I actually had a ticket for exactly this flight, but in April - then the inaugural got delayed by over a month, and I switched to Singapore A380 First Class Suites to New York instead, for a very different airline report, and back Air France B777 BC. Finally our huge, powerful national carrier Lufthansa is where most of the others were 10 years ago..... It's such a change. It followed what is the most complete and most detailed report on Emirates First Class in general, in three episodes - a result of 32 hours trip. (on both my gehen and English channels) BUT: from Singapore, you'll have a great time! Because there's the Lounge experience before the flight, and I think they open the First Lounge again now, which I believe is amazing... (just as the LH First Lounge in Frankfurt is almost as amazing as the flight itself) And from SIN to BOM, you'll have way better food that I did, because it's Singapore catering not Frankfurt catering (FRA-JFK) Really looking forward to your report then!
For those who try this new business class on Lufthansa as their first business class flight with Lufthansa, they will be in for a nasty surprise when they get to fly on their old business class product! My guess is that by the time Lufthansa finishes upgrading their long haul fleet to a new business class product, all the competitors will have already upgraded to even newer and better products!
You‘re right, virtually every aircraft in Lufthansa‘s fleet is equipped with the older Business Class product, the new business class is currently only being operated on flights between Munich and Canada.
Yea Lufthansa is dead last in upgrading their business class. This ‘new’ product doesn’t have an enclosed suite like nearly all its competitors and Star Alliance members.

I'm flying Charlotte to Munich 6/20/23, my first business class trip and getting ready to make my reservations. I prefer a window seat. The Lufthansa website is showing 2 different configurations - one is for 30 seats and one is for 48 (2-2-2). Is the 30 seat replacing the 48 seat? If so, any guess on the completion timeline? I don't want to reserve a window seat if I have to disturb somebody next to me (2-2-2 configuration).
Well, only a few A350s are equipped with the 30-seats-config (ex-PAL). The‘re predominantly operated to Canada and India. Current A350s though, will not get this specific configuration, but the real new business class instead. I don‘t think that the configuration of the new business class is already certain, but it‘s going to be introduced in (I think summer of) 2023, so you will probably not be affected. Thus, I assume that you will definitely get the old 2-2-2 config, at least from what I can tell right now. Have a safe trip! :)

Hey, I‘m sorry to hear that. You can see the bed mode at 7:25. Bedding depends one the flight time, on flights shorter than about 10h (such as my flight) you don‘t get an extra padding.
Super video! My wife and I will be flying on one of these birds from MUC to YYZ in September and I've been waiting for a video on this. I also think you''re the first to post a video with one of the ex-Philippines A350s, so congratulations! Couple of questions. Did the plane have individual air vents above each seat (I find LH flights can be hot!)? And did the plane have external cameras (not so important if you're next to a window, but great if you're sat in the middle!)?
Hey David, thank you very much indeed! Unfortunately, there are no individual air vents, at least I can‘t remember having seen any. There are no overhead compartments in the middle of the business class cabin, so you won‘t find air vents there anyway. Furthermore, I‘m not sure about external cameras since I did not use the IFE for anything else than for the inflight map. You could possibly find that out by watching a review about Philippine Airlines A350 Business Class though. I hope that was helpful. 😉

Der Sitz alleine ist zwar schön, aber ohne gute Crew bringt einem das dann auch nur bedingt etwas. Haha, gute Frage eigentlich 😂 Leider gab es kein Schnitzel zum Spargel, das hätte die Sache natürlich noch viel besser gemacht! Der Spargel war aber tatsächlich sehr und gut und aus meiner Sicht definitiv die beste Wahl auf dem Flug.

I just flew the new a350 business class from CLT to MUC. 1-2-1 configuration. It was hands down the worst business class seat I have ever flown in. Very clostraphobic and hard as a rock seat. Food was not good, wine selection was very good. Got no sleep and arrived tired. Even so, much better than flying econ. I have flown almost all of the business class products out there, this is the absolute worst. I thought United airlines 10 years ago was better. Yikes

Looks super “standard”’and not special at all. Many European airlines have been flying similar products for years. Some have even gone beyond this basic design and have innovated with fantastically cool seating solutions (like Finnair, in my opinion, one of the best business class products out there)… Also, compared to Singapore Airlines, ANA, or Qatar Airways this looks like a subpar business class.

I think this is prev owned by Philippine airlines. They already return it to lufthansa
I didn‘t know that PAL did already operate those aircrafts, but that makes sense since this Airbus is already about three years old.

Everything looks so poor on Lufthansa Business Class. The Top-Airlines are miles ahead of them, wheter in service or design.
