was playing my music lol it looks good.. try it 😁 But i still enjoyed the actual video! 🙂👍
Dance with a pretty girl, sparks will fly, then you can begat!
Is that Hillbilly Sting on bass?
Their "Scots-Irish" is showing.
WUAAA 😮...do my eyes deceive me or what? is that a Brotha and a Sista clogging ? 🤔🤷
Young men wearing pants that aren't hanging down below their underwear and young ladies in dresses. A wonderful sight rarely seen these days.
Everyone Begatt now!!!!!
😂
As long as I don't stumble upon these people if I get lost in the wilderness
I love Baguettes & Baby Cheeses.
There's an awful lot of begatting going on!
The liked to begat back then just as much as we do today!
No women involved.
Shocking lot of beating going on. Careful now.
Down with that sort of thing.
Appalachian "bluegrass" folk music:similar to Texan country music
Whoo
Can anybody tell me the lyrics please , and a few facts about the culture.
He is using Chapter 1 of the Biblical Gospel of Matthew. This explains the bloodline of Jesus Christ.
The ‘begat’ that everyone is referring to is the Biblical way saying he ‘fathered’.
The dancing and style of music essentially came from Ulster (the northern province of Ireland) and Lowland Scotland. They were mostly religious Protestants hence why they are singing Bible verses whilst dancing.
Here is a link to Wikipedia. It’s not a bad summary and it can lead you to other more in depth studies
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scotch-Irish_Americans
I’m not an expert by any means but I am an Ulster-Scot who lives abroad and enjoys researching my history.
Other folk may give you better information!!
I hope this helps you,
Ian
@@bugler75 Thank you very much for your help .
It puts a lot into place about the Origen of. American folk music.
@@martinmessiah7130 the link between the US and the Ulster-Scots is quite incredible !
Glad it was of some help to you Martin😊
Ian
@@bugler75 I have just realised that my son is married to a Scottish girl called McGrath her farther is from Glasgow,
He has just done his family history and found that his ancestors came from Ireland. I have read your link and this all fits into place.
Changing the subject back to music ,if you watch the film titanic when they are dancing in the lower part of the ship supposedly to Irish music it actually sounds like a Scottish fiddle set.
I realise that there are subtle differences between folk tunes depending on which culture is playing them.
Thanks again.
@@martinmessiah7130 there is indeed and well spotted on Titanic, which was built in Belfast !
The history of Scotland and Ireland is very interesting . Perhaps you’ll get here to experience it all sometime!
As we say in Belfast, All the best till ye!
Ian
With all due respect, Mr Hoffman's 1965 film is far more authentic clogging. Captivating in fact. Search "This Mountain Clog Dance" on youtube. The youth are amazing as the floorboards resound with their astonishing rhythm to compliment old folks' music. Wow!
Ano, This Mountain Clog Dance jsem viděl nejmíň 10x. Úžasné! Wow!
I may be ignorant, but those don't look like clogs that they are wearing.....am I missing something?
Clogging as in the dance, not the shoe.
America the beautiful.
What did I just watch 🤣
This seems like something out of the old Twilight Zone. Very strange.
He looked like Sting
Their beloved will be turning up soon in one of his many Rolls Royces to begat with a couple of those young fillies.
❤now I feel like I want to begat 😊
Whole lot of Beggating going on..?
Probably no TV then.
Texas two-step
For your information I missed my wife's anniversary cuz the boss man sent me around looking for a spindle wrench just at quitting time
Q: Why are Nazarines against sex?
A: It leads to dancing.
This one begat, that one begat low and behold someone says some sh…..

THE OTHER DIRECTIVE IS THE OTHER SHOE AND ARE WITTIKER TWYES 6 MINETS BORN APART
So odd watching the music and dance from the heart of America, and then having an Aussie singing in his distinctive accent.
He sounds more English than Aussie!??
@@C777plus0 You're obviously not Australian - or maybe not Australian enough.
Man those guys really begat
no way
OTHER DIRECTIVE WYERTT WITTIKER
Oh so these are modern people filmed in black and whte
Oh so, yes!
I wonder how many know what 'begat' means? Ha Ha.
The haters here have n'er begat.
The salvation of my country will come from our of the South. This music says so.
I love the clogging but the song I could do w/o ! Clogging is awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍
Agreed.
Agree! That’s the clogging team I clogg with. There name is little river cloggers . I always have fun when I clogging
@@southernbythegraceofgod6524 @jakeyell
@lauralucchesi-wright3292 Please do do without, "Do what Tho wilt", as for me I LOVE IT!!
Its from the bible.
It would have been much, much nicer to have a video showing the clogging and not jumping all over the place between the band and dancers.
... some of the creepiest editing I've ever seen. YIKES!
Agreed. Would MUCH rather have seen the demonstration of the DANCING, rather than the singing.
@@GodsFavoriteBassPlyr agreed. the singer really detracts. Obviously over-recording.
TOTALLY disagree
Camera work was atrocious.
Camera guy was too busy trying to begat to pay attention to the people dancing!
FALSE
Influenced by Scots /Irish folk music .
It's clogging, so why are there so many gratuitous head shots? And also, half the video is just the bass player's face. Who allowed this person to film?
Oh shut up! Enjoy it for what it is.
John Begat
Irish singing though. Great performance nonetheless
Irish and Ulster-Scot more specifically.
Always wondered why there are no wood flutes in this music, as there are in Irish music. My theory is that poor dental care in early America resulted in tooth loss. Once that happens, your flute playing days are done.
And a snifter or two of moonshine?
Do you think the Irish had good dental hygiene?
honestly eventhough imm not amemrican i want to learn this dance so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry The Lyrics sucked to much begetting in a short song.
Cry about it
@@mastaplokoon1564 Nah Just stating a fact!😂
Stating a fact that you are so mad about lyrics
@@mastaplokoon1564 Nah not mad Mast lol It's a stupid song with stupid lyrics. I believe in GOD myself but this is just a stupid lyrical song sorry.
