I’d never heard of CommaVid nor of their games until last year. So far, I’ve only played Room of Doom, Cosmic Swarm, and Mines of Minos. CommaVid made fun and unique games. If ever there were hidden gems for the 2600, their games deserve mention.

Huh, cool. The programmer(s?) obviously put a lot of thought into the accessibility of the game, which I really admire. That and it looks fun, like the best of Berzerk, Robotron, and Yar's Revenge all rolled up into one.

I subscribed to Videogaming Illustrated back when this stuff was new, and I only ever saw this game in the magazine. It was reviewed. The gameplay if I recall correctly got a good review but the graphics were hit pretty hard. I never saw any Commavid games in the stores I frequented. Activision - yes, Imagic - yes, Apollo - yes, Spectravideo - yes, Commavid - no. Maybe they had a distribution issue back then.

Gotta love the 64 variations for replay ability. Nintendo kept it simple, and went with an extended version of an ideal setting 🤔
