This video is from our time living in Arizona and our channel was known as "Arizona Dreamz". We have since moved to the Midwest . New state, new channel name! We no longer make AZ content, but now focus on family vlogs of our life in Michigan.
I'm an AZ native and Gilbert has been my favorite place to live. We moved here to raise our son. It's very safe but we need to remember to lock our doors because we've grown so used to it being safe here some don't lock up and there's been a number of break ins to cars. It still feels like a small town and the people are friendly.
Yes, people do get a little lax about locking those doors and being careful in Gilbert because of its reputation for being safe. Have to always be careful no matter where you are. But Gilbert is also a favorite of mine.
Great video! After 20 years I still keep dreaming of returning to Arizona. I like to watch your very helpful videos. Thank you.
Glad you are liking the content!
Bless you for these videos!
Moved to Gilbert in 2016 from ohio and love it. Beautiful scenery and weather!
Agreed! It's a great place and experiencing a lot of growth.
Mctig Mctiggy probably a lot to do with HOA’s. That’s the case for our area at least
Mctig Mctiggy most neighborhoods here have an HOA that is pretty strict. Rv/boat owners either have them on the side yard or hold them in storage facility’s.
Thank you for the tour. Living outside of Chicago which is home live in Atlanta for awhile don’t really want to go back. I’m drawn to Arizona don’t no why. Your videos are giving me some insight
A lot of Chicagoans seem to be looking into moving here. Glad the videos are helpful to you and thank you for watching!
Thank you for these series of videos. I’m planning a move to Gilbert/Chandler this summer. This helps tremendously
Glad that they're helpful. Best of luck on your upcoming move to AZ and thanks for watching!
Mrs Paris Lady what do you think of the area?
Mrs Paris Lady Dive you move yet? How do you like it?
Thanks you for this video! I grew up in Gilbert as a kid and and will never forget it! The Gilbert day parade was always a funday!
Glad you liked the video! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video, I'm moving to Gilbert for college, but I'm in Texas and won't be able to see it till I move, so thank you.
No problem. Glad to be able to give you a virtual tour before you get here!
Thank you for the tour of Gilbert. I will finally be visiting in june.
No problem. Hope you enjoy your visit here!
Downtown Gilbert is a nice place to walk around and grab something to eat.
Thank you for the info. I will be moving to Gilbert in the near future !
I think you’ll like Gilbert. Welcome to the Valley and thanks for watching!
The way people drive in Phoenix or Arizona in general is just so calm I love it! There’s hardly any tailgating, speeding, aggressive drivers what so ever it’s just perfect!
Unfortunately, we do have some crazy drivers. Not so bad on residential streets in some areas. But you will find them all over the freeway! lol
Arizona Dreamz Yeah you’re right. Having lived in Texas where aggressive driving happens all the time it’d be a shock being where majority actually go the speed limit and the crazy drivers are a bit more mellow compared to the wild crazy Texas drivers(usually the ones with pickup trucks lol)
Enjoyed this ! - nice how they maintained some of the original elegance of the downtown :-)
I really enjoy that downtown area! Great atmosphere!
Enjoyed your video...it's so funny because I know that place where you turned in from Val Vista:) We live in the Finley Farms subdivision. We moved here from CA 5 years ago and my husband's family are from the midwest. There's a big population of transplants from the midwest in Gilbert. We LOVE living here.
Gilbert is great! Definitely a lot of former Midwesterners making their home there. Glad you enjoyed the video and loving life in Gilbert!
Thank you for the nice videos! I’m thinking to move to Gilbert, done with the winter and humidity here. Is the job market good?
I moved to Gilbert from Los Angeles, Calif. 22 years ago. Population was 65,000 in 1995, now it's about 250,000. Nice place to live. I purposely decided to move to Gilbert, after doing thorough research. The Val Vista place community that you drove through from 1:24-3:28 was built in 1995. There is a farmers market on Saturday morning adjacent to the water tower. Joe's BBQ is great!!
Gilbert is nice. Growing like crazy and a great place to raise a family.
Ca is too big and congested. Born n raised. Moved to rio rancho nm. Love it.
