For some context about the game's title, the "story" is that youre a lone pilot trying to stop some organization from starting a third world war through using nuclear weapons (I'm guessing those two giant missiles at the end are supposed to be nukes). So the "destiny" you are at war against is the end of mankind, by it's own hand. Which is an overly poetic way of saying it, but there you go. :P
@@Jcritics perhaps this is set in an alternative 1946. Where WW2 Did actually ended. But then this evil organization had rosen up from the ashes of the imperial japan and the thrid reich, Threating the world with nuclear strikes in order to try a world domination from the death of mankind. And the United nations had sent this lone pilot to find them and put an end to this organization. That's why they're using some weapons that looked familiar. Those are actually rebuilted and functional copies of WW2 secret weapons that never saw use or were deployed too late in the war.
I love how this game includes several crazy real aircraft concepts from the 2nd half of XX century: backwards propeller fighter, double-tailed planes, Rotodyne, Soviet double-engined superhelicopter, Flying Pancake The only things missing are Ekranoplan and French cylindrical-winged Coleocopter
Man, the ending music was so mesmerizing. I love finding all these games and playing them. Yeah you don't use actual coins in arcade emulators but hey it's still fun. I wish my country had arcades :/
Aside from the impressive dodging skills, what I love the most in these games (along with 1945 series and Raiden) is the DESIGN OF ENEMY WAR MACHINES. Hell, when I was a kid i thought those big ass machines did exist some time haha. This sure brings back my childhood creative fantasies.
It still takes skill to do these things. People seem to think that TASers just say "Save state! Load State! Record!" and then upload the video. No, it takes a long time and patience to make these videos. Regardless, the point stands, these are videos designed to show off the game rather than show off the player's skill.
They usually load from a level and then save it when they are satisifed with that level. Same goes to other levels. But yes, it takes skills to get good at each level and game and make videos like this.
The soundtrack makes this game seem like the "Cow-Boy Bee Bop" of shooters. There is so much class in there. Stages and bosses transitions are smooth and provide dynamic. Also the music team is on top, many synths arrangements sound close to Powered Gear soundtrack. They might be the same people.
I remember that my bowling alley used to have this machine, and I thought like this was like a WWII themed Raiden, even though I didn't notice it was part of Capcom's 1942 franchise
masterpiece of capcom, base line in soundtrack amazing played one day all in my break time in a shopping, Playland in Arcade , one credit 40 minutes to play almost lost that job
This shmup is awesome.. id put this up there (along with 1943) next to the Raiden and Dodonpachi series... not to mention next to Armed Police Batrider and Strikers as well.
*Whistles That is an impressive dodging skills, I salute you :) Some people said about you not using charged shots, but I'm actually happy because you give the bosses a 'fighting chance', thus we can see all their attack patterns (Something I love to observe). Oh, and may I ask why you seem to prefer the laser so much? Or it's actually an unintended pickup?
Argumenter_Respecter The Laser is actually the strongest power up, and you're right about the bombs, i even prefer to not use them at all and shoot down the bosses instead
Why you didn't use the charge shots? At least you nearly complete the game without them (but with 24 of 30 rank and a little mid accuracy). Good longplay by the way.
It sucks that 19XX: The War Against Destiny never made it to Capcom Classics Collection for no reason and it's still a badass game that needs to be rereleased for the home consoles later in the future. I'm about to go blame Capcom in order for them to release the 19XX arcade bundle pack but that's really up to them to decide
I defeated the first boss in 8 seconds... getting an "S" rank and over 300K points, on the Dec. 7, 1995 U.S. ROMs. Right after you shoot the parachutes at 1:56, hold down the missle button and charge it (special missle), use a couple bombs. It'll take a few attempts and isn't entirely easy. The special missle is useful, trust me!
I prefer mosquito with three way powered, get close to those enemy and give a bunch of rapid shots(with charge missiles),that is better if you try to get S rank.
jimmyjackz This is unrelated but where can I find the emulator and rom for Aliens Extermination Arcade? I love that game but hardly ever get to play it.
I recently played this all the way through. God talk about a game that would eat quarters lol I played it for free it was really fun. Will definitely play all the way through again.
Part of the fun in playing shooters like these, is the upgrade in weapons. Like Sagaia, but getting 2 power ups and being maxed, is kinda disappointing. Still well played.
Save states in the final run to be uploaded? I agree, that isn't praise worthy, but using saves to practice various segments later in the game so you can get to the point of breezing through on one life is important. You don't want to restart and have to burn yourself out going through what you've already mastered multiple times just to get to a difficult point only to die again and restart the entire game. That's tedious. :c
19XX The War Against Destiny is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING with Spectacular graphics And STUNNING gameplay this is one AMAZING arcade game from capcom A classics shoot em up with attitude 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
The space station looks like from 1945 Air Force it appears in 281-290 294-297-300 314-317-320 them 3 appear in space station space invaders and UFO 19:45
thinking about it this is more or less the Street Fighter Alpha of Capcom shmups, the next few shmups were around the Dreamcast era and mostly collaborations with other developers, but this was developed around what I personally consider the golden age of Capcom fighting games. In fact now that I think about it, this is the last directly developed Capcom shmup released, so in a sense I guess this is a swansong of some kind. Fucking class game though. Capcom style, aesthetics and presentation were at their peak around this era.
I just don’t like it, I really love it because I’ve just played this arcade game last night on an app that’s on my PlayStation 4 Consol because I really like the play the invincibility of the option that they have on here which will allow me to pass through the entire game level and I really like this game because it’s very cool even though I haven’t played it when it was doing outback then then

i never noticed how lovely the soundtrack is
I've been skimming through every game on this channel, and the music of this game immediately stood out to me at every skim.

