You cried, as a man in his 40s, on camera about retiring from news videos and immediately flip-flopped back to normal while almost gaslighting everyone to act like nothing happened. Were you just trying to milk the little “quitting UA-cam” trend game theory started a little while ago? Now the Jay situation. You need therapy.
As someone who has been subbed since 2013, it’s sad to see what you’ve done with the channel.
Game theory didn't start the trend. It was some other guy who wasn't really quitting but more so taking a break. Then everyone followed suit.

(Edit Feb 23 at 8:20pm) 2024: Jay mans Rich's Channel AGAIN when Rich ends up in the hospital. (A couple weeks later) Rich: I'm not doing news anymore and am wanting to do big production stuff. (Same Month) Rich: I have no videos for Jay to edit so I said goodbye to him. (Less than a week later.) Rich: Here's a video on the PS5 Pro; let's get into it. Rich4DaysLater: Let's get into MORE news regarding the PS5 Pro and how it's going to be a doorstop. Also Rich: I will not mention anything at all regarding me continuing to do shitpost news videos after "letting Jay go" because "I have nothing for him to edit anymore." Apparently RTU and TheCrapGamer aren't so different after all...
(Edit 2/24/24) I understand why, but man this comment picked up traction quickly on the likes. Thank you everybody, lol. Also, I like Rich and have enjoyed his news videos on stuff I'd never look up myself for years, but as a several year long viewer enjoying his content I've got to call him out on his BS and as he puts it "Call a spade a spade." I've never idolized him like people so easily do with UA-camrs and other social media personalities, but he's been a longtime creator on this platform that's made many mistakes (and still does as we are all human in this world.) but owned up to most (if not a vast majority) of his mistakes and grown and matured from them.
One thing I've always respected about him (at least for the time I've been watching him, which is less than a decade as I found out about him around 1-3 years before the pandemic.) is that for the most part he has been a down to earth guy that is very self-aware and can usually (key word usually) always recognize his flaws and has no problem owning up to recognizing that he has them (past and present) especially in his livestreams.
For me this isn't turning me away from his content or having his livestreams up as background while I'm doing phone or computer stuff or sleeping, but I really wanted to put out a statement calling him out for the biggest problem I've seen him have (aka that I'm personally aware of) that's of his own doing (that's not older stuff that happened in years past prior to me finding him here on UA-cam.) since I've started having up his content for gaming news up on this channel.
Finally, if comments I've seen are true; it's EXTREMELY sad that Rich ONLY paid Jay what he owed him as damage control AFTER information he posted privately (or whatever, as I've not looked into it because I'm too busy) leaked; including apparently him calling Jay a parasite.
I really hope that things really do get amended between the two of them, and that Rich is able to move past this and use this as an opportunity to better himself moving forward into the future; and I still wish him the best.
I also really hope (and it seems like he absolutely will) that Jay will be able to take full advantage of this opportunity, be able to revive his channel in a big way, make a mark and name for himself on this platform in the coming weeks and months, and be able to experience great personal growth and fulfillment for his UA-cam Career and his personal life alike.

I do see your point, but you're comparing apples to oranges with that one. With a console you're not just buying the hardware, you're buying the promise of software for it that justifies the purchase. And I say this as someone who is blown away by anyone who would spend a four digit number on a phone once, let alone annually.

My ps5 is still fairly new I got it about 4 or 5 months ago. There is absolutely no way I'm buying ANOTHER ps5. This is always so ridiculous to me, it always seems like such a greedy cash grab. Just push for developers to make good games that actually run on the product we already own. I hate how they are just asking people to buy a 500 dollar product just for slightly better specs. Make games, not bricks, optimize your flippin system.

I doubt the Pro will be $500. Knowing Sony they'll price it around the $700 mark and personally for that price I'd rather just get a mid tier PC. But I agree with tue sentiment. Sony seems to over promise games on these consoles then under deliver. These arent cellphones. I dont want to upgrade yearly.

It might help Sony. I've waited on the PS5 because I didn't feel like wasting time and money searching for it. I waited to buy the PS4Pro, so the PS5 original is not much of an upgrade. So yes, I'm waiting for the PS5Pro.
Exactly. The shortage of PS5 and backlog of PS4 Pro games kept me from upgrading, and I figured Sony would be doing another Pro edition for the current gen. Might as well get the PS5 Pro for the increased performance and longevity.

