- Josh Allen (@f.l.y.r.o.d) is a Kent based fly angler who developed a highly, highly effective method for catching thin lipped mullet over mudflats. It involves fishing two flexi floss bloodworms with the point fly fished on the bottom but fished over depth so the point fly is not directly underneath the indicator. Takes are registered a dip or slide of the indicator which should be met with a brisk strip strike.
London based legend Hector Rodriguez demonstrates Josh's method in this short video.
Awesome stuff Tim, been waiting for this for a while after following yours and Josh’s exploits. Given me the buzz to try and track some fish down on the North Norfolk coast.
If they're thin lipped mullet or even golden greys it is a supper effective method.
Another great video🎣👍💪 I keep meaning to get out after the mullet!
Thanks for your support Andy, it's much appreciated.
Nice one Tim & Hector, a nice visual demo 👏
Get on thin lips over mud and you're guaranteed fish with this method.
Great explanation guys and well shot.
Don't bite the tippet Hector, wrecked my front teeth
Mine 2. Got a grove . 😂

thanks for that, Tim
This method is super effective, I went from one fish per three/four sessions to three fish per session!
Flexifloss is buoyant, isn't it? Do your apps worms have a weighted underbody so that the legs waft about vertically while the body sinks into the mud?
Some flexi-floss is more buoyant than others. Wapsi is very buoyant. Sometimes though the straighter floss appears to work better.
It can just take them a while to find it
@@davidstocker5736 No, just glass beads.
It’s good 👍
Catch any species on fry🐟
Does this method work on river/lake mullet ?
That is one messy environment - mullet are bad enough without the mud!
This method makes catching thin lips easy, I'm speaking from personal experience here.
