17th century palace in Zatonie

Zatonie village is situated on the Zielona Góra - Kożuchów road.
The 17th-century palace was built in the northern part of the Zatonie village. It is situated in a large park. There is a renovated orangery next to the palace. Nearby, you can see the farm buildings and the ruins of the 13th-century church of Saint John.
The palace itself was built in the years 1685 - 1689. The baroque manor house was a two-story building, erected on a rectangular plan, covered with a hipped roof with additions. A stone portal closed with a full arch was placed on the axis in the front elevation. In 1945, the palace and the orangery are burnt down by the Soviet army. The surviving farm is incorporated into state farms. The ruins of the palace and the decaying and overgrowing park are forgotten for a long time. In 2011, the "Our Zatonie" Association is established, with the main goal of activating villages and residents towards culture and art. The ruins of the palace were also taken care of. In 2018, the facility was secured and highlighted. At the beginning of 2020, the revitalization of the park and the palace began according to the original 17th-century plans.
The palace in Zatonie is a great example of how you can save a monument from devastation and total oblivion.

Oranżeria niemal nie pokazana, park również. Typowy "kwiatek do kożucha" rewitalizacja parku i oranżerii i zostawienie pustej skorupy pałacu, patologia myślenia konserwatora zabytków.
