They use Dawn dish detergent to clean it. It's their "dirty" little secret.

This was the train that a ladies book club tried to ride but got kicked off of for being too loud and talkative.
The old engines were built in the 1960s for Canadian National Railways.

CBS: You did a poor job on explaining anything about this train’s true emissions. What makes it “green”? Just that it is a modern diesel engine burning low sulphur containing fuel which is required on US roadways? Also, was the engine burning petroleum based diesel? Perhaps an opportunity to burn bio-diesel would actually make it green. The claim of zero emissions is most likely for particulate. For those keeping score, it has to emit carbon dioxide. (I’m not too worried about the Carbon Dioxide (CO-2) but climate change folks sure are!)

:( They are getting rid of the ALCOS they should save one;.

I wonder if the Alcos could have been overhauled to meet environmental standards. They're certainly a better match for the style and era of the cars. I think the 1950s vibe has been a major draw for the train.

I thought diesel was one of the sinners among man-made pollutants? Truckers and farmers will be glad to know they are now greener than green instead of a major cause of climate change and earth decimation.

No mention of what makes it green? What a nothing news item. No mention of its energy source.

Sincerely appreciate the effort, but you're a raindrop in a really big ocean. We're doomed....within a hundred years.

If you get enough raindrops it's surprising how fast they add up. I and many of our neighbors have changed how we had been farming over the years by using different technologies to reduce waste, reduce fuel consumption fuel, and use less chemicals. Not only to create less polution but to try to save money also.

      You have to start somewhere.

Problem is half+ of the people on this planet only care about one thing...surviving the day. They've got no time to worry about pollution or climate change, so they don't. Unless the world drastically changes, your farming efforts will have little effect. Thanx for trying.

Thank god for making sure the air is clean in Napa Lets spend money instead of helping the people who need it great story CBS & next you will be BOOTLICKING donny the FELON

I believe a business can spend its money on whatever it wants. Businesses spend money to improve themselves, why should they spend it on individuals having hard times? Everyone needs money in this type of society. Its the governments responsibility, not a business to take care of you (you, of course, are not responsible for your own well-being). Besides that, it's wine country, so maybe the people who need money don't live anywhere near Napa.
