You are exactly right about Zak George. My father in law trained K9's for the police, prisons and families. I'm addicted to your videos because he did almost exactly what I see you do. He taught me a lot and I loved it. I now own 2 Cane Corsos and they are well behaved, well socialized and I trained them by yours and his methods. I'm a female. 5'6 and 120 pounds and I have complete control over my dogs. I'd like to see George Zak do that and I'm not a dog trainer.

I like your videos and I work with my Dutchie every day in search and rescue including bite work and I could take my girl anywhere off leash and I use some German commands being said she's my family protection dog and I'm not a professional trainer I work with my dog because that's what she likes and looks forward to and she's a good dog and I've taken many bites and I would rather get bit than shot!
I know people like Zak. I live in Berlin, Germany. Every day, I get stupid comments from these kinds of people because my dogs have to work and must be obedient. Ironically, they're also the first ones to complain when my dogs don't behave well. An old man once said that my dogs should be shot if they can't be touched by strangers. This is the same person who criticized me for being too harsh on them.
Nobody is ever allowed to touch my dog in public! The only time she interacts with anyone is if they at the least have a dog with them and understand the correct etiquette! She is ever so slightly driven and ever so slightly antisocial with people who don't have dogs! It's like she thinks that if they have a dog they must be ok! Lol

Yes, his or more so his partners small mix breed dog Veronica can't seem to be off leash at all and his Border Collie seems to only be able to be off leash in remote quiet areas with no real distractions. I also dont think either are very social with other people or other animals either😂.

In one of Victoria Stillwells videos she praises how well trained a protection dog was - wearing a pinch collar which she is supposed to be against - while merrily pedalling her own brand of front pull harnesses which have caused many more i juries and problems than pinch collars. Why should You risk a dog's live with walking off leash at a town ? Would You let Your toddler walk uncontrolled at town ? A GSD can walk without leash at town , I walked my foster GSD without leash and collar in a big crowded city , but that is limited to these dog breeds . Other can't see cars , they are bred for other purposes . Doing "challenges" to pretend to be better than others is infantile and sick !
i don't like to bad mouth trainers but i will bad mouth unethical and fraudulent as well as hack trainers, Zack George is a hack and a fraud, very nontransparent trainer, not to say that police agencies aren't ethical in their training, some not all can be heavy handed and even sometimes abusive in training. However, i think it's hilarious that Zack grew a beard to make him appear more masculine.... lol (disclaimer i like Haz as a person i think he's a bit egotistical but i realize he has different methods than i do, but I'm one of those people that has take aways from all trainers and customize my methods to fit the needs of a client, I've seen stuff that works for some dogs and not so much for others. So, Zak George was my first introduction to online dog trainers when I first got my Service Dog. I realized quickly though, that other than useless tricks, he's not even good at training his own dogs. My dog is better behaved. Unfortunately, I ended up going through a positive-only course with my dog, I've since purchased a bundle from Haz and will be updating his training. Time and plenty of research has shown me who to follow, and who's just in it for fame, and not really a dog trainer.
My neighbor got a beautiful red and black GSD and did nothing but lock him in a filthy pen. Predictably, he escaped when he could. He bit a 6 year old child pretty seriously and also attacked my service dog in my yard, but left when I went after him with a walking stick. They later adopted 3 more dogs to shove in the same pen. Until someone posted their living situation in a video on Facebook-and called the police. Now they are locked in the house, when I walk by I hear them barking. Working dogs need a job!
I started my under 4-month-old boxer puppy with Zak's methods and it worked really well for him as he was eager for treats and to learn. After 4 months though, that training no longer worked and he needed much more guidance, so I switched over to ASK9 videos and Shield K9 along with in-person lessons from trainers with similar approaches as these guys. He is doing amazing "best in the class" one trainer encouraged. Very happy with the results I'm seeing.
The irony of the first part of you comment is that those "zak's methods" are basically methods that EVERY reasonable trainer STARTS with. It's a well known fact in the dog training world that you ALWAYS start with positive reinforcement in teaching dogs commands and desirable behaviors. It isn't unique to positive only trainers except that positive only trainers use ONLY that method and therefore become ineffective with tougher dogs. I'm so glad you didn't allow yourself to be blinded by zak's narrative and that you chose to give your boxer what he actually needed.
Zak's 'method' does not go beyond the very basic puppy training, and that's the whole problem with his videos. But he claims he has worked with 'reactive dogs', so.....
I am sure the boxer of Rocky Kanaka has never been trained the way that You trained Your Boxer . I think there was never and will never be a better behaved dog than the Boxer and the Cane Corso of Rocky Kanaka WITHOUT these dominance training methodes !

