I've been wearing my same two sterling silver chains for 3 years they haven't worn out!
I have a 20-30 year old silver ring and it is very worn, darkening etc.. but im pretty sure you can get that polished for not too expensive

silver doesn't wear out per se, it's just softer then platinum or palladium and it might get more scratches. I have several pieces that are decades old and still look smashing (but they're big and they do have small scartches, which I personally love).
Gin Öble try to polish it yourself with a dremel the silver jewelry polish and dremel you can get both for under $100 and polish it whenever you want it you want to take it to a jeweler you’ll pay atleast $30+ pure polish
