With the way roblox is running it's ad campaign, it makes it impossible for small time or new devs to really get their game out there. I myself am a small game dev and I have to rely on word-of-mouth or just the odd chance that it appears in the "recommended for you" section due to how ridiculously expensive it is. It's actually cheaper for me to buy ad space in a shopping centre than it is in roblox.
EDIT: ITS SO OVER. If you were to run it at all times? Yeah then you could make that argument. But your ad budget directly scales with how long your ad has the potential to be seen by users as opposed to a flat cost to display said ad for a long time. The ad scheme is actually BENEFICIAL to small users as well just due to the nature of the ads being displayed on the exact same platform that your content is hosted and the user is active on. Think about it like this: You have a small store in a shopping mall and have two options for advertising. One is a billboard somewhere else in town, the other is on a bid-type system the same way roblox does it with electronic screens in said mall. It would make WAY more sense for the advertiser to have an advantage at the same establishment because the advertisements are easy to set up, require little to no maintenance or upkeep, and since the people seeing it are in the mall it exists in they are way more likely to actually check it out cause 1. theyre already there and 2. theyre looking for things to do Same thing applies to roblox, and even on small budgets you can still get a decent bit of exposure. You wont be front-paging for every hour of the day if you don't have the capital, that is pretty obvious. The better option for smaller devs is to strategically pick a time window for them to maximize the amount of potential viewers. If you game is decent and your campaign is smart and attractive then even with minimal capital you can have a decent effect

I recently advertised a game using immersive ads and they work really well. However, they are really bad at keeping the people in the game. This may have been because of my game but also the roblox doesn't really have a way to control the specific type of people (like what experience they are in) will see the ad. I mean you can select if you want your ad to displayed at games that are all ages but then with the next tier it also includes those people to. So the bulk of who joins your game with immersive ads are people from all ages games which have trouble playing it. I recommend sponsorships for desktop users as it gave me a lot of retention!

Basically with portal ads you sacrifice the amount of impressions but with sponsorships you sacrifice the amount of plays(imo) play rate is 100-1000 times more with portal ads mainly due to the fact you have 100-1000% less people clicking. Additionally, portal ads automatically teleport the players to the game, but sponsorships require players to click the game AND join it, so you can have plenty of people click the ad that just choose not to visit the game, decreasing your player count. It honestly depends on the quality of your game and ability to attract views, players, clicks, etc

I’ve experimented with the old ads before this type came out, and have spent a lot of money trying to get players in. There a couple of problems with your approach. Your game is obviously rushed which means that the quality is lower than it could’ve been if you had given more time to make it look better. It’s really difficult to see where you’re supposed to go, and when we’re thinking about the audience you’ll have to think about a bunch of 8 year olds who have no clue what they’re doing. There’s no signage (an arrow trail or something) that shows where to go. The spawn point is wayyy too small and should be way more protected. The quality of your game has a major impact on playability and the amount of players you got for your money is not good. I’ve never reached the success line unfortunately so I can’t share how to get there, but you definitely need to spend more time developing and then when the game is near full completion you can start running ads. Even better, call some friends to test your game out so you can see where issues might occur and then fix as many as you can so that the real players won’t be disappointed. Anyways, thanks for sharing this experiment

Best way to get it to pay off, would have been to make a game that is more engaging, so people would play again, and again, and again, the hang-glider game, like most obeys don't have much replay value, so you need to spend ridiculous amounts for players

Doesn’t take that long for a quick search, if you can’t script a simple thing like this, good luck being able to make a full popular cafe. Complete the missing parts, and delete the - when you put the location. Replace it with: script.Parent. Replace the end with your door. Next, fill in the ‘local id’ with your group ID. Then finally put the ‘minimumRankLevel’ with whatever rank number you want it to be. local doorpart = script.Parent -- Put the part acting as the door here local id = 1111 -- Put your group id here local minimumRankLevel = 10 -- Put your desired minimum rank level here doorpart.Touched:Connect(function(touchPart) if touchPart.Parent:FindFirstChild("Humanoid") then local plr = game.Players:FindFirstChild(touchPart.Parent.Name) if plr:IsInGroup(id) and plr:GetRankInGroup(id) >= minimumRankLevel then doorpart.CanCollide = false end end end) If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to message me back. I would learn scripting from this, it is really not that hard. Just watch some scripting tutorials. It may seem daunting at first, but trust me, they help you so much.