Garret wing from American Standard K9 analysed the clip of the police dog taking down the suspect on his podcast. From memory the suspect had an extensive criminal history, resisted arrest, and was running through civilians’ backyards. I wonder if ZG would advocate for gentle parenting/positive reinforcement for the suspect too

Remember these are uncooperative "suspected" criminals. Very few "random" civilian bites happen, yes, dogs are not perfect, nor are humans. There are a few accidents every year, either from dog or handler error. But lets compare those extremely rare bites with how many successful apprehensions they aid in and how many dangerous and armed criminals they find. :(
Trying to argue with positive only trainers like Zak is like trying to argue with people who want to ban guns. He's the equivalent of someone who tries to tell you there's an epidemic of people being killed by "assault rifles", when every year without fail, more people have been killed by completely unarmed individuals than rifles and shotguns combined. Or an epidemic of guns in general being used to kill people, despite that only 0.00003466% of all 300+ million guns in the U.S. are ever used that way, while 0.0083% (or 239x as many) are used to prevent crime. Or someone who tries to argue about how the only thing a gun can ever be used for is to murder 11,000 people per year in the U.S., but either fails to educate themselves or conveniently dishonestly leaves out the fact that 400,000+ life threatening crimes specifically are prevented per year using guns, never mind all the other petty crimes that are prevented. Or how 60% of felons admitted to avoiding committing a crime if they knew their victim was armed, and 40% avoided committing a crime if they thought their victim MIGHT be armed. Or how in basically every case of increased gun ownership by law abiding citizens, or even the suggestion that law abiding citizens were LIKELY to be armed, violent crime in those areas plummeted drastically in contrast with higher gun ownership, while violent crime in other nearby areas remained unaffected or rose in inverse to lower legalized gun ownership. Or tries to claim that mass killings will stop if you just get rid of guns, as if we can't point to countries like China where they have mass stabbings with higher body counts on average than most mass shootings (any incident with 4 or more deaths, by legal definition). He's the type of guy that even if you gave him equivalent statistics involving, quote un quote, "attack dogs", he'd willfully ignore it because it doesn't fit his narrative. He's done so plenty of times before because he doesn't give a damn about facts. Its all about agendas with him. Why anyone takes Quack George seriously is beyond me.
David Mech done a podcast with Ivan Balabov about the 'dominance' issue, the problem was that within that original study, they shoved a bunch of unrelated wolves into a confined setting where they did fight for hierarchy, wolves in the wild will kill those those are not from their own pack, youngsters wander off and create their own pack with an unrelated mate from another pack. However, wolves naturally live in families, and the dominant pair are the parents, just as in most households. Dominance doesn't always mean violence, For example, my late collie x spaniel had my ex's staff x lab terrified to eat or drink without ever touching him; dominance is a state of presence and leadership.

