As a kid who dreamed of being a paleontologist who loved ASE I'll probably stick with ASA until it folds or Snail drives this whole thing into the ground. In my opinion survival games in general, ARK included, are some of the few games worth playing anymore that isn't charging arms and legs through some level of monetization and any potential Modding is definitely making the game all the better and far more playable for my friend and I on our private server. I definitely understand why people don't enjoy the game anymore or won't support ASA and I hope them all the best finding a game that rewards their time and money.
Really hit the nail on the head here with everything you said. The ARK 2 trailer was released 3+ years early and the ASA trailer was released the day before the game came out (and out of nowhere like you said). They obviously ran out of money to fund ARK 2, used ASA as a cash grab, and are now overly invested in it to the point ARK 2 will be pushed back for many more years. They told us “not to worry” about hackers before buying the game since they claimed to have redone the code. They also told their customers that performance would be great on the servers, and to this day I have not seen such poor optimization and consistent lag out of any game I’ve ever played. And this doesn’t include all the crashing on the client side which is completely unacceptable. It’s honestly a miracle a class action lawsuit hasn’t occurred yet for this disaster. They’ll be lucky for them to get away with just losing their jobs. The devs and the publishers have proved over and over that they are all lying trashy people who will say anything to make a buck
Yeah and what’s funny is I havnt played for 4 weeks after being wiped by hackers on smalltribes. I come back and I’m banned myself for 6 days for bad language aparently and then before that while being wiped by hackers over a 2 week span I was banned for 2 weeks for bad language again and I don’t barely speak in chat lmao it’s a joke
Agree with pretty much everything said here. Cheaters, hackers, players that take advantage of exploits, and bugs are the biggest issues. I'm not coming back to this game until I have reason to believe that these issues are SOLVED. GGs.
There are actually many quality of life changes they implemented into ASA that’s not in ASE. Not just graphical changes. Not sure if you actually played ASA, but even base building is better. Along with major UI changes to make things more easier to manage. I’d also say the performance is noticeably better considering the game doesn’t stutter every 5 seconds like ASE. And while there is some issues still, I’d say ASA is slightly the better game in the long run because they’re adding new creatures that never existed on all the revamped maps coming from ASE along with new player outfits and weapons. Also, being able to utilize mods on consoles is awesome. What they need to do is just bring the price down to $20 bucks and they’ll see more people switch over. Other than that, I’m excited to see how all the maps look on the UE5 along with the creatures. The character customization is better too. I’ve also noticed that they’ve added better Dino sounds. There’s a lot of good things about ASA that many ppl aren’t discussing lol
What's the point of all these changes if you can't even save anything and your dinos and items keep disappearing. Not to mention people losing entire characters when you ascend.

Wait, ticket response of 2-4 weeks? I had an admin in my base immediately after someone failed to raid me. Telling me i was in a banned spot and had 72hrs to move my base.
Im glad i didnt buy this i could already tell a game that was supposed to be a FREE UPGRADE as long as you preorder ark 2 but instead they retracked that and make you pay 45 buck for a legit reskin. Like FOH. I can have fun on a polished older Ark with more mods and less bugs jank and break. At least it stays stable now instead of a petty cash grab.
My game crashed about 60 times yesterday. It was so bad and they show no urgency to fix this game breaking issue. I may get a refund and leave again for another 5 years until they fix their game

If they can hit the release schedule for new maps I can see my tribe playing for quite a long time on our private server which is quite well populated. I wouldn't go back to official.. ever, it was a horrible experience. Cheating should be at the forefront of multiplayer game developers minds, using an anti cheat package simply does not work. Someone should agree a price to free Ark from underneath snail games and setup a kickstarter to do it.
Ive played ark for a long time. I remember when the center map came out and I was so excited. But as the years went on I realized how money hungry they were. They have yet to release a free dlc, yet this is the game that made them. The only free things theyve given have been community made. Its so infuriating to see a company ruin a game with greed. But then again, I guess it's not thay uncommon.
I believe the issue was the map let’s admit it no one really played the map even in the old ark we’d normally use it just for note runs so I believe once rag or other maps launched it’d be different
They should've waited to have at least have a couple other maps finished. More people would be looking past the horrendous bugs if there were more content to cover it up.
It's so sad I saw on small tribes enemies use ESP,Aimbot,Speedhack, Full torpor command, ddos, roleback, kicking player with command.... Wildcard / the devs doing nooooothing!
To be honest: me and my friends are currently having a lot of fun in ASA. I had over 6300 h playtime in ASE and it was great but now I also already have 700 h in ASA. In my opinion most of the complaints are coming from people playing official and / or pvp. Me and my friends have never been interested in playing on official and we only ever played ASE on a private, password protected server with hand picked people and we only ever played pve. For us the Fun in ARK has always been the great graphics, breeding dinos and perhaps most of all the creativity in high end base building. For people like us ASA is perfectly alright as we never had to deal with cheaters and similar sum. Yes it had quite some bugs in the beginning but that has greatly improved over the last weeks and yes with currently only the island map there is limited content but that is due to change soon with the release of the next maps. Also I can not quite understand the argument that they are "selling the same game for the same price" as that is not true. For the 40 bucks we get a lot of maps ... if I compare that to the amount of money I payed for the ASE Base Game + SE + AB + EXT + Season Passes that was WAY more money! So yes it is a remake but it looks incredibly good graphics wise and I am very exited to see what they do with maps like Aberation or Ragnarok. I really hope all the negativity coming from official/pvp players does not lead to the game being abandoned by WC.
same opinion as you, but yeah I only play pve as well so my only complain is optimization and crashing. But they definitely need to fix what was mentioned in this video since pvp is a big part of the game
Game isn't going to die because of online negativity. It will die because nobody is playing it, player count is crashing. If players come back for new maps remains to be seen. My guess is yes but for only a few weeks at best. Future of asa looks grim because first impressions are important and wildcard botched asa release horribly. Opened a lot of eyes to the reality of how terrible wildcard is as a developer and how it treats its playerbase. Before u crap on my opinion this comes from a 10k hour player of ase. Not hating on asa it's just the sad reality of the state of the game that I've played and loved for many years.