Elden Ring dlc will also be on ps4. Armored Core 6 is on ps4 too. I love my ps5, but the PS5 has a serious issue. The internal SSD is soldered onto the motherboard. So, once your PS5 SSD dies it will be E-waste. PS4 has a longer shelf life because you can replace the hard drive if it dies.
If that's the case makes more sense to get a digital one and then get the disc drive attachment. PS 5 is the biggest disappointment it made me an xbox fan. Series X

Hardware has nothing to do with the heart and soul that people put into their products. Baldurs Gate 3 runs fine on my i7 4790k system with a 3070 , at 4k 60FPS. The only limitation is the amount of time and effort devs are willing to put into the games.
People are already complaining about the resolution of Final Fantasy 7 rebirth. Dragon's Dogma 2 is definitely slated to push Hardware beyond what is acceptable. Final Fantasy 16 was faulted for not being able to hit 60 frames per second and I can keep on going. Now we act like what do we need a pro for.

The only thing that’d make sense for a PS5 Pro is 8K resolution when the standard/slim PS5 can play at 4K 60 FPS in which I’m happy enough when playing it on my 4K TV. And I’m sure the loading speeds for GTA 6 Online will be faster on PS5 without needing a Pro version.

It’s worth mentioning as well that the last stopgap consoles had major compatibility issues with games that weren’t patched for them.
I’m surprised that it isn’t mentioned more often but I personally have had game breaking issues with every game that wasn’t patched on my Series X.
If the PS5-Pro has DISC backwards compatibility with PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS4-Pro, PS5, it will be a titan of a hit. I promise. But Sony is too stupid to do somthing this obvious and just own.

I would love to have that extremely powerful doorstop. Also the reason the PS4 slim and Pro were both released like that and it was still a success was because they were both advertised together for awhile. So when the slim did come out people already knew there was a pro coming out 2 months later. So they didn’t feel like they just wasted their money on the slim when they couldn’t have just waited. In this case people bought the slim because there has been no word whatsoever on the pro.

In my opinion, i think PS5 should have dropped this year or Christmas 2023. Because PS4 was still capable for playing new games just fine. GOW and HFW are perfect examples that games on ps4 are still perfectly fine, and there was no need for ps5.

its not holding it back, developers just program for the specs of the console, they take the base of that game, and upgrade it for thier advanced models so nothing gets held back, its just people putting thier games on older stuff, thats plenty fine man i wish they did it for anouther 5 years for the one x its a newer system .

I dont think the old gen consoles are holding back the new gen. its just that, at least to me. consoles have peaked. They keep making them more graphically intensive and powerful. but we are starting to get to a point where the audience (Both Gamers, and Game makers) really doesn't need all of that. especially games that are more stylized.
If they still look good on a ps4, and they still sell well enough. then why stop making them

Backwards compatibility as an incentive is a good one but it's a hard reality for them to release it.
The biggest problem that faced the PS5. Was the limited availability and the scalpers. While the sales numbers looked good. It hid the fact that gamers did have them. Which meant that gamers weren't buying games for the new system. Which forced game developers to continue to support the older systems. By the time you could go into a store to purchase a new system, the rumors of a new and more powerful version are on the horizon. So why not wait, and then to make matters worse, Sony is quoted saying the PS5 is on the back end of its lifespan.
Please take a break and go get the professional help you so desperately need.
I honestly agree with you here. What is the purpose of the PS5 Pro? The PS4 Pro fixed a lot of issues that the OG PS4 had, like making it quieter and making games run better. There are no real flaws or performance issues with the PS5, so what is the Pro improving?

I’m still on PS4 pro. I’ll be getting that PS5 pro for FF7 Rebirth and GTA 6. Because I’m still on Modern Warfare and Madden 19 I will also need a PS 5 pro to play the latest versions. So, I can’t wait.

problem with base ps5 is that performance mode often is sub 1080p even dropping to 720p and it can look really awefull on a 4k tv.

I think the "console lifecycle" is being redefined. So, graphics and all that are already so good, I think we're just at a peak, where game devs really don't care to make such high-fidelity games anymore. I don't think that part really matters as much. So, there's less demand for new hardware.
there was a reason why around 2020 i desided to move from playstation to pc one i can play all my old games every generation even emulating those older games i grew up with and plus i dont have to pay contently a subscription to ps plus also along the fact i can multitask and use my webrowser while i game in a since I can do everything at once & last but not only my hardware is gonna last me years or dacades and still be useful