Haz, your a savage. Your videos have helped me train my working GSD to a level that could have never been achieved if I bought into the non sense people like George spew out. I live in a busy suburb and my dog is the most free dog there, off leash walking whenever, wherever, with recalls usually never needing anything other than my voice. Keep that working dog training spirit alive!
Zak is a weirdo who doesn't have the ability to train working dogs. We all subscribe to our preferred training methods, but ZG is trying to ruin people's lives. Dog Daddy has gone off the deep end making up stories about finding black GSDs in the back of Ubers, but what ZG did to him was relentless and evil. ZG is a great ambassador for dogs who have training goals of loose leash walking and staying off the furniture.
Not really. I followed Zack George when I first got my dog. His basic training with 8 week puppies isn't terrible but it also ISN'T "revolutionary" at all. There are better trainers who came before him, sure who used more balanced methods, but always were more compassionate and empathetic about being a good leader and companion to your dog. The Monks of New Skete were doing that work in the 70s. And obviously there's Cesar Milan. Zack George's only claim to fame is that he uses no aversives at all, which is so unnatural and clearly doesn't work, EVEN for relatively friendly and eager to learn dogs, ie his own dog.

If your dogs were being abused in any way shape or form during their training … they would not be so excited to work out … they would be sullen, withdrawn overly aggressive and reactive. For example, Kevin was a perfect example of a dog who wasn’t properly socialized and/or trained. He had a second lease on life thanks to your training methods. Unfortunately, what I have noticed some trainers have no experience of being a REAL dog Parent of a REAL dog. They have no idea what a trust based loving relationship is with these dogs. They don't have much experience and invested time with their own working line dogs (pet companions) to see the real power and potential of these dogs with the correct balanced training methodology and approach .... And it is so sad, painful and problematic.......
The best part about Haz's challenge is that it doesn't even involve rehabilitating a truly aggressive dog. It's just about obedience and the dogs' desire to please their human

I think it's extremely interesting that he really seemed to avoid or skip over footage of the dog's obedience training when speaking of bite sports. He stuck strictly to footage of dogs being sent/protection phases it appears?
Positive only dog training leaves no way to correct/eliminate negative behavior. My white GSD is off leash trained with the e-collar and is well behaved and socialized.
Today's bite sports has as much to do with Nazi Germany as Huge Boss has today. I've been following Zak George for almost 2 decades now, and have had moments when I don't agree with him and question his training methods, but this latest band wagon really does not sit well with me. He's put together a few clips he's found somewhere, but refused a chat with other dog trainers who actually do bite work, and will not talk with police dog trainers. His clips show a huge problem within the (US) police, which is not necessarily a dog problem. But hey, it gets him attention, and requires him to do no dog training videos himself.... (Not that he's done many other than yet another potty training video.....)
Police dogs do such a wonderful service in helping police protect the community. to me police dogs are police officers with four legs. Robert Cabral said once dogs trained in these sports are much safer than the average untrained family pet. I can believe it.
Proven fact: people as a whole, are far more afraid of a dog than they are of a gun! And when it comes to your own personal and home protection when you combine your well trained guard dog with a resolute, determined gun owner for the purposes of personal and home safety and security there are far fewer people with criminal intent willing to face off with your well trained guard dog backed up with your well trained and resolute determined intent to protect yourself and your home!!
Great vid, love the content. On Zak mentioning that schutzhund was developed in pre Nazi Germany, I think your bias might be showing in taking issue with that. I interpreted the comment as a historical fact relevant to the topic at hand, since it's already been noted that this is a video about police/military/protection dogs and Germany does have some very relevant military history lol. Knowing what we know about the Nazis, the history of schutzhund might have looked a little different had the Nazis been the ones to develop the sport. Good example of this historical significance are Jagds. Theyre as tightly bred as they are, or were at one point, because of the Nazis obsession with eugenics. And I'm not saying dog breeding is wrong, or that isn't doesn't share similarities with eugenics, just stating that these are relevant pieces of information to the breeds and their intended purposes. Definitely agree that a dog deployed is more ideal than shooting someone. I don't understand leftists who argue against police use of dogs. I'm a black guy, if I meet a crazy cop who wants to hurt me Id much rather it be a dog than a bullet lol. And even if the deployment is justified, it's still better for a suspect to be apprehended by a dog and get to live than just be shot dead because they had no other option. He and I had a little run in about E and prong collars. I rescued an abandoned Rotty a few years back. She had fear aggression, lunged at everyone, and pulled like a sled dog on leash. But has never destroyed anything or pee'd on the carpet, hehe. Now I walk her off leash with an e-collar while I train my new free section CL Rotty. Mr. George had absolutely nothing to offer to help me to correct anything. He's got his leftist vilify agenda. When I was looking for solid techniques to help my first Rotty. I had faith in her. But to be honest, she was kicking my butt at first, hehe. Thankfully I found the good guys on YT and all is well. No thanks to Zak George.

