To get the drum off pry on it a little bit then push it back Ion and there is a little rubber gasket between the axle shaft and drum get that gasket out and your drum will slide right off! And a trick to avoid fooling with that ring around the drum is to fold the brake pads in a little and tuck them into the drum then hit the drum and it will all pop in there!
On them back two axle nuts you can put wrench on them and then start it up and put it in gear while its jacked up then give it gas and it will speed up the process a lot more
im having the same problem, but i cant get the drum off. I dont want to break that backing plate so i cant pry to hard please tell me how you got yours off. mine is a 1995 honda 2wd fourtrax
Could you tell me where the cutout notch on the drum goes when sliding it onto the axle? Straight up or where the pads meet on the left or right side? Thank you.
So if that ring took you 26 min to put on, dose it have to be off for the drum to slid on? Because, I tryed to change the brake pads on my bike, but could not get the drum back on with new pads? Its like the ring is stoping it from sliding back on? Help plz lol
IF YOU CLEANED RING AND GROOVE GOOD THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON NOT TO PUT IT BACK IN ITS GROOVE BEFORE PUTTING DRUM BACK ON , IT WILL FIT OVER SHOES NO PROBLEM. , INFACT I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW YA PUT IT BACK IN WITH DRUM ON BIKE THAT MUST OF BEEN SOMETHING ELSE LOL

I though it looked like your axle was bent a little when it first rotated
The ring that is in the drum does not have to come out of the drum! I slid it on and off of my brakes with no problem at all.
How did you do that?? Cuz mine wont slip over the breaks..its like the breaks are just a little to high..like very little little
Good job on this video. What makes that ring so hard to put back on? Thanks for the tips!