Thanks for the info 👋🏼
Gilbert seems to be the best place in the USA. But if youre reading this and youre a democrat, stay away
Another Great video, thank you from Chicago. Have my home up for sale and moving to Gilbert or Chandler soon. Can’t wait😁🌵🌴
Nice! Good luck with the sale of your home and cheers to new adventures in the Valley of the Sun!
Left Chicago for Arizona 35 years ago, never looked back.
Really appreciate it! Army may be locating there in the near future, never been to AZ before. Coming from bluegrass state(Kentucky), to the no grass state should be interesting to say the least.
It is different scenery for sure! Good luck on wherever you end up!
I looking to move to Gilbert. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
6:18 did you see the creature lurking behind the car? Creepy!!! 😊 Thanks for the video! We're moving to that area and Gilbert is at the top of our list. Cool area!
Lol! I never noticed that head appearing from behind the car before! Funny! Gilbert is definitely a great place to live. Thanks for watching!
@@LivinOurDreamz lol really? Too funny.
where that Bosa Donuts is on Val vista Dr used to be where my old childhood Dr Office is

@A D, Nice vid.. Oh, 'shout out' to the camera-person. Great job!, recoding everything for Him, lol. • Another good old town feel is Gilbert. Have You eaten at Lo-Lo's Waffle & Chicken before? Recently, heard about that place. c:
My wife is gracious enough to hold the camera for me. I'll tell her about the "shout-out." lol My family is a big of Lolo's Chicken and Waffles. The kids always want to go their on their birthdays. The food is good. Appreciate you checking out my channel!
Arizona Dreamz, Yes, don't forget to tell Her, lol.. For this vid Your Wife was spot on for some shots. Love Gilbert :3
Liberty market use to actually be a market I would there when I was younger :,)
Very similar visually to new mexico. That sky is beautiful.
I’ve seen some beautiful sights in New Mexico!
Arizona Dreamz taos and santa fe are awesome. Abq and rio rancho are my favs. Keep up the vids! Njoy.
I'm going to guess the people living in AZ are much more friendly and welcoming.
arizona dreamz- do people get any land when they buy a house? let alone under 325 k? it seems like all the homes are really close together. given al the land available in phoenix metro thats odd.
What’s the city with all the man made lakes you can take a small boat out on? Thanks!
What are somethings you would advise someone moving from the New England area to Gilbert AZ be?
Ah yes nice area. But too many people moving in and the traffic is skyrocketing. Also head out to San Tan Mall and that area. Really nice.
Yes, there’s definitely a lot of growth going on.
Thanks for posting the video, on the surface it's informative far as looks of the city. I'm planning on relocating to Gilbert, that particular city interest me for two reasons my father was born and raised there and the Arizona weather will be very good for my health. I just need to look into the cost of real estate and the job market.
I will be moving to Arizona do you have any tips
Thanks for the video. We are moving to Gilbert in 5 weeks from Pennsylvania. Husband toured it this week, but I didn't get a chance to go. Is majority of the town clean and nice? Are there a lot of fun down areas?
We are moving to an apartment complex on E Civic Center Dr. Husband said it's close to downtown.
Also, I was told Mesa and Tempe have some crime and run down areas which concerns me because they're neighboring Gilbert. Is this information true?
You'll find most of Gilbert very nice and clean. There are some areas here and there that don't look as nice, but most of the city is very well kept and overall "pretty." I think you'll enjoy living close to downtown. Lots of restaurants and breweries in the Heritage District. Gilbert is considered a safe place. Now that doesn't mean you shouldn't lock your doors because every area has crime, but most of it is property crime. Mesa definitely has some sketchy areas you want to stay away from and Tempe is a college town, so the closer you get to campus, the higher the crime. But as far as I'm aware of, Gilbert hasn't been impacted too much by the crime of those places and is one of the safest areas in the Valley.
Arizona Dreamz thank you for the response back. Is the crime in Tempe related to the college crowd or is the crime gang or violent crimes? Just curious, as we may venture there for stuff to do. Ditto for Mesa. Is it drug/violent crime?