I saw a video of the scene where police were afraid of a suspect (that wasn't charged with any crime) so they sent the dog to attach him and bring him to the ground. The guy naturally fought off the dog and they shot the guy with at least 30 rounds for "resisting' a dog attack. They murdered him and be was not a threat to anyone. Another one where they woke up a homeless vet in a parking lot and the vet was understably upset and didn't want to obey their unlawful orders so they unleashed the dog on him and he tried to defend himself with a tennis racket. The cops held him down while another pulled his arm up to keep the tennis racket in the air while the made sport of the dog making minced meat out of a man that served this country. Another incident where a man told the cop that the dog was a pusilanimous and the cop's ego was bruised so he ordered the man to be arrested and while he was detained, the handler let his dog tear his flesh. There is MAJOR systemic problems wth the blue line gang, worldwide (by design) and the use of dogs as wespons and as search warrants needs to stop, period. But that's not what Zack cares about. Zack is trying to raise money.

When I first discovered Zak some years ago, I thought he was a great trainer. And the thing is, he is...if all you're looking for is trick training and basic obedience, and assuming your dog has no behavioural problems. Fast forward to his series where he took troubled dogs into his home in order to retrain them and adopt them out. It was then that I saw he truly has no clue how to deal with dogs that have genuine behaviour problems and need rehabilitation. He wasn't able to properly fix any of them. One was moderately improved and others were only slightly improved after 6 weeks of daily training. One GSD showed almost no improvement. Then seeing that video where he took his collie into a dog park and it snapped at another dog was crazy! It was clear as day to anyone with the most basic knowledge of body language that the dog was completely overwhelmed and things were going badly but he couldn't see it. After that I gave up on him. My UA-cam trainer of choice is Joel Beckman. Phenomenal trainer and gets results quickly, even with very difficult dogs. If I ever need tips on training tricks, I'll go back to Zaks videos. Maybe.
I’m as left as they come but I can see his virtue signal grifting from a mile away. It’s ridiculous. There is a lot that can be said about the misuse of force by law enforcement in general, and of course that extends to their dogs. But the issue isn't the dogs themselves. Saying bite sports promote aggression and violence is the same as saying martial arts is promoting violence. Some things are just sport. Zak is way out of his lane in many ways with this video. I also do think it is unfair to assume a person's dog training philosophy to their politics. He is a grifter who understands his audience very well, but there are leftists who do not agree with him, and I don't see the benefit in polarizing and politicizing the topic even more than it already has been. There may be left-leaning people who are new to the space, dabbling in dog training who may hear something like this and assume this sort of training won't align with their general beliefs, and that could steer them away. As you said, we can and should be critical of the use of governmental force on citizens! But that is a topic for political influencers to debate on. What Zak George is doing is essentially rage bait at this point.

You are exactly right about Zak George. My father in law trained K9's for the police, prisons and families. I'm addicted to your videos because he did almost exactly what I see you do. He taught me a lot and I loved it. I now own 2 Cane Corsos and they are well behaved, well socialized and I trained them by yours and his methods. I'm a female. 5'6 and 120 pounds and I have complete control over my dogs. I'd like to see George Zak do that and I'm not a dog trainer.

I like your videos and I work with my Dutchie every day in search and rescue including bite work and I could take my girl anywhere off leash and I use some German commands being said she's my family protection dog and I'm not a professional trainer I work with my dog because that's what she likes and looks forward to and she's a good dog and I've taken many bites and I would rather get bit than shot!

Yes, his or more so his partners small mix breed dog Veronica can't seem to be off leash at all and his Border Collie seems to only be able to be off leash in remote quiet areas with no real distractions. I also dont think either are very social with other people or other animals either😂.