Interesting video, bit slow maybe and some repeated stuff. Like we already saw the settings when you went through them to make the campaign, but then explained again later
I felt your life drain after buying the add credits 😂 it’s such a scam in my opinion should do better promotion and also cost way less if you're just starting your game it should be 100 robux or at least free seeing how Roblox gets money from your games success just pure greed
Let’s me honest, you’re not gonna blow up your game with 100 robux.
@Jayimator fr.
after seeing how many visit the game gained i bought robux but what should i buy ? immersive ads or sponsor my game ?
Releasing a game in 2022 or before was a breeze with getting players. I got 2k active on two games then they removed under 13 then user ads and now I get like 100 active 💀💀💀
This video inspired me into developing
damn i thought sponsored anything on roblox never got any players, like i never saw anyone enter the immersive ad portal
same
Immersive Ads seems to be actually good 😭
1:16 a notification that notifies everyone in the server when someone joins the game would be so annoying, you’re in a roblox discord group and it blows up and theres thousands of people playing and you get flooded with notifications every 0.02 seconds. Also it notifies the entire server?! what??
its an observation server with only him in it, purely for the video
ur dumb
he's alone in the server and he probably had his notifications muted
Best way to get it to pay off, would have been to make a game that is more engaging, so people would play again, and again, and again, the hang-glider game, like most obeys don't have much replay value, so you need to spend ridiculous amounts for players
I love your games and content but what admin panel are you using?
So ad are only good for bringing people to your game or make a community? but does that worth 20+ € of robux?
Cookie tech for you, is it better to buy ad, or try making your game popular [like doing ads on tiktok youtube ect..]
Because i'm a also a developer who work on a project rn and want my community to grow [also gaining robux]
So basically, they are bad and very expensive. This platform went from new dev friendly to destroying small devs and only promoting huge groups while we spent a fortune on sponsored
hey dude nice video :D which app do you use for the ai thumbnails?
i recommend you not use ai to make your thumbnails! ai generated images are stolen work, i recommend you search up a video about it. feel free to ask me any questions about the subject and have a nice day
@@arr0wyourboat dw haha i was just asking if you used a ai for it. i am not making any pics with ai and stuff.. i am a modeler haha. my brother was just on my acc.
@@Zubi-96 i was concerned for a second lmao 😭 thanks for your understanding
now what about being an ad publisher, so setting up adverts in games and seeing how much you make?
Hello, I just subscribed to you, I have a video suggestion coule you help on how to make like rank doors from Roblox groups? Like Roblox Cafes that the Kitchen only can be Access from the Baristas (Roblox rank group).
Then finally put the ‘minimumRankLevel’ with whatever rank number you want it to be.
local doorpart = script.Parent -- Put the part acting as the door here
local id = 1111 -- Put your group id here
local minimumRankLevel = 10 -- Put your desired minimum rank level here
doorpart.Touched:Connect(function(touchPart)
if touchPart.Parent:FindFirstChild("Humanoid") then
local plr = game.Players:FindFirstChild(touchPart.Parent.Name)
if plr:IsInGroup(id) and plr:GetRankInGroup(id) >= minimumRankLevel then
doorpart.CanCollide = false
end
end
end)
If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to message me back. I would learn scripting from this, it is really not that hard. Just watch some scripting tutorials. It may seem daunting at first, but trust me, they help you so much.
crazy thing, I need to try it when my game release
Great video. Thank you!!!
i remember when i put my last 80 robux into an ad and i got like 50 visits out of it😭 i hate this new ad system.
What are you expecting? 80 robux is 28 cents irl.
@@refraysmusic i was happy with my 50 visits. im mad that i would have to pay more now if i wanted to advertise my game
@@koolgaemrcid Get a job, and use that money to fund your game, and then if said game gets big and successful, use money from said game to quit job.
@@refraysmusic where is 80 robux worth 28 cents and how much does it cost to move there. 80 robux costs £1 in the UK

woah! super underrated channel
Good Video Noah!
Hi Cookie, I was wondering if you need any music for your game. I am a music producer and I would love to do it for free.
Music is relaxing, thanks.
bro put an immersive ad on this video
you should animate the glider tbh
immersive ads suck and should have never been added, they're literally useless, and just contributes to the corporacy of roblox
Should've put a arrow above but facing downwards towards the platform they need to land on they'd prob understand a bit better
Cookie, that was a nice vid but I was interested how much robux u made in total because you didn’t include it
You don't make robux you spend it
@@zachPlushgaming he literally said at the start of the video that he had gamepasses and he would see how much he made from them
@@qwerty_qwertyI mean I think everyone that joined was a f2p judging from avatars so none
Thank you for this video❤
This was also you learning level design, good job
I think the best way is making actualy a good and fun game and then post it on social
Interesting video! I have a question tho, how you did the discord thing, to see how many people joined your game yk? If someone knows how please give me an answer! Thank you!!!
It's using a Roblox to Discord Webhook, there are lots of videos on UA-cam about it. :)
I subscribed!
What happened to 70 MILLION impressions?
thats what im saying, althought he didn't show whether those who entered the game by advertising bought gamepass or not.
70 MILLION impressions for a month, he did it for 2 days
Great explanation! Subscribing to you might not be a bad Idea :)
Also, do I have your permission to create a "Obby but you are on a hang glider" but better created and more time put?
Edit: What plugins do you use?
can anyone help i spent 5k on sponsoring and it would not let me choose campaign objective and it still says in reveiws and when i edit it i cant change anything
You can’t change the campaign after if you use Ad Credits. I feel bas for you.
@@xandermckay9806 yes ik but at first before everything i coudnt choose the campaign
