Was watching the video on the pc with speakers on and my girlfriend walked in half crying because she thought i was going to propose... naah, just watching evo vids again😁 Evo looks great man!
Hope you guys enjoyed the video! If you're looking to refresh the feel of your car and shave some seconds off of lap times, definitely look into some coilovers.
Gears and Gasoline I installed some D2 Racing coilovers on my ZX2. Holy crap did it change how the car handled. Before, the car would lean during heavy speed changes. It would also heavily understeer under heavy cornering. Not to mention the atrocious fender gap of the stock struts. I could fit a whole 4-5 fingers under there! Now, the car virtually doesn't sway or squat, and it feels like it wants to oversteer now! It still understeers at the limit of grip, but taking turns has never been better. Lowered it to the point where I can comfortably fit two of my fingers between the fender and tire. Only downside is, hitting big bumps at speed launches me out of my seat. xD
Thanks for the timely video. I am just about to pull the trigger on some FA 500's with SWIFT springs for my 2018 WRX. Im actually ordering a custom FA build through a third party because they use Whiteline hard rubber top hats instead of the aluminum ones and I have a commute. Any thoughts on setup before I pull the trigger? What spring rates do you have? One note on your setup. AWD cars, as you know, tend to understeer like FF. A good way to counteract this is by setting the camber a bit higher in the front, which it sounds like you did, and then making the rear a bit stiffer than the front. Maybe just a few clicks. SWIFT actually makes their lowering springs for the WRX that way. Stiffer in the rear than in the front. I noticed you had them all at 12. Give it a shot and let that tail loose man
Folks don’t appreciate instrumental music anymore. There’s a direct connection to the heart that everyone has forgotten. Amazing video. Amazing channel. Thank you.
The last 2 months or so i decided to start from the beginning of your videos and watch all the way through and how you guys have grown as a channel is damn impressive. Fantastic camera work, makes me want to start a youtube car channel of my own, and who knows maybe one day you guys could make a trip up to the Pittsburgh area for some of the car meets here. Keep doing what you guys are doing, and congrats on 300K, its certainly well deserved.
@6.49 Nice subby t-shirt! That`s why I like your channel so much. You are not Evo's fanboy or anything like that. You can appreciate any manufacturer that build`s enjoyable cars. You are true Petrolheads !!
That music and the sound of the engine, it's just so... I can't choose a word to properly describe it... Perfect? I think perfect is the word. It's like I'm in heaven
Great cinematography. Music is epic. I like that you don't go crazy and let the simplicity of the Evos design stay true. No crazy canards etc. My Apex silver Evo 8 is similarly simple just a CF lip spoiler and 18" forged OZ's. Just repainted the red brakes and found Brembo stickers on Amazon
Great edit, great story...you know its good when you find yourself watching something you care nothing about and are really enjoying it. Fantastic job!
Mike O'Barr yeah, it’s not like they also have SPONSORSHIPS N SHIT TOO. I’m all for them being monetized, but when it’s THAT close to the cutoff length, it’s really obvious why.
Great camera work, production quality, and fine choice in music that goes against the grain of typical car videos. Well done! Please do a DIY alignment video!
I know how you feel man! It was a pain in the a$$ when installing my Teins. Its a trip how much more eager I am to drive at any opportunity. Even to the grocery store!
Perfect music choice for this kind of content, especially compared to mighty car mods video montage with there 10 second loop of " Hard dance mania" music. Thank you for that!
I'm really hoping that you guys post an update with your longer term impressions of, "daily driving" ability of the 510s. I've been highly considering them for my car. I like to drive it to events, race and go on trips, but I don't drive it during the week. Just wondering how bearable they are.
I want to get the same coil overs for my evo, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense to buy those until I get the engine back in it, and rebuild the transmission, and fix the ball joints, but for sure after that!
Never heard of fortune auto - Are these actually good coilovers, or the same old cheap ones that transmit all road noise, crash & bang over bumps & corrode after 2 winters?
The thing that is nice about your evo is that you dont go for crazy power with every mod under the sun just do some highway pulls. It is nice to see someone build a car that has purpose versus just saying you have 600hp and then do nothing with it besides rip gears on the highway. To each their own in the end, just never understood it.
loving this video bro! thank you for the review. I am thinking now of getting me a pair but with air cups, i don't want to scrape my lip lol! Well doe video bro! keep em coming!
Lovely video as always and great weight savings! Most of that would be un-sprung weight which is even better. Are you planning to corner balance the car, or just get it "feels good" close with ride height?
What do you film these with? The production quality is phenomenal, I'd love to get started in automotive filming and right now I only have a Sony A6000 with a 50mm 1.8(which I'll probably sell), a 30mm f1.4 and a 12mm f2
There's an ice track event put on by Mercedes in Gimli, Manitoba. You guys should contact them to cover it. They drive on a frozen lake. I live not to far, can help you out anyway I can
Was watching the video on the pc with speakers on and my girlfriend walked in half crying because she thought i was going to propose... naah, just watching evo vids again😁
Evo looks great man!
Was she mad afterwards or she just LOL-ed?
Bit of both😂 mad at first lol-ed after it😁
Haha...
@@mrjordy512 Lol. XD
r/thathappened
Production quality is unreal as per 😻

Usually I'm not a sucker to advertisements, but Fortune auto has my vote for coils on my 09 Cobalt SS/TC.

Looking forward to the next track day video with the coilovers. You are going to love it! Keep making great videos!
Thanks for the informative video. What spring rate's did you end up going with.