A GSD can walk without leash at town , I walked my foster GSD without leash and collar in a big crowded city , but that is limited to these dog breeds . ZAK DOESNT TRAIN DOGS HE SCAMS PEOPLE
So, Zak George was my first introduction to online dog trainers when I first got my Service Dog. I realized quickly though, that other than useless tricks, he's not even good at training his own dogs. My dog is better behaved. Unfortunately, I ended up going through a positive-only course with my dog, I've since purchased a bundle from Haz and will be updating his training. Time and plenty of research has shown me who to follow, and who's just in it for fame, and not really a dog trainer.
My neighbor got a beautiful red and black GSD and did nothing but lock him in a filthy pen. Predictably, he escaped when he could.
He bit a 6 year old child pretty seriously and also attacked my service dog in my yard, but left when I went after him with a walking stick.
They later adopted 3 more dogs to shove in the same pen. Until someone posted their living situation in a video on Facebook-and called the police. Now they are locked in the house, when I walk by I hear them barking. Working dogs need a job!
People ought to have a license to have children or animals. tds like that probably don’t have a driver’s license either.
As a LEO I will share that our dogs only get deployed when there is probable cause for an arrest on a Felony charge.

I started my under 4-month-old boxer puppy with Zak's methods and it worked really well for him as he was eager for treats and to learn. After 4 months though, that training no longer worked and he needed much more guidance, so I switched over to ASK9 videos and Shield K9 along with in-person lessons from trainers with similar approaches as these guys. He is doing amazing "best in the class" one trainer encouraged. Very happy with the results I'm seeing.
The irony of the first part of you comment is that those "zak's methods" are basically methods that EVERY reasonable trainer STARTS with. It's a well known fact in the dog training world that you ALWAYS start with positive reinforcement in teaching dogs commands and desirable behaviors. It isn't unique to positive only trainers except that positive only trainers use ONLY that method and therefore become ineffective with tougher dogs.
I'm so glad you didn't allow yourself to be blinded by zak's narrative and that you chose to give your boxer what he actually needed.
Zak's 'method' does not go beyond the very basic puppy training, and that's the whole problem with his videos. But he claims he has worked with 'reactive dogs', so.....
I am sure the boxer of Rocky Kanaka has never been trained the way that You trained Your Boxer . I think there was never and will never be a better behaved dog than the Boxer and the Cane Corso of Rocky Kanaka WITHOUT these dominance training methodes !

Remember these are uncooperative "suspected" criminals. Very few "random" civilian bites happen, yes, dogs are not perfect, nor are humans. But lets compare those extremely rare bites with how many successful apprehensions they aid in and how many dangerous and armed criminals they find. :(

He's the equivalent of someone who tries to tell you there's an epidemic of people being killed by "assault rifles", when every year without fail, more people have been killed by completely unarmed individuals than rifles and shotguns combined.

David Mech done a podcast with Ivan Balabov about the 'dominance' issue, the problem was that within that original study, they shoved a bunch of unrelated wolves into a confined setting where they did fight for hierarchy, wolves in the wild will kill those those are not from their own pack, youngsters wander off and create their own pack with an unrelated mate from another pack. However, wolves naturally live in families, and the dominant pair are the parents, just as in most households.
Dominance doesn't always mean violence, For example, my late collie x spaniel had my ex's staff x lab terrified to eat or drink without ever touching him; dominance is a state of presence and leadership.

Not really. I followed Zack George when I first got my dog. His basic training with 8 week puppies isn't terrible but it also ISN'T "revolutionary" at all. There are better trainers who came before him, sure who used more balanced methods, but always were more compassionate and empathetic about being a good leader and companion to your dog. The Monks of New Skete were doing that work in the 70s. And obviously there's Cesar Milan. Zack George's only claim to fame is that he uses no aversives at all, which is so unnatural and clearly doesn't work, EVEN for relatively friendly and eager to learn dogs, ie his own dog.