Old Mesa (central Mesa) does have drug crimes. There are violent crimes as well. I don’t have the stats on that. Mesa is a big place so you can do some research on the places that have the most crime.
In Tempe, a lot of the crime is college crowd related, such as vandalism, dui, drunken disorderly and the party stuff. Of course every place does have some violent crime and you need to look into it using the crime stats online. But I’ve been in Tempe quite a bit and taken my family there and haven’t felt unsafe.
Can you do a Buckeye tour
Hi just wanted to know is Gilbert part of the heavy flooding areas during monsoon season?
I don’t recall ever hearing about heavy flooding in Gilbert.
Gilbert has catch basins that retain water after heavy rain. I've never witnessed serious flooding here. Been here 22 years.
great information sir, we are considering relocation to phoenix area, your videos are very educational, we will be visiting in late april, not sure which location to rent our air bnb, looking for a good town for families and good school, wife and i are both in the healthcare field any recommedation will be greatly appreciated.
Gilbert is probably my top pick. Also Scottsdale (on the pricier side). South Chandler...
Those homes with stucco are wood underneath. I prefer block but wood is cheaper to build
I actually live on Pinon way so I’m pretty close
Thank you for your videos. Just accepted a job offer in Tempe and I plan to move to Gilbert. I'm relocating from Illinois.
Congrats on your new job and relocation! Gilbert is a great place to move to.
I may move to Az in Aug 2019 from Wisconsin...i am not in politics, just want some sunshine in winter...lol...and i am still working...you have to move long b 4 you retire..My daughter lives in Miami and son in Cali...I know its hot in Miami, but its way to much to live there and its so,so humid for me, i stayed there 4 6 months...had to leave that place....and for me to move its not going to have all them Hurricanes and floods, me car nearly got washed away in a flash flood....I am thinking about Georgia near Augusta...but they have Hurricanes too....lol...
Hey you too? Awesome lol I’m moving out that way in August
Is this style of home common in Phoenix?
Yes, it is.
My other Hello What’s the best phone service provider out there? I have spirit now her in central Texas!
I can only speak from personal experience with my own provider (Verizon) and I've never had any issues. Verizon also has the widest network reach here.
Arizona Dreamz Thanks ! Good to know!
gilbert looks like a nice area is it a safe area?
Yes. It usually ranks very high on the safest cities to live lists.
Very safe
I have noticed that you don’t mention of any hospitals in the area
Banner Gateway Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, Gilbert Hospital...
Mercy Hospital is a very nice big hospital here.
Im looking to move my family to Gilbert as well. I have a commercial license and my wife is in the medical field. And you guessed it, we are coming from CA. No we won't bring liberal politics with us. LOL 😁
Then you're more than welcome!
Is Gilbert considered southern Arizona?
No, it isn’t. That’s where you’ll find Tucson, Yuma, etc.
Thank you!! Does it snow in Gilbert?
There may have been trace amounts over the years but it’s very rare occurrence. If there’s any snowfall in the Phoenix area, it’s usually in the higher elevations near the mountains. But that doesn’t happen very often either.
Arizona Dreamz Thank you so much for your responses!! Greatly appreciated!!!
Norwood is not a place for kid things to do it’s a furniture store.
This is wonderful thank you. I am a health but and I love Farmers Market and fresh veggies. Downtown is nice. What about the use of water in Arizona? I'm falling in love with this place, what about vegan restaurants? Is your wife black and your kids biracial, I knew I like you and that is why those little boys are so gorgeous😊😊😊. This is a beautiful suburbs. No she is a beautiful little child so sorry. Truly enjoyed this video.
So far there are no water restrictions here, though we are facing water / drought issues. There are vegan restaurants in Gilbert. Seed Shack is one. Yes, my wife is black and the boys are biracial. Glad you enjoyed the video and I agree that Gilbert has a very nice downtown area.
It’s hot in the summer
Yes, it definitely gets very hot during the summer.
Hi am a barber from new york. Do they have good barbers in Arizona ? Do you think a good barber can make good money out there
don't air conditioners work?
Most of Arizona looks barren and depressing! There are pockets of decent areas that are there due to mans interference but the state is a Desert lol
The desert definitely isn’t for everyone!
