Mr Mayor.. please explain to me in layman's terms; what are the official responsibilities of Council police? I'd love to know which areas they have authority over the national police. Is there an easy document or strategy in place to educate residents on City By-laws? I'm excited to hear your response.
24:26 I beg to differ on the issues related to Water Quality: 1. all the water sources for Harare were protected, check all the wetlands, Monavale, Pomona etc etc they were open spaces until the COH started dishing out that land for construction. 2. There was proper wastewater treatment, with paddocks being watered across the Budiriro area, which aided in treatment before water reached Chivero. 3. Recycling water is helping to ensure there is water in chivero all year round, otherwise it wouldnt last 6 months. 4. My big question: who did you want to take up your dirty water? Norton? Chinhoyi? Among the challenges you have at MJ, the water quality issue is the easiest to solve. Your answer is in Wastewater management. It solves raw water quality, saves you big on chemicals & possibly treatment rates. IT SAVES YOU WATER BIG TIME!!
Firstly,,,thank you very much Ollah for such a show like this one,,, asi tinokumbirawo kuti kana wabvunza vakuru ava mubvunzo then chivapawo mukana wavo wekuti vanyatsotipindura zvakakwana nekuti ndimi munenge makatotimiririra pamibvunzo yedu kwavari,,, above all thank you for the good work you are doing as Podcast yenyika 👏🫡
Mayor..you are a wise man..the people of Harare has been suffering because, they don't understand politics, they nurses their emotions, they don't understand that you got to navigate your way through these polical landscape, you must wake up
He's well spoken. Articulated the city's plans quite well, I just don't know about the implementation side of things. I don't even know if 20% of the things he has drawn will see the light of day. So many stumbling blocks in our country, especially on the political front, which hinder a lot of economic development. Ma think tanks taanawo, vanhu vakafunda taanavo, maplans akanaka aripo, but problem yedu tose toiziva hedu... iwe neni tinebasa!
Your Worship.. What about private individuals who have prospered from refuse collection? Private enterprises charging for collection of refuse. Who is regulating this?
It's sad to hear the issue of the delaying the implementation of an ERP system. Thieves thrive on manual processes and some are benefitting and will sabotage any plans to implement one.
I reminisce of the days when Mayors used to be respectable individuals of great. reputation from their contribution to their respective cities . I rest my case.
They have been talking about the Harare Chitungwiza railway since 1980, in fact it is a Smith project. Come 2024 they are still talking about it but no action
Attending that zanu ideological training was the biggest sellout move. i like the guy but that was a misguided act. He must have a moral political compass kwete kuti mhepo yaenda uko ndiko kwandaenda. zanu is responsible for nothing but plunder, destruction and deformation. No justification can make that right
Why are some areas receiving regular bills from your office? Rates are out of control! Who is even earning that amount of money to meet the bills you send out? You are killing retirees! I have soo many stories of retirees who had an opportunity to buy (on mortgage over their whole life times) low to middle density properties. They are now subject to bills they cannot service! Have you looked at their pensions? I know.. I know.. give me a moment.. I will say that most of these retirees are not aware that they can apply for reprieve with your office and get benefits.. How come there is no programme rollout? Broadcasts? Information brochures? Maybe one on one conversations with them when they come limping, tired, pain in their eyes, to pay their bills? Haaaaa ndati ndine mibvunzo!
Owen, can you make your interviews strictly English. Am shona but your audiences are not all shonas. Apart from the official 16 languages in zimba we also hv ppp from other countries who also want to tune to your prodcast. Thank you. Secondly,, your interjections are too much. Allow the mayor to explain

Why cant Harare City Council hire developers in their IT department and build your own ERP if PRAZ is being a stumbling block?
Good question!!
I know a company called Celsoft those are good local developers but sadly not supported