I only feel that with all the negative videos coming out on youtube recently - that do have valid points ! - it gets somewhat lost in the discussion that there are also playstyles for whom ASA is an absolutely enjoyable game. Namely people playing pve on private and mostly modded servers.
@@thamakil1394 something I forgot to mention in first post. Far more alarming stat than players is server count. In the last two months asa has lost 16,000 servers, this is far more than a official server problem. Losing 16k unofficial servers isn't a good sign.
I still play SSE I don’t think ASA looks that good. Floating rocks water looks like garbage. Unofficial ASE is the best experience. WC really doesn’t give a crap about us on official.
floating rocks is because of a setting that people have as 0.1 when it needs to be 1 (dont exacly know the name now). I dont understand why people just play like that instead of fixing it...

Evolved is more fun anyways even though it’s the same issues. Nobody has the time to sweat as hard as this game requires unless you’re a kid or a no life single adult.
The time you are dead on about. I wish they took the time to make official servers that had ORP on a regular work schedule like 9 to 5 or something with silent structures. regular server admins that routinely check a cluster of servers. That would be great.
As posted on another video, i play on an unofficial server (admins are FAAAAR better than WC as cheaters, hacking etc is dealt with quickly) unfortunately even there they cant save the game, i live in a small undiscovered rathole and have not ventured out in weeks, barely go on, body NEVER left in base and all tames in cryopods in smithy or fab, nothing to show its there unless you physically see it, and i am the ONLY non mega tribe on this server that is still standing, rest ate in ruins with even mega tribes leaving! Even so with so few updates, delays etc, the only time i EVER go on ASA now is to make new cryopods to replace the ones holding my tames about to expire (dont want to loose my sky giga) but more and more lately a small part of me keeps thinking, it wouldn't be so bad if i got raided, then id have no need to keep playing! That is honestly how i feel atm, the ONLY thing keeping my ark game going is ensuring i have tames and items for future updates, and i doubt im the only one! On my server only i have heard of mega tribes actually creating rosters for whos turn it is to go on and maintain/ check on the base, like its become a chore. I am sickened to think that such a loyal fan base has been reduced to nothing more than a chore with many praying thier base gets destroyed so they have more time to play elsewhere!!!!
It's further annoying that the maps I personally enjoyed the most will not be out for over a year!!!! Given the choice, I would gladly accept even half my money back as a refund as I can not currently see the rest of my tribe from ASE ever joining me in ASA 😢

They could've also reached out to youtubers and given a large handful of them access to an official server or two as a form of easy bugtesting from the people who know best how to break the game. Gen 1 and 2 did not make it better. As you said, Ark doesnt care about pvp, and its shown as they release broken metas, allowing cheating, and tribe favoritism. It sucks because I also love pvp, though I dont have the time and mental resources to spend 10 hours on my pc daily, it just sucks to what it became. Unforgiving to the new players and preferred to the no-lifers.

I'm still having fun playing the game on pve but snail games is garbage and the ppl in charge of player relations are horrible. We have a Chinese tribe who we've recorded speed hacking. Anyone that uploads the clips and reports then gets banned. It wild
Honestly ass was just a front, release to cover up ase crime, these guys were about to face some really serious charges facing millions and most likely jail time for exploiting their own game for money from customers illegally. For example if you are a old players you would know about dev selling hacks on discord, wildcard were punks to begin with that’s why it was bought off by the Chinese

I returned ASA after a week on Steam.... it's terrible, prettier but nothing new TBH. Snail have destroyed something that could've been an epic game. RIP Ark!

Ark had potential to be the best pvp survival game but devs dont give a crap about pvp, we as community created pvp from this buggy as hell game imo ASE>Rust>ASA but objectivly rust is just strictly pvp and ark is strictly pve which is pretty sad bcs pve is so boring
@@wiktorbolek8391 yessir. I would say that ARK had some pvp intention, just showed it as a Medieval fighting game with dinosaurs. They completely butchered that idea after Extinction. Gen 1 and 2 did not make it better. As you said, Ark doesnt care about pvp, and its shown as they release broken metas, allowing cheating, and tribe favoritism. It sucks because I also love pvp, though I dont have the time and mental resources to spend 10 hours on my pc daily, it just sucks to what it became. Unforgiving to the new players and preferred to the no-lifers.