This is so satisfying on so many levels!
@6.49
Nice subby t-shirt! That`s why I like your channel so much. You are not Evo's fanboy or anything like that. You can appreciate any manufacturer that build`s enjoyable cars.
You are true Petrolheads !!
Love the classical music paired with superb automotive film making! :)
Only on G&G will you get classical music in a coilover install video 😂
So peaceful tbh
So special and majestic, feel so enchanted
I thought you were marrying the car at the end with that music
Nah, just engaged.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
You're very welcome!!! I have no idea what I did but you kept saying my name and thanking me.
You're Welcome and Merry Christmas.
Camerawork on point as always, keep up the great stuff

honestly that scene around 8.10
Watched it on repeat like 20 times, its unreal. Keep making magic guys
That evo is a dream
I really appreciate the quieter music. Sometimes it can be a little overbearing, but this was nice to hear
Great edit, great story...you know its good when you find yourself watching something you care nothing about and are really enjoying it. Fantastic job!
wow i could watch these videos forever! i love how smooth and crispy the editing is and the quality is amazing!
This video, information and music is so poetic.
Canon in D. Nice touch dude 👌
as a music major who loves cars, i can really appreciate this
6:55 I like how Ben is wearing Subaru shirt
The music definitely made this video. Congrats on the coilovers!
I love the production level and cinematography of your videos.
Ahh yes as a fellow Virginian this makes me happy. Gears & Gasoline and Fortune Auto. Keep up the great work guys.
Definitely my favorite car channel on UA-cam
Love waking up to your vids on the weekend
9 months later, still one of the best automotive edited video on YT.
Watching videos like this really make me miss my white Evo IX MR...😢
Always quality videos. More please.
I’m loving the classical music.

Directing skills over 9000!
Miss my Evo every time i watch your videos. Great Car👍
Awesome music. More like that
Really dig the music here!
I have been spoiled. Any car videos I watch from now on without this music will not be as good as this video.
Good stuff. Diggin' the EVO.
Ten minutes *and ONE SECOND*
Because *ONE SECOND*
I downvote nearly all videos that are between 10:01 and 10:15. Because of the IMPLICATION
@Filip Vatavu mine is 10:01
They gotta make money you know
It's almost like they are trying to make back the money it takes to run the channel! Man they have a lot of nerve.
This video was so soothing and relaxing!!!!!
I know how you feel man! It was a pain in the a$$ when installing my Teins. Its a trip how much more eager I am to drive at any opportunity. Even to the grocery store!
Thanks for the video. Love the choice of music. Plan on adding FA 500’s to my 06 Mustang 4.0 in the near future.
Love the music with this video.
Great choice of the music
Outstanding production quality! Well done! 🙌
He has a mitsu & a Subaru shirt
That is true character.
Heart sunk a little at 4:35 as the nut fell into the abyss.
Freaking beautiful vid. Excellent camera angles. I love how the fortune autos match the blue accents!
Hope you guys throughly enjoyed your trip.
I sure did.

Perfect music choice for this kind of content, especially compared to mighty car mods video montage with there 10 second loop of " Hard dance mania" music. Thank you for that!
What part of VA are you guys out of? Love to see my homestate doing big things! Shout out to Fortune auto too making quality VA made coilovers
I'm really hoping that you guys post an update with your longer term impressions of, "daily driving" ability of the 510s. I've been highly considering them for my car. I like to drive it to events, race and go on trips, but I don't drive it during the week. Just wondering how bearable they are.

I drive those same roads every weekend! 😮😮😮
Love your guys channel! I feel inspired everytime i watch, keep it up :)
Props for doing the paid promotion disclosure thing right. Lots of UA-camrs don’t. I think it makes the video look more legit actually.
I want to get the same coil overs for my evo, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense to buy those until I get the engine back in it, and rebuild the transmission, and fix the ball joints, but for sure after that!
Nice choice of music
never thought classical and an Evo 9 would fit so well but holy shit it does.
Awesome, as usual.
Great music!
Hey I just realized but is your license plate a reference to archer?
Can't wait to get coilovers for my car! This made me want a commitment to get them a lot sooner than later! Going for Gecko G-Street coils!
Hopeful there'll be detailing of the wheel wells for a clean backdrop to those new shiny 510's
Good vid. Makes me miss my evos greatly
Great choice of soundtrack, Canon in D major.
Amazing video as always, really considering getting the 510s for the Evo
MCM SHOE TEST! nice!
Beautiful
Beautiful machine 😍
Loved the song choice about 4:25. It's air in b major if I'm not mistaken
Never heard of fortune auto - Are these actually good coilovers, or the same old cheap ones that transmit all road noise, crash & bang over bumps & corrode after 2 winters?

Nice bgm! 👌
G&G makes me proud to rep their sticker on my WRX 👌
I have a WRX, and every time I see the EVO I just go " I wanttttttttt it!" Darn you Bens! Darn You!

so beautiful
Lovely video as always and great weight savings! Most of that would be un-sprung weight which is even better. Are you planning to corner balance the car, or just get it "feels good" close with ride height?
^^^YES! (what this guy said) Please get the car corner balanced.
Great video, couldn't help but notice the firehawk indy 500 tires, Im looking at a set due to their great value. How did they perform for you?
my favorite evo
Man, bet you wish you had that height and ride adjustability on that cross country trip huh?
That was part of what motivated me to put it on. Got SO SICK of scraping.
I can sympathize with you there. It was hard to watch that poor thing plowing gravel in the road trip videos. Cheers.
I feel sexually harassed by that evo and the music
4:24
Yeah dude I feel it
Can't rape the willing.
I bet u gonna search Lancer Evo 9 Rule34
haha that's too funny!
I live not to far, can help you out anyway I can
Their cross continental road trip probably got inspired by that guy in the 300hp GTI they reviewed sometime ago
Working on a Mitsu while wearing the shirt of “the enemy”, aka Subaru...YES!!!!!👌
Great vid
Go on Skyline Dr!
