When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least! 😢 Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass, also when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that? Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony and through his many charities. He is a Legend in the making and will go down in History. This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it: This mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was created by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The boys both loved the same girl, but she loved Dimash, so the other boy grew resentful over time, started a war, using the symbol of the necklace given to him by his friend Dimash, as the crest on his army uniform. 1) Dimash, was the boy drowning at the beginning and at the end. 2) The Piper, is the one who saved Dimash, became the leader, and was killed by Dimash at the end. 3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all affected by the war. “People are the caravan…. Life is the way”: Dimash spoke these words in Kazakh, when he found his daughter dead. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love, and harmony. Lilia wrote the lyrics, but guided by the story he wanted to tell, including the screenplay which I think he had already sketched out in fairly detailed form relatively early in the song's 3 year development arc. He started actively developing this song as Covid emerged in 2020, but it was also a natural progression after another of his earlier compositions, War & Peace. And the seeds go back to his childhood, and thoughts about the kinds of themes he saw in art such as the Kazakh folk song Samaltau, one of his favorites, a story grounded in Russia's conscription of Kazakhs in 1916 to die in WW1. I know the instrument you mentioned as a "Jew's Harp". There's a wikipedia page for it. Yeah, he gets shot too. The point is that if you kill, you're part of the loop of killing. He is also engaged in charity activities and spends some time to give comfort to the less fortunate. Another good thing about Dimash is his passion to achieve higher education. In The Story Of One Sky he sings the whole soundtrack himself. The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it. He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay. The premiere was on September 24, 2022. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is. OMG he is such a phenomenal actor. Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. She was pregnant and in the end of the video she gave birth to her and Dimashs' (character) second child. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. When he came home and saw his daughter dead on the ground, he had to assume that his wife and unborn child were also killed. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. When I first saw the video, I was shocked. I didn't think he was going to shoot his friend. But in the end that all made sense. Dimash wanted to show what revenge can do. Violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. It was so heartbreaking to see Dimash drown at the end. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace. In this video you can see how the main religions are represented mostly with his voice. That's the daughter found dead by Dimash after the carnage. It is so hard to watch any parent losing a child. You now need to watch the concert live version of this song. Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass, also when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that?
Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony and through his many charities. He is a Legend in the making and will go down in History.
This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it:
This mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was created by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The boys both loved the same girl, but she loved Dimash, so the other boy grew resentful over time, started a war, using the symbol of the necklace given to him by his friend Dimash, as the crest on his army uniform.
1) Dimash, was the boy drowning at the beginning and at the end.
2) The Piper, is the one who saved Dimash, became the leader, and was killed by Dimash at the end. 3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all affected by the war.
“People are the caravan…. Life is the way”: Dimash spoke these words in Kazakh, when he found his daughter dead.
For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love, and harmony.

(2) The artifact that the boy found in the trunk and that was turned into necklaces is a "gnomon", a needle for a sundial (a rustic device for keeping time);

Lilia wrote the lyrics, but guided by the story he wanted to tell, including the screenplay which I think he had already sketched out in fairly detailed form relatively early in the song's 3 year development arc. He started actively developing this song as Covid emerged in 2020, but it was also a natural progression after another of his earlier compositions, War & Peace. And the seeds go back to his childhood, and thoughts about the kinds of themes he saw in art such as the Kazakh folk song Samaltau, one of his favorites, a story grounded in Russia's conscription of Kazakhs in 1916 to die in WW1.

Yeah, he gets shot too. The point is that if you kill, you're part of the loop of killing. That's why his emphasis is on the child, and choosing life, not the dead.

Yes, that is his own production company. Dimash knows how to invest. I am almost certain that when the inevitable time comes for him to go down the stage, he will not be short of money. He likewise opened his clothing line, perfume business, and a classy restaurant in Dubai and in his own country. I'm sure he will have more businesses as time goes by. He is also engaged in charity activities and spends some time to give comfort to the less fortunate. Another good thing about Dimash is his passion to achieve higher education. Sooner or later he will achieve one of his dreams of having a Ph.D. degree after getting his master's degree with excellent grades in the middle of the pandemic.

The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it.

As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is.

Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. She was pregnant and in the end of the video she gave birth to her and Dimashs' (character) second child. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. When he came home and saw his daughter dead on the ground, he had to assume that his wife and unborn child were also killed. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. When I first saw the video, I was shocked. I didn't think he was going to shoot his friend. But in the end that all made sense. Dimash wanted to show what revenge can do. Violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. It was so heartbreaking to see Dimash drown at the end. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace.
In this video you can see how the main religions are represented mostly with his voice. Islam with the type of Arabic melisma (unfortunately I don't know the correct explanation for this type of singing), Buddhism with the monks and the enchanting "Ohm", Judaism with the shofar and the Christian church with the soprano singing, which often can be heard in churches.

Btw, Dimash has received an award from Pope Francis personally at The Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Kazakhstan on September 13, 2022. He performed the song there in connection with the congress before the premiere. Can you imagine, a Muslim receiving an award from the head of the Catholic Church. How wonderful is that🥰.

This is a complete masterpiece. Dimash also wrote the scrip for this short film. The lyrics were written by someone else because Dimash wanted to sing the song in English to reach as many people as possible, but the words and ideas were directed by Dimash. Of course, Dimash, being such a humble person, gave all the credit to the lyricist.

It's OK to cry and get all emotional. I cry every time I watch this MV. Did you catch the gun click when they found the little girl smiling up at them? That's the daughter found dead by Dimash after the carnage. It is so hard to watch any parent losing a child. You now need to watch the concert live version of this song. Dimash truly gave it his all for this. At the end of the song, he was completely spent. "We need peace!" he pleaded to the world and everyone there at his concert. Dimash used his complete vocal tool box to perform this song and it is a masterpiece. Tour De Force. Love Dimash.

There is only one song as far as I know that Dimash himself wrote the lyrics: OMIR. Beautiful song he composed as a gift for his dears, "painting" his most inner emotions. If you want to know Dimash, that is the song. No high notes, so much emotions.

About the lyrics, he always decide what the lyrics must be, what about, how it is written. In interviews he already said that he loves poetry and someone who composes and sings must be prepared to know if the lyrics are well written, if it is poetic, if it is saying exatcly what he wants to say in the way he wants to say it. ❤❤❤

The story I believe starts with the 3 children. The boy saved is Dimash, the older boy ends up being the ruler and the girl being the wife of Dimash. The token throughout the video is shared by all 3 children and the ruler adds the symbol to his regimen. The baby born in the end has the token as well as the Dimash like leader in the end.