For example, Kevin was a perfect example of a dog who wasn’t properly socialized and/or trained. He had a second lease on life thanks to your training methods. Now he’s a happy and well-socialized CO that knows what’s expected of him, manageable and no doubt has a great home. It was a complete make-over.

Unfortunately, what I have noticed some trainers have no experience of being a REAL dog Parent of a REAL dog. They have no idea what a trust based loving relationship is with these dogs. They don't have much experience and invested time with their own working line dogs (pet companions) to see the real power and potential of these dogs with the correct balanced training methodology and approach .... And it is so sad, painful and problematic.......

I've been following Zak George for almost 2 decades now, and have had moments when I don't agree with him and question his training methods, but this latest band wagon really does not sit well with me. He's put together a few clips he's found somewhere, but refused a chat with other dog trainers who actually do bite work, and will not talk with police dog trainers. His clips show a huge problem within the (US) police, which is not necessarily a dog problem. But hey, it gets him attention, and requires him to do no dog training videos himself.... (Not that he's done many other than yet another potty training video.....)
Police dogs do such a wonderful service in helping police protect the community. to me police dogs are police officers with four legs. Robert Cabral said once dogs trained in these sports are much safer than the average untrained family pet. I can believe it.
Proven fact: people as a whole, are far more afraid of a dog than they are of a gun!
And when it comes to your own personal and home protection when you combine your well trained guard dog with a resolute, determined gun owner for the purposes of personal and home safety and security there are far fewer people with criminal intent willing to face off with your well trained guard dog backed up with your well trained and resolute determined intent to protect yourself and your home!!

On Zak mentioning that schutzhund was developed in pre Nazi Germany, I think your bias might be showing in taking issue with that. I interpreted the comment as a historical fact relevant to the topic at hand, since it's already been noted that this is a video about police/military/protection dogs and Germany does have some very relevant military history lol. Knowing what we know about the Nazis, the history of schutzhund might have looked a little different had the Nazis been the ones to develop the sport.
Good example of this historical significance are Jagds. Theyre as tightly bred as they are, or were at one point, because of the Nazis obsession with eugenics. And I'm not saying dog breeding is wrong, or that isn't doesn't share similarities with eugenics, just stating that these are relevant pieces of information to the breeds and their intended purposes.
Definitely agree that a dog deployed is more ideal than shooting someone. I don't understand leftists who argue against police use of dogs. I'm a black guy, if I meet a crazy cop who wants to hurt me Id much rather it be a dog than a bullet lol. And even if the deployment is justified, it's still better for a suspect to be apprehended by a dog and get to live than just be shot dead because they had no other option. And yeah, the dog may get hurt, but that's a job hazard. These dogs are tools and thrive as tools.
I'll be honest tho, as someone who is more left leaning than a lot of people in the K9 world, I love your political rants lol. I appreciate people who don't censor themselves. And I hate Zak, he uses my existence as a black American as a force free talking point and it's disgusting.

He and I had a little run in about E and prong collars. I rescued an abandoned Rotty a few years back. She had fear aggression, lunged at everyone, and pulled like a sled dog on leash. But has never destroyed anything or pee'd on the carpet, hehe. Now I walk her off leash with an e-collar while I train my new free section CL Rotty. Mr. George had absolutely nothing to offer to help me to correct anything. He's got his leftist vilify agenda. When I was looking for solid techniques to help my first Rotty. I had faith in her. But to be honest, she was kicking my butt at first, hehe. Thankfully I found the good guys on YT and all is well. No thanks to Zak George.

Last I saw he had "3.7M subscribers " which does not make sense because the view counts, likes and comments do not add up.

