Man, this band is complete insanity not only are the tracks themselves absolutely amazing, but every single song gets such immense thought put into it, even getting beyond how Garrett somehow got the idea to make a mirrored song, but also managed to stick to it, but how they deal with quite complex topics without really holding back, making constant references that most of us wouldn't figure out without the annotations, and doing all this to create music that can be best described as "emotional", never neutral in any way. I honestly wish all of them the absolute best, especially knowing what some have gone through, they aren't just musicians, they are true artists of the greatest level. Great interview, can't wait to see all others (and any possible new ones)!
I’m over here thinking how crazy it is that “You see me see you” is a mirror/palindrome and this absolute mad man manages to write a whole song like that
Originally when skimming through the lyric book i skimmed over that page and saw the words flipped and thought it was just more trippy stuff going on with that cd. Listening to the song I heard the start and end be the same and thought "wow that is a really cool cyclical end to the song, especially as that song is like the turning point for the album at least aesthetically. I actually didnt realise until looking at the lyrics again that the whole lyrics flipped and i think my jaw legitiamately fell to the floor. The song was well worth the effort and much alike all your songs rewards the observant listener. Great job! (also thanks for interviewing Garret, I've loved both these interviews and the "The Night God Slept" ones, keep up the good work!)
I remember hear him talking about this in a podcast like a couple of weeks before the album came out and I had no idea what he meant then I heard this. I took a poetry class which made me examine countless poems straight and once I heard the exact couple of lines he said, I instantly got it, and I had no idea how to react because I never witnessed anything like this. I just kind of bragged about the greatness of Silent Planet to everyone I knew. Garrett, you're incredible. I must say, memorizing the lyrics are pretty tough so good luck on anyone trying!
I have a hard time finding single words that I can read backwards and that will make sense and this dudes writes a whole song like that? Please leave some talent for the rest of us, damn. I only realize it was a palindrone when I read the lyrics.
I had been listening to it for a couple days and definitely had no idea until I saw the lyric video on youtube, when it hit me I couldn't stop smiling I was like "dammit Garrett! You've gone and blown my freaking mind yet again". This is easily my favourite song on the album.
I have been waiting for this interview the most out of all of them! This song was so trippy, and when I noticed the same words repeating I had to look up the lyrics to see all of that! These interviews are amazing, and I love hearing from Garrett himself about the songs and their meanings. Please keep it up. They're awesome!
The most impressive lyrical poetry I've seen, I swear. Edit: When you hear the halfway point it's beyond obvious that it flipped. I hope nobody has trouble with that lol.
The writing on this entire record is phenomenal but this song was on another level, I don't think any song writer out there could come close to Garrett
I thought something was going on when I heard it a couple times hearing "I am autonomous, you told father" then hearing it flipped again at the end then I read the lyrics and figured it out. Pretty crazy song structure.
Before I even watched this video I noticed that and studied the song looking for the message and I thought it was about life and how there are opposites to every person every object every word. Kinda like everything is and isn't at the same time if that makes sense. Its hard to wrap your head around it but even the album art goes with it starts with colors in one spot and ends with them flipped opposite. Really complex song I dig it the drum fill at 2:21 was dope as shit too
I don’t think people realize the fact behind the statement “Mitch is a bonafide genius”. Like, he *literally* is a genius, based on IQ scores. >140 IQ, or whatever
"I don't recommend writing songs in palindromes"
lol it's not like any of us can do that either Garrett, you're so cute

Neither did I, I had to google it lol
This is definitely my favourite song off of the record. It's so good, Garrett has such a good talent in writing.
Garrett is love

So ridiculously awesome
This song is the in the midle of the album, 6 songs before, 6 songs after. I don't know why i find this so awesome :D

Why is this band so fucking cool?
The most impressive lyrical poetry I've seen, I swear.

Cut the song in half (1:35) and you're at the center!
The writing on this entire record is phenomenal but this song was on another level, I don't think any song writer out there could come close to Garrett
Me getting excited when Garrett gets excited about his palindrome creation
This song is a masterpiece.
I thought something was going on when I heard it a couple times hearing "I am autonomous, you told father" then hearing it flipped again at the end then I read the lyrics and figured it out. Pretty crazy song structure.
Great editing dude on all your vids
Thank you

I was dissapointed in the lack of footnotes but it's such a unique concept so I'll let it slide :)
Tim Cayem does the best artist interview content in the game.
Ur too kind

No Dislike.
