My wife and I visited this ship in 2018. The ships interior was fitted with the same styles of the titanic. So if you visit you will get a glimpse as to what the Titanic would have looked like, albeit much more luxurious.
Just came across your fabulous series. I was in Belfast in March 2013. Unfortunately Nomadic was not open yet and I was really disappointed because I was dying to see her. Lifelong Titanic buff who has been a huge Thomas Andrews fan for long as I can remember and I’m dying to step aboard this amazing little piece of history. Thank you for the video and I don’t blame you for buying stuff at the gift shop because I was surprised I didn’t buy more when I was in there either. Planning a trip back in 2025 so I can see all of the stuff I didn’t get to. I love Belfast.
Thanks for the comment. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It’s a shame you didn’t get to board Nomadic, fingers crossed for next time you go. You won’t be disappointed.
Your videos are so enjoyable. You have a great combination of information...story telling...and humor that just draws me in. Watching your videos is like having someone tell me a story. Your description of everything paints incredible pictures for the eyes of my mind, and I can imagine the events happening as you tell the story. Also, being on location where so many of these events took place is really cool to see. I've been interested in the Titanic and all her surrounding stories ever since she was discovered in 1985. Thank you for producing this series. I can't wait to see what else you come out with.
Really appreciate these videos. Very well researched and presented. I always wondered about the lives of the survivors years after the sinking of the Titanic. When I first heard about the Titanic,in the mid 1970s, it was about the speculation of what kind of condition it was in and stories about how the ship was cursed. I remember the news paper headlines back in 1985, there was a very grainy photograph of one of the boilers. Hello and just subscribed from South Florida USA.
Very enjoyable video. Thank you for this. Was on the Nomadic today and it felt like a transportation through time. You could sense the history. Amazing restoration work to achieve this.
Another amazing episode! There are many amazing Titanic and steamer ocean liner channels but yours is my favorite! It’s a bucket list dream of mine to visit the Nomadic, hoping to finally go next year. Hope you’re doing well, you have an awesome talent for documentaries 🙏 and I just love your humour ✌️🎉
Wow what an amazing comment, that has made my day. Thank you so much. Belfast is an amazing city and the Nomadic is incredible, you won’t be disappointed. I hope you have a great time on your visit.
Informative video! I was fortunate to go to the museum in Belfast & see Nomadic around 2015. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to go in her 🥲. I had no idea about her history or that she had only recently returned to Belfast. I’m kind of surprised that she wasn’t saved sooner with the Titanic movie & Robert Ballard finding the ship in the 80s.
I had a section on the Traffic in the video but unfortunately had to cut it out to save on video time. During the Second World War she fell into enemy hands and was eventually torpedoed by the British Navy in 1941. The Germans tried to salvage her wreck but she was too badly damaged and was sent for scrap.
Your videos are great and touch on often forgotten aspects of the titanic story. I've been watching various Titanic themed videos while building my LEGO Titanic and came across your channel. I hope you continue to make content for the rest of us Titanic nerds out there. Cheers!
These videos are marvelous. Congratulations for making such a great content. I’m looking forward to keep seeing more from your work. Greetings from Venezuela 💞✨🥰
I was only there in October 2023 …I also have a copy of a letter from Eva hart a 7 year old who was a survivor of the titanic where she wrote back many letters to school children and relied to everyone. I have subscribed to your channel….love your channel and keep up the good work
@BeyondTheTitanic I'm thrilled you're still making videos. The deep dives into the lives of the passengers are enthralling. One of my favorite stories I've heard from titanic is that of the drunk pastry chef. It's a little more lighthearted (all things considered), which is nice once in a while. Maybe someday I'll get to hear you tell it and likely learn a lot more!
the ss nomadic tops everything because of the thomas crapper™ toilet, the best toilet ever™ nothing will ever top the ss nomadic, the sheer epicness of the thomas crapper™ toilet is enough to make every ones mouths drop.
Glad she was saved from the scrapyard, a shame what that restaurant owner did to her though. Such an ugly conversion, and hearing she got partially cut up hurt.
Thanks for the comment. Whilst I can not be certain as to why they have not reinstated her mast, I assume it is probably down to cost and practicality. They have not recreated her bridge fully either. I suppose some things were deemed to not be needed for her restoration.
@@BeyondTheTitanic What you see today was always intended as a phase 1 of the restoration with a mast and faithful recreation of the Flying Bridge deck as phase 2 however costs seem to have put the project on the back burner
There is a book about Nomadic but I’m unsure as to what extent it goes into detail about her restoration SS Nomadic: Titanic's Little Sister amzn.eu/d/d1gjm0O
So her original engines were removed many years ago. During her restoration the idea of refitting her with a working propulsion system was explored. However it was deemed too expensive. There were also concerns around the legal requirements restoring her as a working, functioning vessel and that it may distract her restoration away from what she once was. A modern engine with modern sailing regulations would have resulted in her restoration being unauthentic to her original 1911 condition. I hope this answers your question.

I had no idea this existed. This is now on my bucket list when i visit Belfast
Thanks for the comment, you’ll have a great time.
I live near it and it certainly should be, it's a really good replica inside.
The SS Nomadic deserves far more attention and fame like her bigger sisters, small or not; she’s a symbolic piece of White Star’s bygone era!
😢😢😢😢rip titanic
Thank you for this channel - I have just discovered it and am delighted to binge watch the episodes!
Cheers from Gibraltar 😊

I think it was because it was owned by someone, but still surprising NOBODY tried to buy it off the owners.
So... What happened to Traffic?

I'm just curious; what is the intro music you used? I can't seem to find it anywhere and this is now the second channel I've heard use it.
I’ve put the link in the video description.

Fasinating story
ive been on the ship aug 2024 but sadly i coudnt get around proply due to haven problems walking
That's 2 legends we lost.
Is there a Book about Nomadic that shows all the Details of her Restoration?

Now we need one we need one on SS Traffic
The ship looks like that one friend that has all the famous friends and just like happens to photo bomb all the pictures
little sister? i believe little helpers but cool
Can she run?

@@BeyondTheTitanic ok thx btw nice video when next one
In simpler terms...No
Unfortunately 😢
Thanks. The next episode will be out in a few months time.
I was on the nomadic, its only an hour from me
Mini titanic
Did you see astors pocket watch sold for 1.5 million today in auction
Yes, I believe the sale price was £900,000 before auction fees.
you have done nomadic, you have done Olympic, that leaves one sister left
It does. I like to film on location and that means a trip out to Greece…..it’s in the pipeline 👍🏻
Will she ever have her mast back?
From my understanding there are currently no plans for this sadly.
@@BeyondTheTitanic kind of a shame, I wouldn’t of thought it would be difficult to do, but still amazing what they have done
So proud to call you my boyfriend 🥹
Wholesome!