And you can tell that after the cov1d rush, his viewership fell off because he couldn't actually help dog owners. He could help you teach a dog to sit, but couldn't help with a reactive dog... Look up his German Shepherd mix he had a couple years ago. He filtered and edited that content like crazy. Looks at that dogs body language. Zac didn't train that dog.
I saw a video of the scene where police were afraid of a suspect (that wasn't charged with any crime) so they sent the dog to attach him and bring him to the ground. The guy naturally fought off the dog and they shot the guy with at least 30 rounds for "resisting' a dog attack. They murdered him and be was not a threat to anyone.
Another one where they woke up a homeless vet in a parking lot and the vet was understably upset and didn't want to obey their unlawful orders so they unleashed the dog on him and he tried to defend himself with a tennis racket. The cops held him down while another pulled his arm up to keep the tennis racket in the air while the made sport of the dog making minced meat out of a man that served this country.
Another incident where a man told the cop that the dog was a pusilanimous and the cop's ego was bruised so he ordered the man to be arrested and while he was detained, the handler let his dog tear his flesh.
There is MAJOR systemic problems wth the blue line gang, worldwide (by design) and the use of dogs as wespons and as search warrants needs to stop, period.

i just want it known that some people like myself, a left leaning millennial, train in much the same way Haz does for a living, just not to the same standard. the methods i use have nothing to do with my political viewpoint. i feel like one would be forgiven for thinking, after watching Zaks video, that if you do bite work training you're feeding into systemic racism. hes trying to make that case, lots of gullible people will buy that. its bullshit, of course. that said, i respect Haz and his undoubted experience w/ dogs and dog sports. what i hope is that he doesn't equate ones dog training methods with a political ideology. hes (George) an ideologue for sure, but to assume his political leanings based solely on his training methods is silly, straight up. politics shouldn't be this pervasive, but it is what it is. i don't fault Haz for calling him "woke" (btw kids, stop using this word, in ANY context), i just wish there was more objectivity from someone whose ideas i respect and training methods i espouse. just my 2 cents, the content of dog training videos doesnt need to be peppered with political ideology nor political insults, which is how "woke" gets used these days. its dumb. lets not be dumb.

I practice French Ring with my Belgian Groenendael. Zack is calling out abuse and aggression. I don´t think there´s any argument against this type of violence.

When I first discovered Zak some years ago, I thought he was a great trainer. And the thing is, he is...if all you're looking for is trick training and basic obedience, and assuming your dog has no behavioural problems.
Fast forward to his series where he took troubled dogs into his home in order to retrain them and adopt them out. It was then that I saw he truly has no clue how to deal with dogs that have genuine behaviour problems and need rehabilitation. He wasn't able to properly fix any of them. One was moderately improved and others were only slightly improved after 6 weeks of daily training. One GSD showed almost no improvement.
Then seeing that video where he took his collie into a dog park and it snapped at another dog was crazy! It was clear as day to anyone with the most basic knowledge of body language that the dog was completely overwhelmed and things were going badly but he couldn't see it.
After that I gave up on him. My UA-cam trainer of choice is Joel Beckman. Phenomenal trainer and gets results quickly, even with very difficult dogs.
If I ever need tips on training tricks, I'll go back to Zaks videos. Maybe.

I’m as left as they come but I can see his virtue signal grifting from a mile away. It’s ridiculous. There is a lot that can be said about the misuse of force by law enforcement in general, and of course that extends to their dogs. But the issue isn't the dogs themselves. Saying bite sports promote aggression and violence is the same as saying martial arts is promoting violence. Some things are just sport.
Zak is way out of his lane in many ways with this video. I also do think it is unfair to assume a person's dog training philosophy to their politics. He is a grifter who understands his audience very well, but there are leftists who do not agree with him, and I don't see the benefit in polarizing and politicizing the topic even more than it already has been. There may be left-leaning people who are new to the space, dabbling in dog training who may hear something like this and assume this sort of training won't align with their general beliefs, and that could steer them away.
As you said, we can and should be critical of the use of governmental force on citizens! But that is a topic for political influencers to debate on. What Zak George is doing is essentially rage bait at this point.

I am no leftie ( nor right, I am not American see... there is something in between) but I couldn't agree more. Lets not politicise the dog training world. I am disgusted by the agenda of Zac George and only a fool doesn't see that positive only does not do the job to train every type of dog. I didn't meet any well behaved dog that was trained this way.