19XX: THE WAR AGAINST DESTINY. Officially confirmed as the manliest video game title ever.
not really dude , you are missing MAJOR Japanese Shumps....
Wow
It hasn't been confirmed, you jackass !!!!!
i feel that this game has darker storyline than 1944
Man, the ending music was so mesmerizing. I love finding all these games and playing them. Yeah you don't use actual coins in arcade emulators but hey it's still fun. I wish my country had arcades :/
The sprite work and soundtrack is gorgeous. Put so many coins into this bad boy back in the day!
$10 Dollars worth of quarters
P38 lightning. My favourite plane.
no matter how many times i come to see this again...I'll never get tired of Raimei's theme song.
Great video. It's base most details of World war 2. I'm glad it's a great 1996 shooter.
This game rocks.
I feel like this was a walk in the park for Schlauchi.
Great longplay and impressive dodging skills. Why didn't you use the charge shot? It's so integral to this game and half the fun!
to give the enemy a chance to fight
Wait a minute! Did he learn the same movements from Final Boss Games when he played this game!? No wonder he's good at this game!!!
Grantz is such a cool vehicle!
19XX storyline is way more violent than Strikers 1945.
Instead of fighting aliens, is a war between humans

I'm excited this is gonna be on Switch through Capcom Arcade Stadium.

Yo they both use Q-sound chips, so like they should sound similar. And yes, I agree, this game rocks. I should totally remake this
Ya that dodging is crazy..
0:01 I just love the Virtual Audio sound opening
I remember that my bowling alley used to have this machine, and I thought like this was like a WWII themed Raiden, even though I didn't notice it was part of Capcom's 1942 franchise
This is the Hardest Shootem up game when I was kid and playing arcade
Mine was Raiden
masterpiece of capcom, base line in soundtrack amazing
played one day all in my break time in a shopping, Playland in Arcade , one credit 40 minutes to play
almost lost that job
The best arcade aircraft game !!
sounds at 0:27 like mega buster from megaman 8 (both games are from capcom)
How much in Japanese yen in real life would be used to make the first boss in this game for the JASDF?
That's nothing compared to the cost of building the OuterLimits.
This shmup is awesome.. id put this up there (along with 1943) next to the Raiden and Dodonpachi series... not to mention next to Armed Police Batrider and Strikers as well.
Capcom didn't make many shooters I loved. There was Varth, Loop Master, and this.
This game is amazing.
Capcom didn't make loop master. They published it but did not develop the game. Raizing made Loop Master.
*Whistles

laser does more damage and save time
This game should be made into a movie! Who's gonna play the fighter pilot?
Tom Cruise would be great
Either Michael Fassbender, Will Smith, Keanu Reeves or Ewan McGregor. Those are my choices.
Another white person
What does "Raimei" mean in English? Rai means thunder, but what does the 'mei' part translate as?
+VectorOmega Clap of thunder
Thanks/arigato!
The theme of raimei is the best
The lateral scrolling is nauseating, if only the visible area were wider.
12:00 the song sounds like The Imperial March
holy shit that 23:06 boss the mega train with minigun! freaking much tough
It’s name is Sancho Pedro , you know that?
So, the mid air nuclear explosion gave place to an EMP?
This sure gave Strikers 1945 a run for it's money. 8ighting and Raizing step up their game after this was released.
Why you didn't use the charge shots? At least you nearly complete the game without them (but with 24 of 30 rank and a little mid accuracy). Good longplay by the way.

please, this games is fire and capcom knows this. This game will never be part of a collection.
@@hellotheir1427 well capcom just announced a new collection of their arcade games, Capcom Arcade Stadium, and this game is gonna be included
Even worse is the fact that it NEVER got a home port on the Sega Saturn at all.
The reason why Capcom never included it in their collections up until recently is because it was too new to include
@@hellotheir1427 This comment hasn't aged well.

Michael Pierce download a mame emulator and then go to Rome hustler or emu paradise ur sure to find the rom there.
you should definitely play 1944 the loop warrior
I'll check it out.
I recently played this all the way through. God talk about a game that would eat quarters lol I played it for free it was really fun. Will definitely play all the way through again.
The 3rd boss is uninspired one. The 4th is easier than previous bosses.
ine beat it 20 times on our arcade in our house
Never use the charge shot ???? Why ?!?! It's very powerfull and you can destroy more quickly some Bosses and enemy.
Part of the fun in playing shooters like these, is the upgrade in weapons.
Like Sagaia, but getting 2 power ups and being maxed, is kinda disappointing.
Still well played.

Idk why it says game over even when u beat game same with alien vs predator
Because it's over?
Almost all games are like that even when you beat the game. Perhaps because the player has reached the end of the entire game system? 😅
